One photo looks like there is a faint indication of a mustache "shadow." I think it's a male, but of course don't know for sure. jmo
Yeah. The second picture where he is not smiling clearly shows a mustache shadow. He is male.

I would just add to this, that there can always be tertiary relationships that are unknown to family and coworkers. The possibility of someone knowing his schedule without others knowing is possible. IMO men in these positions tend to have relationships that others may not know about.

(N57UH) United Healthcare Services Inc Gulfstream G550 by Andrew Mauro | AeroXplorer Photo Database

United Healthcare has a corporate jet. That's probably how he flew to NYC.

My husband gets to go on his company's sometimes with his boss and the CEO just calls and books it, they pick a time, then they decide they want to grab coffee and take one more phone call and then the flight takes off an hour late, or his boss is itching to go and they push it up an hour. Even I can't keep track of when the plan is coming or going.

I'm just saying it would be really hard for a random hitman to track the CEO on his corporate jet to the private airport where he lands and then follow him to his hotel to figure out where he is staying :)

If he had no insider knowledge he would assume the CEO was staying at the Hilton, where the conference was taking place.

I just suspect there is a very personal love angle to this hit, considering the fact the hitman knew that he was staying in another hotel and what time to expect him to walk over.

I think the wonkiest thing to me about the perp being in the right place at the right time is that BT was out quite early to make his walk down half a block. I would think even his family wouldn't know what time he was leaving the hotel in the morning to walk to a meeting. So, unless it was an ingrained habit, I would think there might have been a second spotter at BT's hotel (but that doesn't give much time to scramble) or they had a tracker somehow (maybe something on his phone)? If the UHC systems had been hacked, would tracking movement on actual company phones be possible? Imo.

Just guessing as we await further news.

His face looks very Mediterranean, like Italian maybe?

According to BT’s wife, BT had been receiving threats.

It was also said that he did have Security Personnel.

Why weren’t his Security guys with him yesterday morning?

Did BT wave them off and tell them to meet him at the Hilton or did the Security peeps make changes?

Really want to know the answer to this.

Just logged on again a after last night.
I think I've caught up but may have missed it.

Has it been stated how they traced him to this hostel on Amsterdam?
Not specifically but they have stated they have CCTV footage on him outside the Frederick Douglas Housing Project building at 05:00 on Wed morning, which is not far away. Imagine he's been traced on CCTV back to the hostel.

If this is a hit, I would expect someone closer to CEO's circle.

jmo
A get away on a bike? That sounds a bit odd. You'd think hop on a subway, keep changing your appearance and lines, poof you're gone amidst rush hour. Idk, but it was planned out that's for sure and the killer was a good shot.

@NYPDnews

UPDATE: Below are photos of a person of interest wanted for questioning regarding the Midtown Manhattan homicide on Dec. 4. This does not appear to be a random act of violence; all indications are that it was a premediated, targeted attack. The full investigative efforts of the NYPD are continuing, and we are asking for the public’s help—if you have any information about this case, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). There is a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

yes, and the fact that the shooter was on the phone a few minutes before the shooting. You wouldn't be making random phone calls at that time of the morning. I think the call was to someone related to Thompson's location. He knew when he had to be ready!

I don't think this is a hit. Its been too messy imo. Someone with experience with killing, wouldnt have left all of this evidence behind imo

I believe all shareholders can attend annual meetings.
It wasn't an annual meeting; it was a conference for institutional investors.

Why would they release this information and tip him off about the search warrant?
Maybe because they know he isn't from the US and possibly fled they country already? Just from reading this thread it sounds like he could have been brought in to the country just for this. But he may be very familiar with NYC or had plenty of time to prepare.

Not sure why this horrible thing was done, but there are many very viable thoughts brought up in the thread.

Can you provide a link to a source for the info that he and his wife are separated or divorcing?

This has most likely been addressed already (trying to catch up but a little busy today ... ) :

At the time of the killing, Thompson and his estranged wife Paulette had been living in separate homes that are less than a mile apart in suburban Maple Grove, Minnesota, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Here is the link to the WSJ :

As i said earlier my prints are on file, twice for jobs i had, so not just criminals.
Yes. Fingerprinting is so common these days. You need a criminal background check and fingerprinting just to coach local youth sports in my state.

John Miller on CNN:

Not of quality for facial recognition, but police believe crowdsourcing this will lead to his identification. Someone will recognize him. Trying to speed this along "This is a turn in the investigation." Police initially believed he was familiar with NYC because of the way he moved around, but the fact that he stayed in a hostel may lend credence to the idea that he came from out of town. The kind of place where people don't notice people, because it's very transient.

Hostel search took place last night. Probably there Tuesday and Wednesday, give or take a day.

Current thinking is he came in from outside NY and is probably back where he came from.

Asked about how fast after a photo is released in a case like this does law enforcement know who he is. Really fast. Expects this to lend to a resolution.

Good point. TSA PreCheck will fingerprint too
