GUILTY Abby & Libby - The Delphi Murders - Richard Allen Arrested - #220

  • #701
BBM
We have no idea in the privacy of his own home that he didn't crap his pants.

On the outside all liars create lies that makes them look like they're innocent and things don't bother them.
During Richard Allen's first interrogation, he offered to show where he parked on February 13, 2017. Would he have lied and took them to a different parking lot? I wonder if he would have directed the detectives to the old CPS building parking lot? Maybe he did not see the entire 2019 press conference, or he thought they were referring to a different building? If I were on the jury and the police showed the dashcam video of Richard Allen directing them to the old CPS building, that would have helped determine exactly where he parked.

Dashcam video of RA directing police to the old CPS building???????
What in the world are you talking about?
Where is that coming from?
I have never heard that anything like that ever existed.
If you are only saying you wish it existed because it would ease your mind, I think you are going to have let that go.
Look at all the other things presented at trial, in its entirety. RA was properly convicted, despite his unethical defense team.

The first sketch was labeled a composite, IIRC, so I’m going to say it’s based on a combination of witness descriptions. I believe BB contributed to the second sketch more than any of the other witnesses, if any others were even contributing to that one.

MOO
I thought the first sketch was based on Libby's video and the second sketch was from BB who was 50 yards or so from the man she saw on the bridge. RA said he was wearing a skull cap, and with him being 5 5" he could have appeared much younger to BB.

Same round face in both sketches to me.

4 minute video news piece with the 2017 press conference... "Evil lives among us."

It all comes together, knowing what we know now.

1 minute video, press conference

"Hiding in plain sight...."

"It's wake power to you..."

"Two little girls... only a coward would do this..."

Yes, my memory is the same (not that that is any guarantee). I recall the first sketch being made from the video.

Not that it’s really important or worth turning into a debate, this is where I saw it was a composite from more than one witness, via the wording used (BBM below). However I have also come across MSM articles with a quote from Leazenby stating "a witness" was the source of the first sketch. Just wished to clarify I wasn’t going from memory & not really overly concerned about who is right or wrong, etc. 👍

I feel the first sketch was based on both the video and witness description, whether it’s one or two people giving input doesn’t really matter much to me. I strongly feel it’s unlikely an accurate sketch could be made from the video alone though - it was just way too grainy IMO.

In July 2017, police released a composite drawing based on the testimony of eyewitnesses who saw a man walking near the bridge on the Delphi Historic Trails at about the time the girls are believed to have disappeared.

Not sure if I am going to read every page of the Delphi transcripts or not. I am jumping around a bit, reading things which may be of interest to me. Right now, I am reading a transcript from a pre trial hearing for a Motion to Dismiss from the defense from 18MAR24 (Vol. 3, pg 216).

It seems the lost interview recordings from early in the investigation were most likely due to either a power surge or the DVR being unplugged. When it was originally installed the recorder was supposed to turn on & of with a switch. After the surge/unplugging, the DVR recorded continuously without anyone knowing the settings for the switch had been impacted. The DVR vendor told SM (Mullin) that this DVR would reset its settings for the switch operation if powered down unexpectedly.

I never heard the detailed explanation as to how all that went down. It had always sounded to me like it was direct human error which caused the interview recordings to be lost when it’s possible no humans were to blame at all, at least directly.

This press conference was mentioned in the recently released book on the Idaho College Students Murders. I thought the dichotomy between the two cases was interesting:

"The biggest mistake a police chief or sheriff can make, Fry believes, is to overshare.
Yet it happens all the time.
In 2017, the state police superintendent spoke during his press conferences directly to whoever had killed two teenage girls in Delphi, Indiana. Fry found this tactic inappropriate and possibly damaging to the case..."

The weird thing about that PC wasn't the talking to the perpetrator, it was the bizarre segue into a whole discussion of that religious movie he'd been watching. That was truly strange. I've never seen anything like it in an official statement.

Thank you for sharing this. I feel the only reason we even discussed this in the first place is the defense trying to paint a picture of some police cover up in order to make their client, the poor wrongly accused law abiding man just out for a stroll that day, appear innocent. They painted the LEO's as either intentionally recording over interviews to cover for the real killer(s) or as idiots who don't know how to operate a recording device. In this day of true crime crazies, it takes off like wildfire and people make money on selling the salacious tale, so they run with it.

Truth is none of us outside LEO could possibly understand what an investigation of this size takes and how things can get missed due to so many people from many agencies all working it and working for hours/days/weeks/months on end trying to find a killer of 2 little girls.

Truth is sometimes things really are this simple and there is no cover up, no hiding the real killers, no corrupt LEO letting a child killer go to frame an innocent man.

You’re more than welcome.

I didn’t follow the case closely (meaning on this site - I was following in the papers/media) until around the time the defense started screaming about Odinism & hinting at some sort of conspiracy. The above was the first detailed explanation regarding the lost interviews which I ran into. Holeman mentioned it briefly after the trial but didn’t go into much detail. He mentioned the switch but that’s all I recall.

