Unless he wanted to ultimately get caught after messing with LE with the end result of becoming a sick sort of hero.If this is him he's dumber than dumb to be still traveling on a bus and carrying those items. SMH

Agreed. And apparently he didn't plan to change his appearance so that people wouldn't connect him with looking like that guy that killed BT. With all of his prior planning, I do not understand how he could not have significantly changed his appearance.
It was kind of subtle tbh. I was saying I’d be willing to bet, doesn’t mean I’d win the bet lol.OMG can't believe I took a break to read a book last night and missed whatever this was!!! Wow.
Don't agree with that.I wonder if he truly wanted/expected to get away. I'm not sure what the motive was, but look what he's accomplished: people are selling and buying shirts with the sketch of him with the gun pulled and the words "deny, defend, depose" splattered across it. People are cheering him on. People are wildly discussing the health insurance policies. In my opinion, it doesn't matter if he was caught. He's lit the powder keg.
It is a clip in the news article reporting video. It shows before he is near BT about to shoot."The video, which has not previously been seen publicly, appears to support the police narrative that the shooter targeted Thompson because he loitered while others wandered by."
What the heck does that mean? That he wasn't targeted because he was the CEO of UHC?
I think we’re hours away from that. This happened about 3.5 hours ago, and there’s still a matter of NYPD arriving in Pennsylvania, and this guy being interviewed and identified.Hope there's going to be anannouncement of a police press conference soon.
IMO, it's more likely LE asked for his ID after approaching him in response to the tip.Why would McDonald's require an ID?
Manifesto tells us not a hit man hired by someone close to BT. Some folks on here seem to have been on the right track.![]()
UnitedHealthcare CEO murder latest: Police take in person of interest in Pennsylvania
NYPD deploys detectives to Altoona, Pennsylvania, as a man is being held for questioning after being spotted by an ‘elderly patron’ in a McDonald’swww.independent.co.uk
Person of interest arrested in Pennsylvania on local charges ‘caught with manifesto’ and ghost gun
The man arrested on local charges in Altoona, Pennsylvania, possibly over giving police false identification, was said to be carrying a manifesto, law enforcement sources said.
According to the New York Post, he allegedly had a so-called manifesto on him when he was taken into custody by police on on Monday morning.
Investigators also believe he was carrying a ghost gun — the Frankenstein weapon being put together with parts sold online — that matches the gun believed to have been used in the shooting, a senior law enforcement official told The New York Times
Yes, though it might be at least an hour or 2 away, since 1st NYPD has to arrive there (in PA), then do their own questioning; then do the arrangements for a conference which I assume doesn't take long.Hope there's going to be anannouncement of a police press conference soon.
And they said he's 26 years old. Can't wait to have a name, background, heritage, mugshot and motive. Especially after all the speculation in the last 6 threads.
Roughly 4 and a half hour driveAltoona police are waiting for NYPD detectives, who are on their way
They have aircraft and don't need to drive...take the helicopter...save time.Roughly 4 and a half hour drive
Still want the whole story. Very interested if he was hired to shoot the CEO.Looks like it !
So glad it appears that they caught him.
Regardless of your injustice (if this was about insurance), you can't go around whacking people.
Although I'm getting the feeling it was his 'fifteen minutes" and all that.
Still curious if he had help ?
Or just got lucky ?
Imo.
I think it was to buy him more time before the NYPD responded. NYC has Shot Spotter technology, which detects gunshots and can notify police of the location. I'm betting that the silencer was a counter measure to this.I think if it wasn't for the silencer he'd have a lot harder time getting away. If everyone around heard a loud gunshot, they'd be much more inclined to be on the lookout for suspicious activity. Just my opinion though.
