GUILTY Abby & Libby - The Delphi Murders - Richard Allen Arrested - #220

  • #761
RA said he'd never loaned the gun out to anyone else, didn't know RL, and that he had never been or hunted at the spot where the bullet was found between the girls.

He couldn't have come up with any other reason why it was found it that exact spot. He boxed himself into a lying corner as lying, liars who lie tend to do.

JMO
MOO
He thought any ejection occurred when racking up on the bridge.

MOO he threatened the girls with gun racking, but since he had a round already in the chamber it expelled that round and it popped into a jacket fold or pocket until it dropped out when he moved in for the physical murder at the crime scene. Then, hidden in the leaf litter, it got stepped into the soil.
This round left at the scene is MOP kind of like the way the knife sheath in murder of the college students in Moscow got left, an item shakes lose and gets left behind from the exertion to commit murder.

100% agree it’s very similar. The little things those who think they’re untouchable overlook & it ends up being a major part of their undoing.

Wouldn’t it be something if the round was somehow laying in the folds of his clothing or a possible plastic bag, tucked into his jacket with a portion exposed, holding his precious beer & after his evil deeds were done, he reached for that beer to take a celebratory swig & that’s when the round became dislodged & fell to the ground?

"There's NO WAY a bullet from my gun..." Except for a way just like you suggest.

He never once thought about that expelled cartridge. Probably assumed it fell into the the river. No way it could land between the girls' bodies eighteen minutes later. Except it did. Because he inadvertently moved it there, deposited it there, and didn't know he'd done it.

It is a very sick, very small man who dominates two little girls. Unfair fight, he had a gun and they had no way to run and nowhere to run to. I wouldn't waste a single minute of my life on a phone call to him.

His denial of the cartridge is its own confession. You can almost hear the rusty wheels of his mind trying to turn. He knows when, where and how many times he racked the slide. His dumb confidence in his idiodic statement owes to him recalling being at the bridge -- never occurred to him it might've spit into his pocket only to fall out later. Plus he's a simpleton. His go-to line when questioned -- deny. Deny deny divert. And when that fails -- "I love you." I didn't. I wouldn't. You know me. I love you.

Gross.

What gets me is those men named and forever accused of being child murderers have no legal recourse what-so-ever. So not only did they leak children's death photos, they've slandered people who had nothing at all to do with these evil acts...and that too is on the internet, for all time😡
That sort of careless behavior is what to this day feels like a thorn in my side. The people who did that work not 5 minutes from my home & go about their day, mingling around my community, eating lunch in local restaurants, drinking in the local bars & carrying on as if it’s no big deal. Just living their lives. No wonder they got along so well with their client, they seem to have the same sense of morality.

Ick. What a creep.

More like there’s NO WAY he can remove himself from that bridge at that particular time the girls were also there. They got him, bless their hearts.

MOO Sounds very likely.
I think he pulled the gun out of his right hand pocket by the barrel, grabbed the grip with his left hand and racked before getting it settled back in his right hand.

In this scenario the round would have ejected toward him, and as you note found its way into the folds of the plastic grocery sack with beers stowed in his jacket.

Exactly. The lie he did not see them cannot be undone.

While anything is possible & I’m not attempting to cast doubt on your thoughts, isn’t that a very odd way to insert a gun into one’s coat/jacket pocket? I’m not a gun owner so maybe it’s a safety thing of which I’m not thinking (pointing away from vital area) or a weight thing, grip end heavier with loaded magazine & prevents from accidental falling out? Just curious what your thoughts might be.

TIA

MOO its unusual for sure. Probably most gun owners would have a holster. I think he has it stuffed backwards in his pocket because walking with it the other way with the grip out would have the heavy grip with its loaded magazine flapping and banging every step.

Got to episode 2 and suddenly it’s his wife talking about them dating and their life 🤮

Why would I care about a vile man who brutally killed two young girls?

ETA - or her delusion ramblings about what a wonderful man dear old Ricky is.

It doesn't matter how good one's husband is if he sometimes slaughters little girls.

He is a monster and the fact she is trying to make out like he is a victim is laughable.

Well, that wasn’t what I was expecting. It came across as very sympathetic towards a man who was found guilty of killing Abby and Libby.

It’s crazy how young Anna Williams was when she had Abby and the fact that Abby was her only child. But nope, let’s gloss over such matters and spend time with Ricky’s enabler wife telling us what a good person he is.

Anna lost everything that day and my heart still breaks even now. I hope if she wants in the future that she can still have other children and marry.

Libby’s family are also remarkable strong but completely different family dynamics.

I think he fanaticized and practiced chambering the round and ejecting it whenever he took it on the trails. Maybe that day he had an ejected round in his right coat pocket where he had the gun. (Spare bullets so to say). When he was moving the bodies around bending over posing them and kneeling down to lay the branches and sticks over their bodies.. that is when the round fell out of this coat pocket.

