GUILTY Abby & Libby - The Delphi Murders - Richard Allen Arrested - #220

Agreed.

18 minutes is a long time.

I think Abby and Libby begged for their lives, and he either toyed with them or briefly considered it (which is why Abby found dressed).

I think it's possible that, cold, Abby was standing with her arms inside her sweatshirt, protecting her core when RA injured Libby, and Abby fainted, the phone landing beneath her as she fell. Libby starts to run, RA reaches her by the tree and injures her mortally before injuring Abby mortally. Hell awful. Such vulnerable victims.

Demented killer.

I was under the impression from Gray Hughes video of the timeline from the PCA that RA was with the girls for over and hour and a half.

I saw your 18 minute comment and wonder if I am mistaken. Do you know for sure?

The phone stopped moving at 2:32 and it was under Abby so that's an indication to me that she was fatally injured at 2:32 and never moved from that location, even as she sadly bled out. I think RA remained at that location for a long hour after that. How long before Libby was fatally wounded, I can't say. The 18 minutes is from DTH to the phone stopping, a period of time we know with reasonable certainty that both little girls were alive with a perverse madman. Horrifying.

Ok, gotcha.. I see. Different time lapse segment.

I wonder how little Ricky is settling into life as a convicted Felon? Also wonder how often KA and RA's mom are visiting.

As predicted, very little to no continued MSM or even SM coverage. Just another despicable child murderer convicted and sent to prison where he'll stay until they carry him out in a pine box. Sooner rather than later, by his own hand I believe. Where is he going to get all of the props, admiration and reassurances now?

I could be completely wrong, and maybe RA is thriving in a mostly solitary, structured environment with the trial concluded and all of his dirty little secrets exposed to the public. No more having to hide in plain sight.

I totally agree but I think he actually did show SOME remorse by confessing to the crime before he got more advice from his defense team and then clammed up and took it to trial.

I think his episode when he lost his mind, ate paper, feces, etc was when he actually realized he would spend the rest of his life in jail. THT was the big adjustment and he was in jail for so long that he has probably accepted his fate and is making the best of things.

However, I hope he never forgets what he did to those poor girls and remembers that is why he is where he is... nobody's fault but his own.

I don't think his confessions were genuine remorse at all. I think the realization of a being found out and the knowledge of a lifetime to be spent in prison fueled those. He only briefly, once, I believe, said he was sorry for killing Abby.

I hope he sees their innocent sweet faces every night when he closes his eyes. He left those poor girls broken, with their throats cut and bleeding on the ground. He is a monster.

The humidity is starting to settle in here in IN so hopefully he’s not basking in AC the majority of the time.

Court clerk asked for an extension on the transcripts so more delays from that, from my understanding.

He was trying to act like he was having a mental episode for sympathy or the way he was being treated during his incarceration. It was planned & likely not out of remorse. That thing only thinks of ONE person at almost all times.

I hope he still has that taste in his mouth for all the good it did him.

I still would like to make sure Richard Allen drove home between 2:30 and 5 pm. We know due to the phone stopped moving at 2:32pm that the killer was in the woods with Abigail Williams and Liberty German. During Richard Allen's first interrogation he seemed to accept that it was his car on the Hoosier Harvest Store video passing by at 1:27pm. But the car is heading towards the old CPS building lot and not away from it.

I know I would want to review all the surveillance video from the Hoosier Harvest Store from between 2:30pm and 5 pm. I would also want to review all the surveillance video from businesses on Main Street in Delphi. Last, I would want to review any surveillance video from the gas station off the exit for US 421 if he took Rt 25 home or maybe from the credit union or high school near his house since Richard Allen lived close to both of those locations. I think those are the three most likely driving routes Richard Allen would have driven home after the murders.

His wife said he was at home sleeping on the couch when she arrived home around 5pm. Maybe someday a youtuber or podcaster will get the surveillance tapes and find Richard Allen's car with a timestamp to prove the route he drove home and the time?

RSBM. I've missed this, that his wife said anything about where he was at any time that day (other than the "you told me you weren't on the bridge"). If true and if videos were available, his defense team should have found them.

How Richard Allen got home & what he did after he was reportedly last seen walking along 300N matters little to proving he killed 2 girls. Of the 2 jurors who have spoken since the trial, neither have asked what he did afterwards because it doesn’t pertain to the crime - it just answers questions to finish painting a more complete picture. He could have bounced a hippity hop home or flew a helicopter right to his house from the trails but it doesn’t change what happened from the time he stepped on the bridge until he was next seen walking along 300N.

What he did before then is what has him in prison right now & will until either the end of his life or if (God forbid) his conviction is overturned.

He said what he did afterwards - he went on living his life. As a result, he’s now living it where he earned.

I was wrong about the time Richard Allen's wife said he was at home sleeping on the couch. According to the defense, KA would have testified to Richard Allen being asleep on the couch at 5:30pm. I think then I would want to analyze all the surveillance videos along the possible routes back to Richard Allen's house from 2:30 - 5:30pm. Watching 3 hours of surveillance video looking for one car would probably be difficult.

