CANADA Canada - Jack, 4 & Lilly Sullivan, 6, Vulnerable, wandered from home 10am, Gairloch Rd, Landsdowne Station, Pictou County, NS, 2 May 2025 #3

I also place little stock in anything DM says and I don’t really believe he cares what the public thinks, even though he says he does. If he was able to solve the case it wouldn’t still be unsolved, soon going into the third week, so as far as I’m concerned he has nothing helpful to offer.

I never said the police can tell him what he can say. I said between the media and the police he wouldn’t be allowed to speak on behalf of 3rd parties ie that’s what he can’t say. It’s also possible his media interviews have been edited, that’s not entirely unheard of as it’s not as if they’re broadcast live. I wouldn’t be shocked if the RCMP review all the video prior to the media publications.

IIRC this discussion originally began only because I mentioned the possibility someone had mentioned to MBM they’d noticed the children playing in the yard that morning, which would be a possible reason she seemed to know it occurred without witnessing it, and then why such a person might not be publicly named in the media, if indeed that had occurred. That’s all. My apologies if you were not intending to further that discussion.
The RCMP does not review broadcast news interviews or footage before it airs.

so now im thinking if RCMP told him they were flying someone in, they might have been calling his bluff. I cant see them doing that? They spent so much money on that search, I dont know what they would consider reason to bring one in? I mean other than DM's wish list

RCMP collect evidence: Officers arrive at the Sullivan residence and ask Daniel Martell to turn over his phone. Martell states that he complied and handed it over

I think it's a possibility RCMP is asking him if he'd willing to take one to see what he says, collecting his phone, searching his trailer , etc.

And he's turning around saying things like he gave them his phone. Technically true that he gave it, but they came looking for it.

“Post any officers they can get, at the New Brunswick border and P.E.I. … and get them out at every airport possible,” he said.

That's interesting to say any Officers they can get. Not some. Like get all Officers over there, away from here.

She is saying and questioning many things, that some of us have been saying and questioning here all along. 😊
Thank you for sharing this.

Another poster brought up the fact that no online fundraising has been launched. How responsive has the local community been ? Was a vigil held at any point ? Unless I'm completely missing something or using the wrong search terms, it feels like there is more concern/responsiveness from the rest of the country and internationally than in the immediate vicinity .

There is a collection of toys and things going

Daniel Robert Martell, the children's stepfather, told the National Post of the morning they went missing: "She had a pink shirt on. We could hear Jackie in the kitchen. A few minutes later we didn't hear them, so I went out to check. The sliding door was closed. Their boots were gone

That is so bizarre to me to point out the sliding door was closed. If so, how can they be sure that's how they got out. There's more than one door, windows too.

Moo
Maybe the other doors were all locked up, so they knew they couldn’t have exited that way.

There's also windows and the possibility someone came and took them somehow.

It's different to say we think they went out the sliding door vs. They went out the sliding door and were playing in the yard, but we didn't see or hear them.

The problem we have is that we (and LE to some degree) only have the time scales provided to us by MBM and DM. How accurate they are is anyones guess. Now say something happened 24 hours before they were reported...that leaves a whoooolllllee lot of opportunity for the children to be much further afield

I think that the plea for safe return is more of an American style thing. So, I certainly wouldn't think less of parents who don't do this. To me it seems like the media is taking advantage of grieving parents when they expect them to make that kind of plea.
Certainly a plea for safe return is done in the U.K and I am pretty sure it is done in other countries too.

* How is the cell service there? Intermittent? Do they have a landline?
* Is anyone in the house on any prescription meds?
* Has the ground completely thawed? The Farmer's Almanac says last frost is May 26 (I linked it a while back), but when is the ground soft enough for digging (not planting a garden)?
* Does the sliding door have a lock?
* What is the acreage of the property? How much of the property is wooded?
* Would someone driving down the road get a clear view of the front yard of the house?
* Would the school bus driver drive down that road as part of his normal route if the kids were out sick and didn't need to be picked up there?
* How many vehicles are registered to the address?
* What is the last day DM was verified to be at work (punch card etc.)?
* Are there motion sensor lights at the sawmill?
To that last one I'd add, motion sensor lights with cameras...gives me heebie jeebies to even ponder that one.

Well they had to call at some point, that would look incredibly suspicious, to put it mildly, if their two kids disappeared and they didn't report it.

Are 911 calls in Canada recorded? Are those calls ever released?

There have been cases in the U.S. of parents of missing children calling the non-emergency line OR driving to the police station to make the report. And in those cases, speculation is they didn't want a recorded call that could become public record. So if someone says, "Well at least they called 911," I get that, because some people actually don't call 911.
