I feel its his way of saying I miss the kids,I'm sad about the kids being missing but Maleyha is their mother ,I'm only stepdad so she must be feeling awful . Just my take on it .

When they broke up the day after the kids going missing I did think it was a ploy but as time has gone on , I don't think either would be still protecting the other . I think Daniel knows a certain cohort on SM think himself and mbm are guilty of something and I think in each of his interviews its about addressing that without coming out with it directly .

I think he read the room last night and knew there would be brows raised with mbm being a no show for something so poignant. What's his reason for always talking for her idk but maybe he is thinking of himself and knows he will always have to see Maleyha because both are parents to meadow and he doesn't want his daughter growing up and feeling he spoke bad of her mother on a public platform, it can breed resentment in the other parent and that can be festooned onto the child as well

To be honest I'm intrigued by the warden stating he doesn't believe the kids are in the woods . That is a big statement to make . So if they are not believed to be in the woods and its not believed to be an abduction or have a criminality element. What else can it be ?

Or LE have a working theory, I.e., abduction, disposal of -- in the woods, but not enough evidence.

Yeah me too , so much opposing statements and cryptic messaging going on .

Between the statements of we have no evidence to believe the kids are dead to last night's diamond stated by the warden that he believes the kids aren't in the woods to major crimes stating they have no reason to believe a crime has been committed to the RCMP's saying no abduction and the overall sentiment that there is no poi .

And the statement stating that other investigative theories have been put forward .To the silence of mbm until the hand written letter 3 or 4 days ago . To Daniel engaging in cluedo type innuendos . And no scent ,no evidence found during searches and then the interviews with JmcK and WP only adding to speculation and accounts

Timelines and documents giving rise to the belief that not everyone that morning is on the same page . And couple that with mbm seemingly blanking DM on day 2 and leaving the search area .

All manner of family members heaping wood onto a burning fire of rumour and speculation. Reports of cps visitations , school concerns ,black eyes , vehicles heard not seen , rumours of parties , allegations of DV aimed at both MBM and the two children, Meadows circumstances unknown and self admitting declarations from DM of drug use , anger management classes and attending Narcotics Anonymous among other courses . What kind of entangled mess is that ?

Idk about anyone else but I'm confused as hell normally although most cases are not straight forward they are more linear than this . Generally a clear hypothesis would emerge by now , but I'm left with trying to do mental gymnastics to try fit all of the above into the theory of a wandering???

We have similar in ireland, local councillors with the same job description you describe. Not part of government parties but one rung down on the ladder so to speak .

I still find it strange a public figure would make such a statement without having all the investigative facts . It muddles the waters slightly because people do view these figures as speaking from authority imo

I doubt it. Municipal councillors are not privy to RCMP information during ongoing cases. They have no more info than we do. And they have as many opinions about this case as we have.

Then there is private cctv , from maps most of the properties are surrounded similarly to DMs property with thick woods . Would they see a vehicle clearly , was the cameras sensor programmed to pick up every vehicle or just those that past by or entered their property?

And would those cams that may have footage NEAR the area in question have audio? I mean the cams that capture nearby areas, but not necessarily the areas the vehicle was, if indeed there was a (loud) vehicle moving about at that time.

'Tis the point of contention. Iiuc LE said that a review of available video didn't confirm any vehicle or driver, but that doesn't say there were no vehicles. We don't know what kind of coverage there is or even what kind of cameras are in play.

I don't think we can rule out a vehicle. LE has only said, in what they have reviewed, they didn't see one.
