They have his DNA, if I recall correctly. LE knows if the killer is a man or woman.

If I'm wrong about the DNA, correct me. There are a lot of posts to remember.

Oh I am fully on board it was definitely a man. No doubt there. Or question.

What I meant/ am saying is if he did have any help or accomplice … it was after the murder and during the escape after the arrival to the bus station. Where he was last seen.

If he traveled beyond that point either on the bus or once out of sight of any cameras from… I thought it could possibly have been with a woman. Not a male accomplice in leaving the city.

This theory is completely just me spitballing here… all moo… trying to understand how he just disappears after bus station.

Could be and likely … I am completely wrong. Just trying to throw out ideas as to how he just becomes a ghost after the bus station.

Yes. The manufacturer of the backpack says this model of this pack was sold between 2016-2019. Not super likely the shooter hunted down multiple five year old, $400 backpacks…
but
, hey, we now have Monopoly money so… what do I know?
$400 backpack and Tommy Hilfiger jacket...another couple hundred? B&T Station Six-9 costs a couple grand or so. What kind of black and white sneaks did he have on, another $200 or $300? Seems he had funds.

Because the brand itself is a celebration of American culture. It’s very well known for incorporating the American flag imagery across their clothing lines. The logo and colors. It screams Americana.
Im a terrible example of american. honestly i dont know anyone who owns it
but cant make sense of any of it, so this sounds good to me

Symbols are everywhere. Nicholas Cage might make a movie....
That they are. And some people are very symbolic in their thought processes, almost to the point where it becomes magical thinking. As the shooter appear to be very symbolic, IMO . I see so many Cluster B personality traits in this (the monopoly money reported, messages on bullets, and general antisocial behavior). JMO here.
Maybe Nic will be the star too.. ;)

I've wondered once in a while if he actually has an alibi that he has created at his dwelling, where electronically it looks like he is at home and never left? "That guy only looks like me. I've been here the whole time." It sounds odd, but with AI and computer programming, it might be well within the skill set of a trained individual to create a parallel record of activity somewhere else.
Maybe, but this guy had a gun, a backpack, and a bike - and assassinated a CEO on the street. Reminds of me that knife-cutters brought down the Twin Towers. Low-tech.

The most high-tech this will get, imo, is a plane ride outta here.

The plan is where the effort is put, imo, not sophisticated technology.

Or, the use of necessary metal parts for the 3d printed weapons where that is essential. For example, if a metal barrel is necessary, then maybe a fitted metal pipe would be sufficient. If the life of the substitute barrel was only ten rounds, it would be sufficient for the act and the 3d gun would be untraceable after the fact if broken down into component parts with component parts disposed of in different places.
I agree, it is possible to make an untraceable gun and 3D printing makes it easier. JMO

Someone with extensive experience with guns probably wouldn’t have hit someone in the leg…then again they wouldn’t have access to a silencer.

I wonder if it was factory loaded ammo or hand loaded. Also, have they hey said anything what the firearm malfunction was? Was it simply a jam, or was it a misfire? If he left a message on his bullets it seems like maybe he was motivated to spend the ammunition…overkill would leave more casings with his messages…just shooting the breeze here. Thanks all.
One x-LE said in a video posted here earlier that a silencer changes to pressure in the gun that affects the discharge of the shell or the loading of the next round (I don't remember exactly). He said clearing that is why the unspent rounds were found at the scene. I believe he showed experience in calmly and efficiently dealing with it, but also inexperience with that particular weapon or not optimal planning in weapon selection.

It's possible. I, personally, don't believe he'll stop unless he's caught. I keep wondering if this guy views himself as some sort of savior and as the judge, jury, and executioner.
agree these are possibilities, and quite likely a sense of saviour, including judge, jury, executioner (which he's more or less confirmed) but i differ on thinking he will continue; i'm hoping i'm right that it's a one-off. i guess no matter our views of health insurance grievances, none of us want to see this as continued solution to the problem.

