A CEO doesn't need a briefcase anymore or a laptop for a meeting like BT was attending. It's all prepared electronically and would be ready for him on a laptop at the meeting venue, as well as his talking points with the powerpoint or whatever program he was using. I work with our CEO regularly on presentations, and everything is finalized and reviewed before the executive officer leaves for a trip to another city or abroad and the presentation and talking points are transferred digitally. The CEO just saunters in the day of the event and everything is ready for their presentation. No CEO walks into anywhere not appropriately dressed. No overcoat on a freezing day? Nope. No way. If you think it's a coincidence that he is not dressed right or carrying a briefcase the moment he got shot, then you aren't thinking hard enough about this. Ask yourself why the shooter was at Starbucks 2.5 blocks away and mysteriously knew when the CEO would exit the Marriott? He knew bc he is part of the conspiracy, the shooter lured out the CEO. They know each other somehow.
I also don't find anything odd about BT's behavior walking one block from the hotel where he stayed to the conference hotel. And although some would put on an overcoat on top of his suit jacket due to the weather, it seems that BT was comfortable walking to the conference hotel with just his suit jacket. As people have posted on here, he is from Minnesota. He's used to much colder weather.