The hearing I mentioned above was pretty pathetic from the start. Baldwin is a real whiney, underhanded, sniveling slime ball. It’s worth a read, if only to the portion above, where SM details the DVR mishap.

Cops who cant cop.

Cops who cant cop.
Less cops who can't cop and more the perils and pitfalls of a smaller workplace without a dedicated IT person overseeing things. I can't imagine Delphi had an IT fulltimer. If it's a situation where a technician comes in, sets it up and leaves, saying 'don't mess with it and it'll be fine', how are the staff to know when it's gone wrong? My partner worked in a small workplace twenty years ago where the IT department was in a different city. Absolute nightmare.

Possibly - definitely can’t DVR or techie things. Can’t say for sure the DVR debacle allowed the child murderer to go free for 5 years but it sure didn’t help silence the conspiracies later.

I tend to feel (hope?) @iamshadow21 is leaning in the right direction.

Exclusive: Richard Allen's wife defends 'innocent' husband in Delphi murders docuseries

‘…new docuseries from ABC News Studios airs doubts that police apprehended the right man. The three-part "Capturing Their Killer: The Girls on the High Bridge" premieres on Hulu Aug. 5.

"Richard Allen is guilty and always will be," Libby's grandfather Mike Patty declares in a trailer shared exclusively with USA TODAY.’

I’m not surprised that the convicted murderer’s wife continues to claim he is innocent. It is very disappointing that this docuseries is being made. I’ve got no interest in watching it because the right person has been convicted and Abby and Libby should be allowed to rest in peace. The focus of the documentary should be on Abby & Libby and their legacy with the ballpark, the facts of the case, the impact the case and trial has had on their loved ones, the fact the murderer has been convicted by a hardworking and dedicated jury. It is disgraceful that, instead, the producers have chosen to go down the sensationalist route and even one second of it will make a feeble attempt at casting doubt regarding whether the right person has been convicted of their murders. It doesn’t matter what his wife thinks regarding her husband’s innocence, he has been convicted in a court of law by a jury and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole by a judge.

I presume his wife hasn’t participated in this docuseries for free. It is just wrong that she is being given any airtime and potentially making any money from a docuseries about the double murder of Abby and Liberty, which her husband has been convicted of.

IMO, it reminds me of the documentary that was made of the Teresa Halbach murder. Just a bunch of baloney.

RA was the missing witness.

He was on the bridge after passing the group of juveniles who also happened to leave before KG dropped LG and AW off. He was on the bridge when BB saw him there on her third loop, after not seeing him on her previous ones, and just before passing LG and AW on their way to the bridge.

He was dressed in jeans and a Carhartt jacket, with a scarf and skull cap.

He wasn't consistent about his times, changing it up, but he confirmed seeing the juveniles and he confirmed BW's arrival, sometime around 3:30, give or take.

He mentioned no other men on the trail nor anyone who might have been at the trail earlier or later that day.

He conceded that there were conditions under which he could be the the man in the photo, BG.

As to the other conditions? If he never saw LG and AW that day, how could he be certain they didn't surreptitiously photograph him? He told on himself. And also did bad math. His math? He can see in the photograph where abouts he was on the bridge, very close to the girls. In fact looking right at them. AW's back as she tried to hurry away from him and off the bridge, and LG who was facing AW and, right behind her, him. So positive he was that if they had a phone/camera, he would have been looking right it. (Had he seen it, we can be sure that phone would have gone for a long swim in the creek.) He forced those little girls to undress, at gunpoint. No phone. Even across the creek after he murdered them, no phone.

Boy, did he read that wrong. He was outsmarted by babyteens. They kept the phone hidden despite every nasty thing he did. One of the girls was almost able to unlock the phone even, presumably to call 911 --

Even without his 60+ confessions, he put himself on the bridge and no one could get him off.

But he's off the bridge now and in prison where he belongs.

Time to give Delphi back to Abby and Libby and let them rest in peace.

From what I understand, this is possibly related to that early court filing requesting the release of trial exhibits filed by some attorney representing Twist Media. If the convicted murder’s wife has agreed to appear in it, I think it’s going to be a safe bet that this "documentary" is going to spin the innocence tale or at least question the jury’s verdict. Proceed with caution before viewing would be my advice.

Some media outlets have an unending desire to satiate the public’s lust for stirring up controversy. One last hurrah to stir up donations before his appellate hearings get underway.

Come on, Ricky, come out of the shadows & tell the world why you were really transferred to OK from IN. Stop letting enablers do the talking for you. If you really want to be free, it starts by the actual truth coming from betwixt thine lips. Fortunately, that freedom will only involve your soul & won’t be physical. You had a good start at Westville but you relapsed & let your enablers shut it down. The window is closing much faster than you think.

The wife chose to make her bed with soiled sheets. Time to stop making poor choices & get on with whatever life she can make. My sympathy tank is running on fumes with her. Pick up the pieces & go home, Gold Dust Woman.

As this documentary will likely end up being for the most part. 🙄

The appellate team has requested yet another extension to file their brief which was due on 06AUG25. Probably no surprise since the transcripts were completed in July. Evidently, for whatever they’re looking it’s apparently not low hanging fruit.
