Someone on here yesterday said something about "losing it" if the shooter ends up having curly hair because he looked like someone they know (I'm fuzzy on the details). He does indeed have curly hair!

Mangione is an Italian last name. I don't think he's Middle Eastern at all like some speculated
I was totally off in every single thing possible but very glad he’s off the streets

What a waste of a life. He used his intellect to plot, plan and murder a CEO. Not at all what I expected to be candid.

his twitter profile has 3 images.. middle was some sort of what looks like spinal implant on x-ray.. third image is of him on top of what looks like mountain in hawaii
We can’t post that mountain pic here, can we?
WHOA

Gotta give it to that front desk girl at the hostel, she knew how to pick ‘em. Had he exposed his abs the entire internet might’ve gone down.

Valedictorian at Gilman (!) to CS at Penn (!)

… Gilman, probably a top 10 private boys HS in the United States. Extremely elite, major Ivy League feeder, which is what this guy then did, into among Penn’s most difficult majors.

Can’t get over that. The ‘16 valedictorian at Gilman?!
It’s sad when even such promising young kids don’t see a good future ahead for themselves in the US.
Time to introspect as a country.

Young, good looking... why throw your life away like that?

Just catching up with the thread..
Mental illness, I would guess. Though I don't mean that in the sense of not being legally culpable.
I think his father tipped off the police, and Mayor Adams let it slip that they had his name. They just didn't have HIM, until today.
Would be fitting if this had shades of Ted K being caught due to a tip from his brother.

His neck injury...ugh. Maybe that's why he chose to shoot the CEO in the back? Horrible!!

I am absolutely flummoxed. Something doesn't add up in his behavior. Or, at least, with what we currently know. I do wonder if he wanted to get caught.
I wonder if he is a Catholic given his very Italian name? Having been raised in a Catholic household myself (but not a Catholic myself since aged 14) you carry a guilty conscience forever even if you tell a tiny white lie. I cannot even imagine what he must feel for having committed something as awful as a murder... deep inside, maybe he really wanted to get caught as he does not agree with what he has done. Just my own speculation.

He had multiple US IDs as well as his passport

Per PC

Hmmm, what else has he been up to? What line of business is his family in?

John Miller on CNN:

An employee looks at this person in Mcdonalds and she believes he resembles the photos that have been put out. She calls 911. Police engage man and that's when they found all that stuff on him. One of the ID's matches the NJ drivers license name. Documents that seem to be relevant to this case. Would stop short of calling it a "manifesto." Carrying documents that may relate to motive.
Well SHE deserves the reward!!!!
Bam!!!

Unabomber Manifesto Review by Mangione

What a wealth of information he's left to assist LE, including his incisive review of Ted Kazcynski's manifesto.

Too soon to know much, but IMO this man is clearly not your workaday nutbar. He's a bit evolved, I feel. Different optics. Of course, wherewithal may be all the difference, too.

Hate what he did, hope to understand why he did it. He seems intelligent enough to have realized shortly after killing Brian Johnson that it would not advance the dialog in any way. Terrible that he didn't figure that out before.

I agree. I think they've known who he was for several days. I wonder if he even had a destination in mind or was just gonna figure that out on the fly. Took him quite a long time to get from NYC to Altoona...where was he?

Yes. 4 nights are unaccounted for.

Did he drive to the Altoona PA MdD's or did he really take the Greyhound?

He definitely trimmed his eyebrows.

If it is his account on Twitter, another account repeatedly asks him if he is OK, as though he is reaching out. This is from around July. Wonder if something bad happened in his life, and he withdrew, hence someone asking him to get in touch.

I can't believe this kid. So gifted, so bright. I'm so sad he threw his life away. What happened.

His X profile shows an Xray of a spine that has 4 different things in it. I have no idea what they are. Pins of some kind? Perhaps it's all about him and losing coverage for an existing condition.
