GUILTY Abby & Libby - The Delphi Murders - Richard Allen Arrested - #220

Agreed and I didn’t intend to insinuate I ever thought the photo or video was sourced from a trail cam. However it would’ve suited RA’s explanation to his wife especially if she recognized him and it also would explain his unusual comment that the photo couldn’t be him if it was taken by Libby.

But I’ll admit where that theory falls flat is the photo is obviously taken on the bridge.
There were initial reports that the photo was taken from a trail cam.

One thing that really intrigues me about the interview is LE are literally giving him an out every time they ask if he loaned his gun out to anyone else or if someone else could have taken his gun. He could have easily lied and said yes. He just doesn't though
He wanted no connection at all between his gun and the crime scene. Had he said he'd loaned it out, the next questions from LE would be to whom, and why.

He was distancing.

Yep. With just about every detail other than he was there on the trail & platform 1. When it came to certain details which were everyday things or not related to the MHB, he talked & talked & talked & talked & talked & talked some more. They asked where he parked, for example, & he starts talking about where old trails & bridges used to be. He didn’t want to get caught in a lie or force himself to have to come up with an ordered sequence of events which he’d be asked to repeat over & over by investigators.

He never even used the age old "I don’t remember" at any point other than when discussing something not directly related to that day. It was 5 years ago.

He did the exact same sort of thing with his wife when she said the ballistics report matched his gun. He started to respond while looking down & away from her, then stopped mid sentence, looked right at her & said I love you. What a piece of work.
I found it strange he didn’t have a visible reaction to them showing them Libby’s leg.

He has a daughter so you would think an innocent man would be a lot more revolted at seeing crime scene photos of a dead child. IMO
He seemed to glance at it more than he should have & to me it looked like he was forcing himself to not look at it.

Watching the video of the interview when KA was present, I was surprised by the interactions/demeanor between RA and his wife.
In the FB posts/video of the two that I watched when her FB was still open, RA always seemed aggravated/angry with her , as if he could hardly tolerate her at all while she appeared cheerful and loving towards him.
I'm just curious about others impressions of this. Not that it matters and of course we can't understand the dynamics between people from FB, I just always got the impression of Richard Allen being a thoroughly unpleasant @$$hole, tbh.
He is also highly manipulative and comes off as a pathological liar and a man use to being placated by the women in his life.
Basically a very spoiled little man used to gaslighting and manipulating the women in his life to get his way.
He also gave me the impression of a person with an extremely volatile temper when things don't go his way.
Just curious about what everyone else thought.

As to your last point, "forcing himself to not look at it", I suspect it's because of prurient interest. He wanted to look in the worst way for the worst reasons. And would have IMO if not for the setting.

He continues to leave out the middle ten minutes of the day, when he was alone, with a gun, and two little girls he had forced to undress. I am certain he has secrets he intends to take to the grave.

No DNA doesn't mean it didn't happen. We don't know what he did.

And what we know is already hell-bad enough.

For a long time, I figured he’d be a type who bent to the women’s will & was angered about it. I agree with you after seeing how he acted around her on the videos & how she apologized to him for telling LE he wasn’t on the bridge while he’s the one being looked at by LE. He seems to be the aggressor between the two & she seems to be the more subservient type. I feel he seemed to tolerate her in the few SM clips I’ve seen, but obviously that’s a very small cross section of which to observe.

ETA - Clarity with first sentence.

💯

He’s such a little worm. Pathetic, lying, weak, little man with an eye for girls at whom he shouldn’t be looking. Probably why he recalled the group of girls he passed.

He too thought he was smarter than everyone else.

Unfortunately I have experience with people who must get their way about everything. It is exhausting and one begins to give them their way to avoid the drama and emotional punishment they inflict upon you if they do not.
As you stated, it is surprising because until now I believed that she was the alpha and RA the beta in that relationship.
Boy, was I wrong.

I was wrong too. Edited my first sentence for clarity.

She may have been more of a nagger or whiner until he got mad, then she may have cowered. Hard telling, really. They deserve one another as far as I am concerned.

Yes, they certainly do deserve each other. It is one thing to believe in someone's innocence, it is quite another to have zero respect and empathy for the grieving family's.
She lost any sympathy I may have had for her when she laughed in court with her SIL during heartbreaking testimony about the girls wounds.

Yeah, you can believe your partner is innocent and still feel horror at the details of the murder of two children. I can't imagine laughing about it.

Was the entire RA interrogation tape played for the jury? Wow.
Yes. The Holeman interview from 26OCT22 was played during trial & requested by the jury during deliberations, IIRC. The videos were evidentiary requests made by a YT content creator & sent to him from the Delphi court, according to what he stated during his original live stream.

Allen was offered a polygraph but refused.

“When I asked about a polygraph, he said, ‘No, I’m not going to help you.’ I asked that a couple of times before Kathy came in the room. I said, ‘We either find evidence to help people prove they are innocent or guilty. Let us help you.’”

Allen protested, saying he had anxiety, so Holeman said he explained that the test is performed by finding a baseline that would account for that.

“I asked Kathy, ‘If you were innocent, would you take a polygraph?’ and she said, ‘Yes, yes I would.’ That’s when he stood up toward the end of the interview. All that was redacted from what the jury saw.”

i admit that i got this all wrong.

i defended this monster - i accept having seen these recordings - he is clearly BG, ergo he is clearly involved in this horrible crime.

i'm big enough to acknowledge when i was wrong.
Please don't feel bad if you do. It's not necessary.

We all chew over cases with what little we know and our own instincts. We're going to end up feeling strongly one way or the other, and we're all going to be wrong at times because we are not working with all the information.

What matters is that we're able to talk it over with mutual respect, whatever our beliefs.

What matters here is that the people who needed to see this did. The police, and the jurors, and they used everything presented in court to act for all of us.

We are all going to be wrong, and that's okay. What matters is that you care about justice for the girls, and that didn't change.

I admire that you’ve come here to say this, though we all get it wrong sometimes!

I’m sorry you had to have this rude awakening.

Don’t beat yourself up—-if it was these confession recordings and hearing his voice more clearly that gave you the epiphany, remember that the jury had seen and heard them.

They knew.

Many of us BELIEVED we knew BG was definitely RA, but it is the jury that counts and they had access to this proof before we in the public did.

As Shadow said, your interest was the same as those of us who were sure he was guilty——you wanted justice for Abby and Libby, and now you can rejoice with us that the man who did it will be locked up for 130 years!

My impression was she wanted to be married in Delphi. Married out of high school, as they grew older he ended up an awful person so she pretended he was just a toddler and ignored his bad behavior, which continued to get worse, and she was stuck being PollyAna to his wizened baby act.
