VERDICT WATCH Abby & Libby - The Delphi Murders - Richard Allen Arrested - #214

Who else went to prison as a result of the KAK investigation?
Can’t say all were convicted but in my county alone (~100mi south of Delphi) there were over 120 people arrested & charged in child solicitation stings conducted on or after 12/2020. 2 nabbed over 20 people each which were a record number of arrests for solicitation at that time. Many were not local to the area, and some were from as far away as WVA.

Zero proof it’s connected to KK but I do find it interesting the sheer numbers were historic AFTER KK was arrested.

Not really sure about rules for posting links of this nature, as they name names & show suspect pictures & are unrelated to this trial but the info is readily available via my local newspaper’s website. Feel free to advise for further information.

It is a very weird crime scene. The sticks and branches do seem to be purposely placed, and not as concealment. One girl unclothed and the other with two sets of clothing. And blood on Libby running up her face instead of down her torso. Moving at least one of the bodies 20 feet, but no drag marks.

It makes no sense, but that does not seem to be the scene of someone who hastily murdered these girls after being spooked by a van on the other side of the creek. IMO whoever did this took them right to that spot and spent some time there. It also seems more consistent with more than one bad guy.
What part of anything you wrote in your first paragraph lead to the closing wording on your 2nd paragraph?
I can't see one thing you said that could not be carried out by a single person beyond a reasonable doubt

Gotta be a decent chance of a verdict today!

MOO I find it so incredible to think that if Allen had just kept his mouth shut he would have most likely been allowed to simply live out the rest of his life in the community.

Instead he handed the state their entire case.
Or move away, or buy a new car or just gained a bunch of weight like KAK has since 2017.

The case for RA doing this is strong, but imperfect IMHO. If he did it he is totally insane and of course he has showed that he is pretty close to crazy - and an aggressive crazy at that - rather often. That is the behavioural trait that he displays which goes well with a blitz-attack in the woods. And it is the reason I think he is more likely to be guilty rather than not. That combined with the witness’s accounts.

I don’t envy the jury one bit, though.

IMHO

I just hope Libby and Abby’s families are coping as best as they can in such a horrific situation.

No doubt the rumors that a small selection are sprouting is very hurtful to them as they have shown nothing but dignity throughout but they are nearly at the end of the darkness.

I liked the story of BP bringing the banana bread for everyone in the line. Andrea has mentioned it a few times and what a nice gesture it was.

I don't think he had enugh time to do so imo he was running on adrenaline and drgged her :(
Do you guys think it's possible the sticks were used to move Libby?

I seen a video where a stretcher was made out of sticks.

I don't think he had enough time to do so, imo he was running on adrenaline and just dragged her :(

I agree theoretically----but the problem w/that confession is Dr Wala messed up big time. So people are quick to denounce her and have doubts in her retelling of the event.

If she had THAT confession on tape, he'd get a Guilty verdict , IMO.
That's a shame. Dr. Wala spent more time with RA than any MH care provider. Her and her supervisor gave a far more in depth and logical explanation of RA and his psychosis, confessions, and crazy antics (yes, I think a lot of them were faked after KA and the DT ripped him a new one after the recorded confessions).

The D's expert NeuroScientist didn't impress me much and I was surprised at the lack of in depth knowledge and personal contact she had of RA. Brad the D intern and errand guy spliced 5 minutes vids of the worst possible scenarios to paint a picture.

<snipped>

Dr. Polly Westcott, a neuropsychologist from Carmel and on the stand as a $450-and-hour expert for the defense, outlined her review of Allen’s mental health history before he was arrested and how solitary conditions in Westville Correctional Facility exacerbated his anxiety and depression.

Ummm, anyone could have said that for $150 an hour, saved the D some money from their gimmie money fund raiser. She paints him as slow thinking, and unable and unworthy to handle promotions by employers, although he went on to get his Pharm Tech license, managed to maintain 10 years in the National Guard so I think he has a proven degree of intelligence and decision making capabilities.

Again, the treatment or conditions of RA's detention is NOT on trial here. RA's actions on Feb 13th 2017 and his guilt or innocence in the murder of Abby and Libby are.

The Defense Brings Its Own Psychology Expert - Delphi Trial Day Fifteen

MOO

If deliberations go past today I hope they've got some board games and films lined up for them for Sunday and Monday. I think it was the Chad Daybell trial where one of the sequestered jurors said they got all their clothes out of their case and ironed them because they had nothing to do.

People need to remember the victims are Abby and Libby. The defense has turned the trial into a Richard Allen pity party.

Yes I am astounded it’s worked with a small minority.

My heart goes out to the Abby’s and Libbys loved ones and friends who have had to tolerate such lies and hurtful comments. I dread to think how devastating it will be if he isn’t found guilty when it’s quite clearly him.

IMO

3. Does stating Abby “could have screamed” carry an undercurrent of VICTIM BLAMING, i.e., she should have screamed but did not?
Hi @al66pine
I agree with your overall post, and especially the sense of victim-blaming that Abby’s alleged lack of screaming represented. That likely wasn’t Rozzi’s intention; yet, whatever his actual point was, just is not clear to me. Surely he wasn’t implying that she was enjoying herself or complicit in some ritual? Possibly, his intent was to suggest a movement of the timeline. Whatever Rozzi intended to demonstrate, it left a disturbing mental image that provided no insight on RA’s guilt or innocence. If anything, for me, it simply solidified the brutality of RA slicing open Abby’s throat and then watching her bleed out until he was sure she was dead.

Cisero agreed that the sticks on the girls' would have helped conceal their bodies from across the creek.

The huge limb is to the left of Libby and the little bunch of sticks are on top of Abby's left shoulder. The killer seems to be covering up the left sides of their bodies.

Could it be that the left sides of their bodies are facing the creek?

If so, the killer was probably trying to camouflage them from across the creek. Also if so, the right side of them would not be noticed from where they were found because of inclines.

If only I knew where their bodies were located in position with the creek.

Does anyone have that specific info?

Which is ridiculous because if she had been taping the sessions, I'm sure some would have an issue with that. If he's being recorded they are trying to get him to say something. If he isn't, it's suspicious because how do we know what he really said.

She was not trying to get him to confess. She told him to stop confessing. She didn't run to LE when he detailed to her what he did. The investigator reviewing all the calls and notes found her notes in August of 2024. I would think if she was trying to trap him or was making it up, she would have let someone know he confessed with specifics instead of letting a year go by and waiting for an investigator to maybe find her notes about that session.

For it to be a guilty or not guilty verdict, all 12 jurors must agree on it.

If even one juror diagrees with the rest, it will be a mistrial and Richard Allen can be tried again.

the branch on libby is nearly as thick as her head. no way someone used it as a stretcher
IMO, that large branch is running parallel to the creek as seen in the crime scene drawing that came out at trial (the one drawn on the green paper - the creek is shown on the right). Note the word "creek" just above the "N" - North directional symbol.

I'm pretty certain that Allen just picked p that log by one end and slid it over on top of her for more concealment.