I understand the futility of trying to understand what route and when Richard Allen got home that day, especially since he confessed to the murders over 60 times. But I think it is important to be sure and that type of circumstantial evidence would have been important to me. Richard Allen and his defense have continually claimed he left and was not at the Monon High Bridge trail during the period of time Abigail Williams and Liberty German were murdered.

I would have been impressed if Detective Liggett had showed Richard Allen a surveillance photograph of his car driving home well after the time he claims he left the Monon High Bridge area. If the photograph of his car taken by a surveillance camera was from after 4pm, that would be even better since that is when SC claims she saw a muddy and bloody man Richard Allen walking down 300 N back to his car parked at the old CPS building.

1 hour mark

Duct tape type marks on Abby's face. No adhesive, but a straight like like duct tape across her mouth.

For all those who say they should have screamed...

MOO In some ways lack of video of him proves he went home down i25 then to his house Whiteman because that avoids the camera heavy downtown.
Is there any video of him anywhere in the frame of the false time he tried to establish in his later interview?

What if it was his scarf, he used? Neatly folded perhaps? I don't know duct tape without adhesive and how it should stay in place.

I was looking at the possible surveillance video from the perspective that Richard Allen is guilty so then the only time frame that needs to be looked into is 2:30 - 5:30pm Finding surveillance video of his car driving around between 4 and 5:30 pm would really solidify that he is a guilty man in my opinion even if it does not matter now since he has been convicted and the case is over.

If there is surveillance video of him driving away from the Monon High Bridge area between 1:30 and 2:30 pm that would be a big problem for the prosecution. This is why I could not understand why the defense or the prosecution did not try to figure out the route and time Richard Allen left the Monon High Bridge trail area to drive home. Why not try to verify it to be sure.

His supposed earlier alibi time that he put forth during his second interview needs to he looked at with the same level of importance.
Did the black Focus show up the time he said he was there in the second interview.
MOO obviously not, as his defense would have brought that forward.

The black Ford Focus driving towards the old CPS building at 1:27pm is probably the biggest piece of evidence showing that Richard Allen was arriving and not leaving. It confirms the timeline. About the only way I could see Richard Allen possibly being innocent is based on a different slightly altered version of the timeline.

First, lets describe the timeline the way it probably happened. I know others will say it definitely happened this way, but I am putting forth what is only a possibility.

Scenario 1 (most likely based on the evidence)

RIchard Allen drives past the Hoosier Harvest store surveillance camera at 1:27pm. He arrives 1:28pm at old CPS building. He gets out of his car and walks down the trail first passing the 3 girls at the entrance. BB is seen driving past the Hoosier Harvest store surveillance camera at 1:46pm. She arrives back at the Mears parking entrance at 1:47pm. Right at around 1:47pm Richard Allen walks by the Mears parking entrance as BB is gathering her things to get out of the car and continue her walk on the 501 trail. From the Mears parking entrance it takes 5 minutes to walk to the start of the Monon High Bridge. When Richard Allen passes the Mears parking area he may have even glimpsed the car Abby and Libby arrived in. Richard Allen walks out onto platform 1. BB sees him on platform 1 shortly after about 1:53 pm. Then she walks back down the trails towards the Mears parking entrance and about halfway sees Abby and Libby. Since she is exercising and walking continuously, she sees Abby and Libby around 1:55pm. Then assuming Abby and Libby keep walking they arrive at the start of the Monon High Bridge around 1:57pm. I am assuming Abby and Libby walk slow in this scenario since KG's car is seen driving away at 1:49 pm per the Hoosier Harvest Store video.

Scenario 2 (possibility)

Everything is the same except when Abby and Libby arrive they do not go down the 501 trail first. BB comes back from seeing Richard Allen on platform 1, gets back to the Mears parking area and begins walking down the 505 trail. Richard Allen leaves platform 1 not long after BB and sits on the bench at the 505 trail overlooking the creek while BB is walking down the 505. She sees Abby and Libby near the halfway point of the 505. Abby and Libby get back to the Mears parking area and begin their walk to the Monon High Bridge at around 2pm. They arrive at around 2:05pm. Before Abby and Libby get back to the Mears parking area from walking on the 505, Richard Allen gets up from the bench and walks back to his car and leaves. BB's SUV he probably does still remember sitting in the parking lot.

If Richard Allen's car was seen on any surveillance tape around town it would have to be from between 2:10 - 2:30pm in this scenario. This is why I thought it was important to try to verify when Richard Allen left the Monon High Bridge trail area that day. I know the timing is very tight in this scenario 2 timeline, but I wondered about it because of Richard Allen's statement about seeing an SUV in the Mears parking lot while sitting on the bench when he got up to leave.

Where BB passed the girls is at the bend between Mears and the bridge. The bend is where where the eyeshot opens up from the trail and extends straight down the trail and down the bridge because the trail is old railroad tracks.
There is no chance he did not see or pass the girls.
