Strange her blanket would be in trash. My inclination would be to save all her little things for memories unless of course they were dirty etc. was this the pink fabric on that window in photo? If pink fabric was in bin in garage, does that mean garbage pick up day hadn’t occurred, or did they not have garbage services being that rural? Where I live rural homes take their garbage to local dump, I wonder if checked?
Where are you getting information that the blanket was found in the trash? I've looked online on several NEWS sites and found nothing. The only place I've seen mention of it is on FB where random people are providing questionable information. Can you provide your source? Thanks.

I think we’re getting caught up in mundane details mistaking it for news. Even if a ratty old blanket was thrown in the trash would that be really unusual considering it’s quite likely Maleyha had already been planning to leave in advance of when she did? Given the state of the yard, anything could’ve blown in the wind and nobody would’ve been the wiser. JMO

Can anyone expand on why the blanket piece is important information? It’s not as if Lilly was a baby swaddled in this blanket when she was ripped from her mother’s arms. If the RCMP didn’t investigate it thoroughly at the time it was found, if they’re mentioning only now to give people optimism that their investigation has reason to be progressing, I’m not impressed. :(

The video is interesting as it shows the trailer patio doors and the place they played in the woods.

Scroll down to "Family shows property where missing N.S. kids last seen", at timestamp 3:55 it also shows the pink window covering in place.

I'm on a cell phone right now, so that 3:55 timestamp might be a little bit before or after. I had trouble getting it paused with my big fingers on this tiny little screen.

I can only answer above queries in this manner. I did post a snapshot of Globe & Mail July 16th article written by Globe @Mail journalist Lindsay Jones Staff Atlantic reporter, which was against WS rules as it’s behind a paywall. I do t know if I’m allowed to quote it without proof, but could send in DM?? It was said, blanket found on Landsdowne Rd, which is a little ways from 1407 Gairloch Rd (their home), and the rest was found by DM in the week old trash. If anyone has a Globe&Mail subscription, here is addy Lindsay Jones article what is the importance of blanket? I don’t know, but queried if same blanket or sheet on one of the trailer windows (refer back to previous posted photos) which might have some possible relevance.
The finding of a piece of blanket by family or SARSetc is very confusing. Its location was missed by the search team and found on the pipe line, hence the request for an added search. I think the pink blanket is becoming a jumble of facts of two blanket entities!
I don’t have a lot to offer re cbc interview of JM, Is she credible? If it got there, what would a lawyer do with her on the stand. I wonder if cbc contacted her or the other way around?
The planets have collided, the perfect opportunistic stranger abduction occurred.a rural road, kids in yard, no one around, kids not in school, early am, possibly two abductors, one a woman, no stranger danger training in kids……..reminds me of little Tori Stafford.Tori Stafford…. No Amber Alert for her either. But woman was casually known by mother…..didn’t MBM say the kids would talk to anyone, they were friendly.
The worst of all of this is.. who took them and what did they do to them?
What are the stats on found kids alive or bodies? Time frame?

3:45 JM said that at the time or by the time the cops arrived, she went into her camper. Unless she really needed to use her bathroom, I wonder why she would not be present. The kids had just gone missing.
I wonder if there is any dialogue missing, such as
“Have you seen the kids?”
“Did the kids come into your camper?”
They went straight to saying they’ve been missing for 20 minutes

Did she actually hear voices
She said the kids especially Lily were always shouting and yelling when they were outside, but she didn't specifically say that it was so this time. I took it as understood in the context, but I can understand that not everybody will see it that way.

My overall synopsis is the children were killed or handed off in a moment of rage and by the time RCMP were called the kids were hidden
When do you think the children were killed - the evening before? or Thursday really early (6am)? or...?? Where do you think they were hidden? And when?

By handed off do you mean given to somebody else?

someone ( janie) at the heart of the investigation says with conviction that she believes the kids are alive
I do find her believable, but not necessarily this statement. She believes the kids are alive because she hasn't felt her heart drop, the way some people do when something awful happens. It could be though that imagining the children are deceased is so awful for her that for the moment she's not willing to even countenance it, she's just not going to that place in her feelings.

Another example of this: Against all logic, rational thought, statistics etc Madeleine McCann's parents still think she's alive. I think it's a self-protective measure, from having to face the possibility that your children or grandchildren may be deceased.

