Nope they dont. They backtracked
Ah bugger. I will edit to remove the link. Thanks.Nope they dont. They backtracked
My guess....he bought and paid cash for an e-bike.View attachment 549994
I searched ebike rental google maps NYNY, a bunch came up
being how planned this is, I’d asume he didn’t! Why risk stealing a bike, could be tracked, and he’d need to find a bike to steal at a very precise time. Nothing about this suggests he’d even consider that.Shouldn’t we just assume he stole the bike?
Welcome to Websleuths!Had to finally create an account... the thread moves fast.. so maybe i missed it, but this is the biggest live / real time crime case with main stream interest since the DC sniper..
I also feel the DC snipers taunted with tarot cards, so the taunting angle is somewhat similar to words on the bullets and monopoly money in this case. Has anyone else thought of this comparison or have some mentioned it here and I missed it?
I'm 54 and I stay in them in Europe sometimes. But in the US, besides traveling students, I hear more about unhoused people or people who are struggling financially, and I imagine folks who need to be in NYC but can't afford the exorbitant cost of a hotel in the city.Hostels: Who stays at them other than traveling students?
My guess too Warwick. A used one can be had for $500ish...My guess....he bought and paid cash for an e-bike.
I'm not convinced it was his phone and bottle. I think he planted some evidence and did some other random things just to buy himself a little more time. He had plenty of time to leave stuff (caches) to make his exit (if he left the city). Even though it was well planned, he was lucky that a bystander didn't tackle him, or maybe he'd encounter LE/security after publicly murdering someone in NYC. Amazing that no one has gone to the press or social media to identify him after giving the FBI a tip. The FBI must be getting lots of calls. When I look at his face, the killer could definitely have disguised his nose and/or chin. Without those prominent features he would look very different.Well he supposedly dropped his water bottle and phone in the alley way from 54th to 55th Street that he ran down...so not the smartest tool in the shed, MO
rueters is quoting adams from ten hours ago - they seem to be gaming the public, this at 9:00 (an hour ago) is covering what adams said perhaps at 9 this morning. ?? idkReuters is saying the suspect has been identified!
Citing the NY Post. I'll look for that link.

Very easy they are citibikes, this was confirmed not a citi bikeFor those of you in NYC, how easy is it to rent an eBike? Primarily with cash. I’m familiar with the Citi rentals but this wasn’t one of those. So outside of the Citi ones which basically dominate the city, how else could he have gotten his hands on an eBike short of stealing it?
Bingo! Bam! I agree too.I know that the Post walked back that the investigators knew the suspect's name. But, honestly at this point, with all the info they've collected, and his face out there, I would be surprised if they didn't know who he is.
Wasn't recovered either.Has the make/model of the bike been released?
I would also have stayed in the same hotel as the conference to avoid any unnecessary risks. BT, from everything that I have read about him, is a very smart guy. I just don't believe that he would be sauntering outside alone if he felt unsafe. Better safe than sorry.I find it really strange… if I was getting threats there is no way I would wear bright blue stand out.
I think that goes to say how serious he took the threats. I have a feeling it was just an everyday occurrence to him at this juncture.
