GUILTY Abby & Libby - The Delphi Murders - Richard Allen Arrested - #220

  • #1,341
Have you seen Julie Melvin's videos? She was there less than a month after the crime and her videos show what everything looked like on February 13, 2017. She goes all the way across the bridge and down the hill and then down to the clearing area. She then goes and stands at the edge of the creek and looks towards the crime scene area.

High Bridge

"Down the Hill"

Down another hill to the clearing.

On the clearing looking towards the crime scene area.

I think Julie Melvin took the path RA, Libby and Abby did.

RA and the girls more than likely crossed Weber's driveway and walked beside High Bridge to somewhere between the fifth and fourth platform and descended down another hill by one of the Bridges bases.
It wasn't as steep in that area as opposed to the drop off right after crossing Weber's driveway.
I had watched one of her videos long ago regarding the path the girls walked that day but that is it.

I’m unsure where they would go after down the hill. If it were me, I wouldn’t venture back towards the bridge supports because I could be more easily spotted by other potential bridge walkers & anyone who happens down the gravel road. I’d get across the gravel road & down the 2nd hill ASAP (basically a more northern direction). That drop down to the flood plain area would provide cover from the gravel road & potentially the bridge as well - unsure due to bridge being 60+ feet higher.

Anyone’s guess, as usual.

Slight change of subject - the Deputy AG made an appearance in court today but no clue for what exact purpose - certificate of service. No entry for filing of troll’s appellate brief yet. It was due yesterday.

That is one heck of a long walk for RA to get back to his car. It is amazing that only 1 car passed him when he was seen. That had to be about a 5 to 10 minute walk. No other cars drove on that road for that length of time? Or do you think he ducked back into the cover of the trees on the rest of his way back along W 300 N?

300 N is not a highly traveled road.
I think Sarah C. saw RA not long after he exited the crime scene via the cemetery. He was obviously on the Mears entrance side of the street when he emerged from the cemetery but at some point he crossed the street by the time Sarah saw him walking West on 300 N. I think after Sarah drove by him he took a right through the field, and like others have opined, went behind Mears farm and the Hoosier Harvest Store to get back to his car at the CPS building.

When Mullin and Liggett asked RA if he saw anyone when he got back to his car that day he said, "Well no, 'cause I would have thought through that."

RA knew after he saw BB walk out of sight that it was only the girls and him anywhere near the High Bridge at that time.
After leaving the barricade at High Bridge and passing Abby and Libby BB walked halfway down the Mary Gerard trail and then walked to Freedom Bridge and then back to her car at Mears entrance. According to Calc maps the crime scene is approximately 2,300 feet from Mears Entrance.
BB is seen leaving via HHS at 2:18 p.m. The next person to arrive at Mears entrance is a man with the initials DR. DR did not testify at trial but recent documents show that he arrived in his vehicle with his dog at approximately 2:30 p.m. and no one else was at the Mears entrance when he arrived. DR got out and began to walk towards Freedom Bridge with his dog.

What kind of answer is THAT?????

"I would have been smart enough not to be seen."

Except he's not that smart, and IMO at that point he was either so focused on getting back home before KA did or he figured that road was a road less traveled and there'd be no one traveling it, that he didn't give it much thought at all.

IMO his answer reveals his thought process: he knew it was dumb to go that way, and wished he'd been smarter about it.

(Additionally I think it shows something a little darker. I think he genuinely regretted going that way. It was dumb, he knew it was dumb. It's leveling why he drove a different way home too -- spooked. Regret for that, I don't think he regretted what he did that day. And that is beyond sick.)

One other thing. there were photos at the time of the investigation of police searching behind Mears. The dogs probably got hit of RA walking back there. And a report by GH that a woman saw a man walking at that time from her window. There are a few residences some distance away but having a view of the field behind Mears.

Concerning the Deputy AG in court yesterday, my understanding is it was just her adding herself as part of the State’s team.
Now, it’s mid-morning the day AFTER the defense’s appellate motion was due. What is going on?
Dare we dream someone did the right thing and pulled the plug in this appeal?

We dare not dream. The appeals motion was filed at 10:40pm last night. Just glancing through, it appears pretty lightweight, but, sadly, a continuation of the clown attorneys over the top, misrepresenting rhetoric.
