I'm glad he was caught when he was, because THIS doesn't look like the face of a man that was finished.
Thankful more innocent lives weren't taken by this perp.

Good point. His grandparents had 10 children, and they each had children of their own. That may be a lot of people to split up the wealth of the grandparents. They might be well off, but not necessarily rolling in dough. We can't sleuth his family, but I don't think they were *that* wealthy (at least not by the standards of the richest people in MD nor NY nor CA or any other high CoL place.
It is my impression that his family has gone public about their own medical issues and inability to pay for two members' bills. His family owns a funeral home; his closest relatives have jobs - well paid jobs, but still jobs that require a lot of hard work (medical doctor, for example).

'Shocked and devastated': Family of suspected United Healthcare killer speaks out
The family of the suspected killer of CEO Brian Thompson shared a statement about their son hours after police arrested him.www.usatoday.com
I'll report my own post to make sure this link is okay.
Agree, both Brian and Luigi were valedictorians from world class schools, one had a high flying successful business career, the other threw it all away, such a waste of 2 brilliant minds that 1 should lose his life at the hands of the one who made bad choicesI'm thinking this isn't arrogance and that he's had some type of psychological deterioration. Who knows?
I hope they lock him up and throw away the key, but it always makes me sad to see young people with promise completely lose their way.
Imagine how his relative (cousin?) feels, he's a republican state office holder.I can't imagine how his family is coping with this. From pride in their son/sibling to sheer devastation.
Holy mackerel, check the heavy grip on his surgically repaired neck.![]()

I expected him to be meek and downcast, as he appeared in the McDonalds. I guess he got enough sleep to switch back to his rage and self grandiosity.
We'll see how arrogant he is when the folks at Rikers "welcome" him!!He sure is arrogant!!
T-shirts, bumper stickers, etc. are printing right now. sad. moo![]()

Was that just a temporary thing immediately after the accident or the surgery, though? I find it difficult to believe his injury/surgery prevented that if he is physically able to walk across the street, shoot someone multiple times then ride off at high speed on a bike all whilst lugging a backpack around. It comes down to this and perhaps a type of confusion surrounding dating in general... imo, total speculation.

His mother reported him missing in November. If I were in her shoes, I'd be grateful to know that he was alive and somewhere he wouldn't be able to hurt himself, at least temporarily. Just my opinion.I can't imagine how his family is coping with this. From pride in their son/sibling to sheer devastation.
No, but it does help prosecutors establish the intent element of a second degree murder charge imo. If he is convicted of second degree murder, a judge will likely consider his laying in wait (as well as the pre-planning involved, of course) as aggravating factors for sentencing. Second degree murder carries a minimum sentence of 15-25 years and a maximum of life, so a judge will consider aggravating and mitigating factors to determine what they believe to be an appropriate sentence within this range. These factors are also significant to the prosecution in determining what, if any, plea deal to offer.Thank you for explaining this. Would his 'laying in wait" for him victim impact his charges somehow?
I need to look at the video again, however, iirc, he whipped his neck around [turned it around] and I felt once he saw a crowd decided to show off? I didn't know he had a repaired neck. But, boy, for someone supposedly having pain, he covers well. mooHoly mackerel, check the heavy grip on his surgically repaired neck.
I noticed that too!! that must hurt like hell.Holy mackerel, check the heavy grip on his surgically repaired neck.
