Not certain but it seems like it's gone quieter now ?
No requests for the public to help search, or at least to check their outbuildings, etc.

This is looking grim, and how I wish they'd been found earlier, hungry and bug-bitten & scratched but ok !

That's a good point

Rural neighbors will often be asked to check their properties and that hasn't happened here.

They've asked everyone to stay away from the search areas.

It's gone very quite :(

I think their waste pick-up is on Tuesdays FWIW

Looking further, IF it is Tuesday, as it seems, its actually every other Tuesday so they would have had trash collection Tuesday April 22 and not again until Tuesday May 6th FWIW.

‘I can’t provide any additional details as I don’t want to jeopardize the investigation’

Maybe I am reading too much into the choice of words but I read that as something more criminal 😩
I agree with this assessment of words

Fairly new to the case, but was wondering the status of the children's biological father/paternal side of the family. I keep hearing about the step dad, but was wondering if the bio dad and his family has been ruled out.

They haven’t publicly ruled anything out or spoke about bio dad. I’m sure they would’ve went down that avenue by now though.

Investigation wise I think the quieter the better.

If they believed public may have info they don’t then they would make that please. RCMP has taken heat for being too tightlipped in situations to the detriment of public safety. They’re going to avoid that now.

That being said they have put out the general “if you know something call this number”

Did you read the post I responded to? I haven’t noticed anything to indicate a connection with these missing children and public safety.

In my opinion

If you take the parents at their word and they are truthful in describing what they heard/saw/did that morning then they were at minimum neglectful that morning.

Personally I don’t take them at their word for many reasons.
Absolutely-those two are at best, neglectful parents. That doesn’t mean they are guilty of anything else though…but your mind could wander in that direction pretty easily.

Agreed. Find it hard to argue against that part now. Kids are victims.

This is the Canadian equivalent to what’s commonly stated in the US about the necessity of “protecting the integrity of the investigation”. It’s not only a Canadian thing to be tight-lipped. It doesn’t necessarily mean anything more than they don’t discuss details about an ongoing investigation.

There was an alert sent out to several areas the day of the disappearance iirc. It was mentioned in several of the early media articles.

Perhaps it was this?

I do remember that, and someone mentioned a number to call.

But in my experience of following missing person cases where abduction is suspected there's usually follow up requests. Like if you have a camera on this street please contact, if you saw a van similar to this one. If they suspect the kids of roaming they might ask as mentioned above please check your outbuildings.

Nothings has been requested, they've asked public to stay away, and haven't provided any further updates that might be helpful such as if the parents noticed Jack's favorite pajamas are missing etc.

No they haven’t asked for any further assistance from the public, perhaps because they have no reason to require it. All we can do is wait patiently for the next update. I’m certain the media is requesting when that will occur.

Yes those two were certainly neglectful in the care of the 4 and 6 year children. Then the kicker is each essentially told the same story, openly admitting their neglect in supervision of the children without shame or hesitation. I maybe can excuse a step-parent a little but the biological mother was just as distant.

Makes you think that was the most positive way the story could be spun…

Certainly an interesting choice to go with left in a pull-up and boots.

Wish he’d expand on the definition of a ‘positive outcome’ at this point in time.

“The municipality’s warden Robert Parker says many people are struggling with the unknown.

“There’s a concern about what happened,” he said.

“There’s a lot of apprehension. Do you let your little ones out of sight? Do you let them just play as they normally do?”

The warden also urged the public to avoid spreading speculation online and to be patient as the RCMP continues its work. He adds the community is proud of the effort by the search and rescue teams and is hoping for a positive outcome.
