The search manager in charge of the efforts looking for two missing Nova Scotia children says she believes they are somewhere in the woods. Amy Hansen was part of a team of search and rescue officials that spent 12,000 hours in the thick forest of Lansdowne Station. She spoke with the CBC's Kayla Hounsell.
And this would be a good way to lower the high alert of a kidnapper should there really be any kind of abduction they have a lead on. JMO. It's not like LE never lie or misrepresent to get something done or anything.....

I just despair that they were lost, and the terrain seems so very overgrown and rough that it could be years before they are found. This is from Google Maps, to show the terrain of the area.

Seeing that video and hearing about the child-sized boot print though... it is really making me start to think they did wander in there and are just hidden. Crazy making
I’d be interested in knowing the distance between the home and the spot where the boot print was found.
I’m also curious to know, how is it that only one boot print was found? Surely there would have been plenty of areas where it was muddy enough to leave boot prints.
IMO

after seeing the interview, I believe him
and I don't suspect Mom
but that doesn't preclude others known to the family being involved IMO

Yeah, I wonder if they did have parties or associated with unsavory characters.

Okay so a reward under Nova Scotia’s Major Unsolved Crimes fund has been offered for information to solve Lilly and Jack’s disappearance, but the disappearance doesn’t necessarily have to involve a crime. Make sense?

I just don’t get why the RCMP are so stuck on this only being a missing persons case. There surely is a reason for that.

“The province announced the reward on Thursday under a program that is typically used to bring to light information that can lead to arrests and convictions in specific unsolved major crimes.….

……Justice Minister Becky Druhan said RCMP asked for the case to be added to the rewards program. She said the disappearance has been difficult for many people and has garnered interest from around the world.

"The program does consider and have the opportunity to include cases that relate to missing persons, so it very much fits within those parameters," she said in an interview.

"If we can do anything at all to support the investigation, we will do it, and in this case this is a lever we can pull. So we're hopeful that the inclusion of the Sullivan case in the rewards program may lead to some information that will help in solving the case."

There are currently 122 unsolved cases where the province is offering cash rewards for information. Most of those are homicides, but roughly 20 involve missing persons.”

“RCMP weren’t allowed to tell me, I asked” was what he said when asked about the result of Maleyah’s polygraph. I believe you misheard. It would be easy to mishear “she didn’t tell me” I had to replay it to myself 3 times to be sure.
The question about Maleyah’s polygraph begins at about 4:40 in the video.

oh so strange ... I replayed it three times and heard it again lol thanks for the correction

Unless they are trying to tempt someone out of the woodwork as they are unsure if there is a criminal element involved and prehaps creating a monetary incentive might make a person come forward that has otherwise not

I wonder if there will be any negative ramifications of the child welfare agency for acting/not acting after their assessment from the prior months? Globe & Mail The Minister of Opportunities&Social Development answered " Asked whether a review has been ordered into his agency’s prior interaction with the children, he said: “As minister, I’ve seen a report. I’ll talk to that. I’ve personally seen the report. I asked for it,” he said. “I’m aware of how our department was involved in this.”

In addition to the comments re DM suggesting in video that he knows more, or there is other stuff going on, or that a piece of blanket was found, I hope he has informed LE of all he knows, as he could be charged with falsifying information, obstruct justice etc. And if any of the stuff running rampant on SM is true........ wow... just wow...........

I'm with the RCMP, I dont' think those kids are in the bush, but it wouldn't hurt to satisfy all, if they ran two cadaver dogs in for half a day. I think the RCMP know the kids are still alive, and I think they know which direction to look. Hopefully, they have all the wire taps running 24/7, and unmarked cars burning up the gas surveilling.

All MOO. In light of the happy finding of 3-year-old CB alive, I've been musing more about what might have happened with J&L. In DM's newest interview, his story of what happened that morning has shifted a bit (that he ran outside immediately, looked for about 30 seconds and when he came back in, MBM was already on the phone with the RCMP; a change in who was asleep and for how long etc.). Between DM's shifting stories and MBM's continued silence (which her family claims the RCMP requested, and the RCMP denies), I feel more sure than ever that they both know what happened to J&L. In MBM's only interview, she says "they'll talk to anyone, they'll talk to anyone in a store." Coincidentally (or not?), the last confirmed sighting of J&L was in surveillance footage from a store in New Glasgow. Since they haven't been found deceased, and IMO DM and MBM didn't have the smarts or means or time to clean up a death scene, I wonder if J&L ever came home from that shopping trip, and that perhaps they are alive and living with people known to Daniel and Malehya.

I respect your opinion but I'm going to add . High Intelligence is not a requirement of how well a scene is cleaned . We have seen many cases where the perpetrator is of what many would deem of low intelligence and they have gotten away with murder for years . Cases that come to mind where the perp appears to be uneducated might be Fred and Rose West , . Scissor sisters Charlotte and linda mulhall , Richard satchwell The list goes on and on . All early school leavers , all got away with murder for months or years . All cleaned up crime scenes.

Intelligence comes in many forms not just the scholarly kind imo

I suspected that there may have been an open child welfare case prior to the disappearance of Lilly and Jack. Also, do to some of the intellectual delays mentioned, I also wondered if the home environment might have contributed or be correlated in some way to the delays. Hence, a child welfare referral in this regard isn’t a surprise to me.

When I said they didn't have "the smarts", I didn't mean to imply that this had anything to do with their level of schooling (I don't know their level of schooling) or their intelligence. I meant that with the level of forensic technology, increased surveillance and CCTV, drone usage etc. it's harder to outsmart investigation techniques currently in use.

We also have to take into account that whatever was going on was initiated months prior to LJ's disappearance. The 64,000 dollar question remains, who initiated the investigation and who might benefit from the result?

From the Gobe and Mail link posted, it indicates the report to child welfare was initiated by someone at the school according to Martel.

“The visit was prompted by concerns that had been relayed by someone at the children’s school and related to their developmental delays, Mr. Martell said.”

I added the link on my post. It isn’t pay walled :)

ETA - However, I notice the article seems to disappear. But if you put the following in your search engine you will find the article:

Missing Nova Scotia children were assessed by child welfare agency months before disappearance
