Seems plausible as clarification, e.g., and paraphrasing:

Parents: "We were in the bedroom and the kids must have gone outside through the sliding door and we didn't know until later..."

LE: "Did you hear the sliding door open?"

Parents: "no"

LE: "Are you usually able to hear the sliding door open from your bedroom?"

Parents: "no, it's quiet when it slides open."

MOO.
I'd think they'd feel that door in their bedroom.

I have a question for anyone who wants to answer.

Do you have any questions you would love to have answered that haven't come up in discussion here?

(Apart from, say, where are the children?)

Here are the two I keep thinking about:
  • Are there any vehicles registered to or known to be used by the people who live at this address that are currently unaccounted for?
  • Have the police requested internet records from their ISP? (This is the only way to get incognito/private searches and history unless the user employs a VPN.)
I'd like to know exactly where those other three (two together and one a distance away from the two) child size shoe prints were found during the search, on the map.

What I understand:
- Listening to one earlier news report, cell service was a problem for searchers, etc. (dead zone)
- DM said in one of his interviews that LE requested phone, banking, google maps (?) etc., and access to router and he complied. Also offered to provide drug testing and take polygraph
- I would say ground is thawed. N.S. doesn’t get a lot of snow, anymore, and when they do, it doesn’t last long. Cool nights, warm days. Everyone in Canada knows not to plant anything before May long weekend because of chance of frost. But it’s not constant, now. Apparently their black fly season has started.
- house is visible from the road
- “maybe” the school bus driver would wait at the top of the drive-way for the kids if he was running early. (My experience when my kids were young.) But he should keep driving if there is no one at the stop.
- one vehicle does not have a plate per the news report photos. So at least one out of an unknown number is not registered.
- DM’s hours were cut because work is slow. No reports whether he was working any day that week. No doubt police have requested his hours from employer.

I remember seeing a black truck in the driveway in one of the pics.

Maybe they'd ask if they heard a door close, but I think they'd definitely ask about hearing the kids because mom says something really weird about hearing the kids playing out back, but they didn't know it yet.

Huh?

Only possible explanation I can think of is someone sighted the children playing in the yard and informed her of that after they were reported missing.

The problem with the brief media statements is there’s no followup questions so everything that doesn’t make perfect sense appears suspicious.

Not until now. Do you think they are that calculated? Do you have any other thoughts on why this may be a theory?
DM has been front and centre, I've thought he was genuine but just maybe he's just a really good liar who thinks he can fool us all. Mom left and went silent, changed her status to single and isn't talking. Maybe it's because she would have been the weak link?

I really think that if anyone else saw the children that morning it would have been reported in the media.

The media wouldn’t have any way of knowing if anyone came forward unless that person chose to inform reporters, doubtful that would happen. Besides, observing children playing in a yard doesn’t answer what happened to them and I only mentioned it as a possibility. The other thing is, if someone reported that, it doesn’t prove their sighting was credible. But considering the 35 interviews I think there’s a lot of information the police are aware of that we’re not.

Could be on private property which i do think i heard being mentioned on the scanner, that at least one person had.

Well regardless I think we can be certain every landowner in the vicinity knows the children are missing and I have no doubt they’re cooperating with search efforts in every way they can, including allowing access to their land and any recording/cctv devices.

“The worst-case scenario is they are deceased and if they are deceased, they need to be recovered,” said CTV News public safety analyst Chris Lewis. “We need to determine if there some criminal act that occurred.”

This is what bothers me, they may never be found and this case goes cold

From your link -
In addition to suspecting foul play, kidnapping has not been ruled out.
