I'm with you and waver on motive. As far as "hired" hitman for #1, #2, #3 I can see NO scenario where the person hiring him would agree to doing it in NYC. With such high odds of getting caught then subsequently incrimination the person who hired him..I dunno, that doesn't make sense to me. That's why I'm leaning toward shooter-specific, meaning, personal vendetta by shooter or personal relationship to BT or extortion attempt gone wrong by shooter. And I absolutely can not get past, me being in corporate America for decades, I can NOT get past BT arriving in that suit without his laptop or briefcase to a big meeting. I'd like to see the footage of who was in or out of BTs hotel room, where his laptop is now, something seems so off about BT on the day of the murder.
And if I REALLY let my imagination run wild, BT entering at 6:40AM without an overcoat or a briefcase looks more like "Hi Mr. Thomson, this is the front desk of the Hilton, someone turned in your missing laptop you can come and get it" As in, maybe the perps stole his laptop then lured him out to retrieve it. If I lost my phone or laptop before a big meeting I would be in a full panic and "run across the street" without my overcoat to get it. Again, this is just what it "looks" like to me. Because I don't care what anyone says, that is not a CEO arriving at a big meeting...without an overcoat on a freezing morning or a briefcase with his laptop inside.

To your last point, LE suspects he rode the bike down to the hotel that morning since it only took him about 10 minutes (source).

I took a walk around the crime scene area yesterday. The gap between 54th and 55th streets is massive and full of cameras. If the bike was placed there, I’m surprised that this information hasn’t been released. It seems like LE doesn't know when he got on the bike to flee northbound, or perhaps they’re just not stating that publicly.

Maybe the bike was locked up on 55th street. I read that he had the bike battery with him, and I‘lol venture that the bike was locked up. It’s not a 100% guarantee that the bike and/or battery would get stolen while he was committing the murder if it wasn’t locked up, but it doesn’t seem like a risk this particular suspect would take.

interesting.... did you feel strange or weird being there???
Is the area still blocked off or anything.....

Law enforcement nationwide should use more resources to solve all the other crimes that are going on.
Money talks. This case does need to be solved, however, somehow.

It does show though, what they can achieve if they put the effort in. I think the perp barely escaped before the authorities were quickly on the scene. Then we had all the info coming out at the speed of lightning. I couldn't see that happening if for example it was a homeless person who had been shot instead. This efficiency should apply to everyone.

The quickness with which they responded doesn't surprise me; NYPD has an enormous presence, especially in mid-town Manhattan. I doubt they knew who the person was when they got the call. It's the follow-up that's certainly disproportionate to what an average person would get. It being such a public and curiously targeted attack made it so, I think.

I don't think it's about tourism, though. I don't think any average person should or does feel unsafe because of this.

Sorry, but what is a jitney and how is it different from a bus? Is it a NY-area term? Dictionary says it's a "bus or other vehicle", which isn't very helpful. Never heard it in my life!
Jitneys are private buses, usually a mini-bus, that run back and forth across the GWB every 3 minutes or so during rush hour. Cash is accepted, and they are cheap, under 5 bucks to Fort Lee across the bridge. Some of the destinations-Fort Lee, Teaneck, Englewood, Hackensack, Paterson, Willowbrook Mall , or points in between if you pull the cord. Or in Bayonne, Union City, North Bergen, Guttenberg, West New York, Journal Square, the Newport Mall. Last part w/possibilities are from a local reporter who thinks they are still far away from IDing this guy. He’s hoping a backpack or coat purchase or something like that will get him. Like Son of Sam’s parking ticket.

The only thing out of the ordinary were a couple of camera crews filming outside the rear hotel entrance and a solitary flower tossed on the ground in the spot BT was shot. Nothing was blocked off. Just a regular, busy midtown street, thronging with people.

I didn’t see any officers in the park either. I must have missed the dive team by an hour or so.

To me he looks male. Also, isn’t that an Adam’s apple in this still?

A CCTV image of a man near a car

This picture … looking at the background. I Being very familiar with 85/86 & Columbus and UWS in general … that stoop & door look wrong for that location. The steps & door especially don’t look right.

Having a street view look around 178/179 where u might get dropped by taxi doesn’t look similar to that either. I’ve been to that bus station a few times by taxi, and subway.

Did he get dropped near a subway station to connect with bus or some distance from the bus?

But maybe … anyone from that area ??

Yeah. Adams did later walk that back, so we don’t know if he was initially exaggerating, or said something he shouldn’t have.
Thank you! I saw a suspect name put forward this morning but can't find it now.

I’ve read it a couple times and I feel like I have to clear one thing up. I also work for a Fortune500 corporation. If anything happens to my boss I have letters on a digital filing cabinet to put out a statement. It’s basically a word document that has red placeholders you fill in, but you name the situation we have a prefilled approved letter/statement. The wife didn’t have a prepared statement in 90 mins. United Health care did and put it out on her behalf. MOO.

Surely the hostel desk clerk would know if he had an accent or not, and possibly the cabbie too. And maybe the SB barista for that matter. Seems like an important detail to know. IMO.

I feel this is deliberately being held from the public.
Somebody could have leaked something...even if grossly inaccurate.

But since we are having to consider every possible scenario under the sun..... a Mastermind of this whole charade.... could also be a mastermind at making and faking accents.

No one I know here in the city feels unsafe because of this. I’m more worried about being killed by a distracted driver.

In this particular case they may be worried that the shooter has more people targeted.

Agree with all your potential motives. I hadn't considered number five, interesting thought.

#5 about hiring his own hit man is interesing since the Justice Dept lawsuit was just filed on Nov 8, 2024. A consideration.

I t was a one day event. The mandatory Annual Meeting for stockholders and stakeholders.
A gentle correction....

It was an Investor Convention. A collection of industry insiders on the forum ( the collective level of knowledge on the forum is amazing) has related that these types of meetings are far more controlled and feature the following:

- Open to current or prospective mega investors only and their support staff. Usually these are investment banks. Other guests might be fund managers and ubber high net worth individuals

- A carefully selected list of invitees. All invited people are known in advance. Nobody can walk in. Likewise, one cannot request an invitation via a pretense or out of genuine interest.

- The identity of the guests are verified via ID checks against the guest list- they dont want security threats, nor annoying protestors. Invitees are then given special badges that they show for re-entry.

It's a matter of budgets though..... everything is undergoing a cutback.

Bet the remaining invitees are a bit concerned. Wonder who they are. Did any give a statement (probably not)?

I was looking at the Interpol site, since I'm questioning whether a wanted person could be listed with a photograph only and no name. The public Red Notices (nearly 7000 individuals) have a name. There is also a Black Notices list, with photos, for unidentified persons but that appears to be only for unidentified bodies. So I don't know. Maybe also a person will only be listed if it's known and proven the criminal has left the country where the crime took place.

This is an excellent point.

I spent a couple minutes with Google maps unsuccessfully trying to find this location.

You are right that it doesn’t look like the UWS, or at least the corner of 86th and Amsterdam. It looks a bit more like the area by the GWB, but I couldn’t find that stoop or door right by the terminal. Perhaps he got out a few blocks away?

I believe this pic is taken up near the GWB post- murder. I already looked on google earth...it looks like that area

anyone else think the hostel photos and the taxi photos look like two different people?
Yes. However, I've seen multiple photos of many different people over the years and thought "They don't look anything alike in these pics", yet they are the same person. A different scenario than this case as the pics we've seen here are "purported" to be the same person. I've even seen different photos of myself, and/or people I know, where I wouldn't recognize them as being the same person. It can happen IMO. I personally like to think the camera is lying when I see a bad photo of myself. lol