Thank goodness for that evidence and thank goodness Libby kept her video on to capture him in the background walking towards them.

And special thank goodness to the woman who saved the case who found the old file showing RA admitting he was on the trail on that day and around that time. If that file wasn't stumbled upon by her, we would still be here wondering who killed those lovely girls and justice would be to no avail.

On the .000000001 chance Richard Allen is actually innocent, has anyone made the connection with Andrew James McGann who just brutally stabbed a couple (potentially intended target their young daughters) in an Arkansas state park? He’s bounced around, stabbing is his MO.

There isn't a .000000001 chance Richard Allen is innocent.

AJM is one messed up individual but this crime was committed by Richard Allen 100%.

jmo but the bridge guy looks/dresses very different from AJM. BG has a beer belly & is wearing jeans & carhart jacket. He seems dressed appropriately for the cold weather (and not all in black or with fingerless gloves like ajm).

His clothing wasn’t based on the weather, IMO. It was slightly warmer than normal for mid-February in the northern 1/3 of IN that day. Abby was pictured wearing a thin zip up type hoodie, IIRC, & no hood, stocking hat/toboggan/beanie.

The clothing worn by BG/RA was intended to obscure his face & body. This is confirmed by 1 of the 4 girls who testified she saw BG/RA near Freedom Bridge (RV). She stated, among other things, that he seemed to be overdressed for the weather that day & she thought he had a face covering of some sort. Another of the 4 girls (BW) also testified he seemed to be walking quickly, or with a purpose.

He appears to be looking downward to help obscure his face in the images I’ve seen, but that is subjective.

With all that said, some of their testimony is inaccurate regarding very specific characteristics (approximate age, height, eye color, etc.) but those kinds of inaccuracies or mistakes are common with eyewitness testimony.

Not that you’re questioning these events or testimonies, but to go full circle to what this all means….

We know RA saw those girls from his interviews with LE. The girls saw him. That establishes the time RA arrived. Other than those girls & BB, RA never stated he saw anyone else that day. Why didn’t he also see BG or mention another man? Because it was most likely him & he couldn’t admit to it & he had no clue there were witnesses who placed him there at his original time of 1:30-3:30 (from his 2017 statement to DD) instead of his lie in 2022 of being there earlier. He thought he could change his timeline & remove himself from being a POI. He thought he could lie his way out of it but ultimately it ended up being his undoing. He put himself there during key times & had every excuse in the world other than removing himself from the bridge at those key moments.

RV reported testimony:

[SNIP]

Railly Voorhies was the first of two young ladies called to testify. She says she was walking on the trail with her sisters and a friend and taking photos near the Monon High Bridge on February 13, 2017.
[SNIP]
While walking along the trail to go home, she said she didn't see anyone on the path past Freedom Bridge. However, she said she did pass a man who did not wave back at her and "did not seem to be a happy person" near the Freedom Bridge.

Voorhies said she was supposed to be home by 2:30 that afternoon.

Voorhies provided this description of the man she passed. She said he was:

  • overdressed for the weather
  • Caucasian
  • a larger man with a big build
  • wearing dark clothes
  • had his face covered by a running mask over his nose and mouth
  • walking with his hands in his pockets
  • wearing a hat
  • muscular
  • dirty blonde hair
  • brown eyes
  • wrinkly kind of face
  • square jaw
BW reported testimony:

[SNIP]

During testimony Wilber shared that she remembered walking past a man while walking back toward the start of the trail.

She described the man, she identified as "Bridge Guy" as creeping her out while he, "walked with a purpose."

Wilber shared she posted a photo to snapchat of the bridge that day, and Libby messaged her asking if she was at the trail. She replied they had left 10 minutes prior.

She said the man caught her attention on the trail that day because, "it was warmer that day, and he was dressed in many layers, walking with a purpose. He gave me weird vibes."

Wilber's testimony ended during shortly after cross examination where she described "Bridge Guy" as:

  • 20s-30s
  • a taller man
  • something covering his mouth
  • blue or black jaket
  • couldn't see his har
  • muscular
  • wearing something on his head
Wilber testified that she believed the man she saw walking on the bridge was the man seen in the photo shared by investigators.

Large or taller man, big build, muscular, 20-30 yo - that doesn't sound well, I have to confess. BUT Richard Allen definitely showed, it was him.

I always think it's super interesting with eye witness testimony as it is completely down to the individual how they interpret what they're seeing.

He might be a small man but in that moment, with the girls feeling uneasy around him, he may have seemed much larger.

They're teenagers so I wouldnt think too much into how old they thought someone was. My age fluctuates around the teenagers I work with from early 20s to late 40s depending on how I'm dressed and how particularly savage theyre feeling on the day 😅

Luckily, he put himself on the trail passing those girls at the very time they said they saw bridge guy. Timestamped by their photos, messages to Libby and out of Richard Allen's own mouth.

Try as he might, he will never be able to get himself off of the bridge at that time.