All MOO

Is the swing set located beside the bedrooms of DM and mbm
Su5ie, how about you watch the CBC interview! You'll see where the swing set is in relation to DM/MBM bedroom.

Not directed at me but

IMO they were probably not alive the night before/during the night - I don’t have any specifics to support that except it’s unlikely to have occurred that early in the am and it’s been how I felt since the beginning

I do think grandmothers account is accurate just not the part about hearing the kids. I think this was added because of how she says it and that I find very few other scenarios plausible if she did hear the kids anyway

Thank you very much for your reply. You reminded me of another gripe of mine, when this step-grandmother said she thought the children are still alive why didn’t the reporter delve into that even the slightest asking her if she minded expanding on her theory ie stranger or family connection? With a stranger abduction, the odds are not very good that the children would still be alive by now.

I think the 'piece of blanket' could be two things. One, someone misinterpreted the pink ribbons searchers are placing in trees, etc with one that might have ended up on the ground. They are probably all pre-cut to a certain length and could be misplaced or dropped by a search team member. The second is that it really is a piece of Lilly's blanket and was being carried by one of the kid's and somehow they stood on it, tearing it and leaving a shred behind. Or it got caught on some random junk placed around the yard.

Currently handover, with indirect homicide my second thought. MOO. L&J were not known to wander, and the dogs only picked up their scent to the end of the driveway. I don't believe either parent committed homicide; I think there would have been evidence of the crime, if not the hiding/disposing of the bodies. I could see a case where they negligently failed to secure drugs/meds, but I think bodies would have been found by now (or cadaver dogs would have been deployed). Stranger abductions are relatively rare, especially in pairs, and in cases like the Groenes, the rest of the family was murdered before Shasta and Dylan were taken.
So, my current theory (which has a massive hole at the end) is that DM is not involved in the handover plan. MBM wanted out, and arranged for people known to her, most likely in her band, to pick them up early on May 2. She told J&L they were going on a little "vacation" and she'd be joining them later. She walked them out to the road, where their scent trail ends, and they're picked up by car. She went back inside, and DM is still asleep. She brings Meadow into bed and pretends to be "drifting in and out of sleep" and concocts her story about what she heard and whom she heard. When DM wakes up, she panics and tells him J&L are gone, puts a story in his head about what and whom he heard, whether both J&L came into the room and how many times, etc.; the stories differ slightly but both stress how easy the kids would be to kidnap, how they'd go with anyone, and how they never close the silent sliding door. Two days later, MBM takes Meadow and heads off to wherever J&L are.
The massive hole in this story is the RCMP, of course. I don't exactly how they coordinate policing wit First Nations bands, but if they knew the kids were safe with the band, I'm sure they'd make a statement that the case is closed and the children are safe.
All MOO.
I doubt the cops would be okay with a massive coverup that's cost the province hundreds of thousands of dollars, the use of manpower between several forces, the aerial recon with planes and drones, the false narrative that had them chasing their tales. There would be charges to be laid and fines to be paid and if they thought the general population was giving them the side eye now they are in for a rude shock if that did transpire.

If anyone is interested in brushing up on laws pertaining to indigenous peoples and if separate agencies do exist ( see my post above ) these make for good reading

I used to work for the OPP. Indian policing was under the umbrella of the OPP and the OPP was under the umbrella of the Ministry of the Solicitor General. It's gone back and forth between the SolGen and the Attorney General over the years but Aboriginal affairs relating to policing has never been a ministry unto itself. Aboriginal police could investigate anything under the Criminal Code of Canada up to murder or serious assault. Bands are still subject to the laws under the Criminal Code of Canada.

Also just a follow up to this that if J and L bio dad had any kind of custody he would have been notified of that also and bio grandmother on side likely asked for kinship assuming this is similar to US anyway. I don’t know that we’ve had confirmation that bio dad didn’t have any custody just that he wasn’t actively having physical custody
If he gave up all parental rights he wouldn't have been liable for child support. There would be a court record regarding his termination of parental rights. Not parental custody, they are two different things. If he gave up custody he'd still be required to pay child support and the paternal grandmother might have still been ablet to see her grandchildren.
