That’s definitely a taxi. He looks right at the camera, which is interesting. It’s almost like he knows that by the time LE sees the footage, he’ll be long gone.

Everyone who originally said they saw the Tsarnaev brothers in this guy….bravo, I see it as well. Further supports my idea this guy is southern Russian or maybe a Caucasus state like Georgia or Armenia (could still have American citizenship, but Is ethnically of the region)

Yes, NYC-area 11 pm news just aired them, saying the NYPD just released them. The one from the back of the police car is intriguing!!

You can apply them with makeup, but this would be excellent work if he'd done that, and consistent over multiple days of surveillance photos. You can also get microblading, where a very fine blade is used to tattoo the brows into a thicker shape or fill them in.

I've been very curious about how he made the reservation and the usual deposit required at hostels. You can pay in cash when you arrive, but surely he needed a reservation during holiday season in NYC for that many days. I only hope for that (walk-in luck) in off-season travel. Even with less than a 24hr reservation they will require a deposit , or even full payment. If this was crucial to his plan, he had a reservation made way ahead. How was the deposit paid? The whole reason he chose the hostel was no CC needed on file. Cash payment.

Could have used one of those reloadable visa gift cards. You can buy those with cash at any gas station here without a paper trail. I remember in the UK, I could only order them online and they had to be shipped to a physical address. Couldn’t find them in most European countries.

Every part of this seems as if it was meticulously planned out from start to finish by someone(s), and that he has no plans of getting caught. Laughing at the possibility, even. And so far at least it seems that he may very well be right.

Frankly, I'm not sure that one person could conceive of all of the ideological imagery and innuendo unless he is obsessed about the topic, and if he is obsessed by it then it seems there would likely be folks who would suspect him immediately. Unibomber's brother turned him in as soon as he was able to read the manifesto, for example.

And if this was a personal grievance and not an ideological one, it isn't likely that a game would've been employed here. Personal grievers tend to be more passionate about their specific circumstances and want to keep it intimate (i.e. it tends to be about a specific victim and not making some broad ideological statement).

In any case, just more IMO.

The NYC shooter strikes me as someone who is meticulous, methodical, patient, intelligent with a sense of humour, and whose life may have been ruined, or significantly changed, by something with insurance. I wonder whether it’s something like the family lost their farm because of insurance delay, deny and defend. The animal euthanizer gun makes me think farm.

Hes making a statement, but it seems more personal than stridently making a general statement.

agree with you completely. i wonder though, considering the planning seems so meticulous, creative, and thorough, that perhaps the game aspect is not so much 'game' but a furthering of some thought-out diversion to ensure he avoids being identified and caught. it's becoming quite unimaginable that this shooter has got this far without being caught - except he's put it together with seemingly extremely effective planning, as you say, to not get caught. so far so good, it seems...