“I don’t think I’ve seen this level of operational preplanning in any crime, never mind in a murder,” said Kenneth E. Corey, a former chief of department in the New York Police Department.

Some manhunts end within minutes or hours, but others drag on for weeks or months. Experts say their resolution is usually the result of solid police work, the public’s assistance and a bit of luck.

“Manhunts are all very different, and they get more complicated when they go outside the area,” Mr. Corey said.

Brittney Blair, a former deputy in the Cook County Sheriff’s Office in Illinois, said detectives in New York City face distinctive challenges in tracking down the gunman. Some fugitives make it a game to taunt the police while on the lam, she said, such as the two snipers who terrorized Washington in 2002.

That does not appear to be the case here, she said.

“This subject had a mission, he plotted it out and his plans will be to try to evade capture,” said Ms. Blair, a senior director in the investigations and disputes practice at K2 Integrity, which advises companies on risk management and security.

Because the brand itself is a celebration of American culture. It’s very well known for incorporating the American flag imagery across their clothing lines. The logo and colors. It screams Americana. The official name is Tommy Hilfiger USA, inc. The overarching themes of American capitalism are permeating throughout the details.
<modsnip>
But I think the choice of a Tommy Hilfiger jacket is simply because the shooter likes the brand. Could as well have been Ralph Lauren or whomever designer.
I don't think the jacket makes any particular statement. He just wanted to get rid of it.

Moo...the backpack is quite a few years old, the jacket..is it new?...would be smart to wear used things. Seems like a perfectionist....moo

-- It does appear the coward is leaving behind clues or whatever, playing some type of game
-- No identification of the coward has been made at this time... It’s coming though.
-- The coward’s backpack was found (was there total of two backpacks?). If so, then one backpack is still missing
-- The murder weapon has not been recovered so that tells me the coward most likely has it on person

All opinions only

He went to Starbucks. He went to McDonalds. He buys and wears high-end clothing/items. He's not anti-capitalist he's anti UnitedHealthcare MOO.

<ETA noted re. hypocritical anti-capitalists. I still believe his issue is with UHC not capitalism though as some others theorise>

Took bus to NYC so he had money to buy ebike too

I’m in the camp of “two things can be true at once.”

It’s absolutely true that multitudes of Americans have suffered and died, or watched a loved one suffer and die, because their health insurance company played games with them rather than pay for what they’d promised their customers.

It’s also true that walking up to someone on the street, (who is not directly endangering you at that moment), and then executing him is a crime and a sin and should not be applauded.

I’m not in the camps though that some others are here.

I don’t believe at all that this was a suicide orchestrated by BT.

I don’t believe BT was in some love triangle and was killed by or on behalf of a jilted lover.

I don’t believe his wife had any part in this.

I believe it is what it seems. A cold-blooded execution by a determined showman, who then nonchalantly went about his business getting out of the city.

A man who smiled once and people are falling at his feet and considering him to be their saviour.

Just my opinion(s).

I agree with both of you. I won’t lie originally was fully on board with murder for hire… not professional hitman but someone with a clear grudge out for vengeance against UHC or BT himself willing to pay someone to murder him.

Now… with the added “games” “messages” and evidence left behind… along with mistakes made… hard to imagine the killer working for others leaving behind all of this.

Moo.. I Do believe he had help in some way.

Moo… I’d guess a woman. Specifically for the purpose of getting out of the city. Everyone is looking for him solo or with another male unknown suspect.

A couple together after 10 days solo would make it much harder to isolate spot him on surveillance and add another layer of protection in the escape aspect.
He could have just walked across the GWB from the Port Authority. I wonder if he even got on a bus.

I think it's likely but there's still the possibility that he simply played monopoly with somebody, maybe at the hostel. Reports are that he buried the backpack in the park so it seems unclear as to whether he expected the backpack to be found or not.
M00....
Everything he is doing seems to be methodical with precision. I don't see him leaving mono money in his bag because they were playing some game at the hostel. Besides from earlier links at the hostel he kept to himself and did not speak hardly to anybody.
