I know! Andrea was saying the no water is the worst, but she can get out to a drinking fountain during breaks.

I've never heard of such strict rules during a trial.

Me either! Does the judge have water? The attorneys? The JURORS? (I hope!)

More than likely, that hair was analyzed years ago, wasn't Abby or Libby's but probably had a lot in common with Libby's. No need to test further.

But then the Defense brought it up publicly, stating it wasn't RA's, blowing up the internet, moving LE to test it further to tamp that nonsense down definitively, LE is probably rushing a job to determine to which relative of Libby is the statistical match, to put it to bed.

There's absolutely no reason to compare the recovered bullet with LE issued ammo. LE don't randomly lose bullets. Nor do they rack their slides for no apparent reasons. And yes, many people might have that model gun, might have that brand of ammunition, but if this one bullet has striations that match another bullet and/or weapon of LE's suspect, that is quite compelling. Mounting evidence.

JMO
It won't have striations, those are left when a bullet passes through the barrel.

It may have tool marks from the ejector mechanism on the casing.

Where is a source? (Article, document, TIA) Who is “she”?
Its been on Netflix, Dateline, all over

Just google witness and you will find the affidavit for the witness that saw him on the bridge.

It is also included in this article where RA says he was there, that day, on the bridge, watching fish.
Police interviewed Allen again in October 2022. The document said Allen told investigators that he was on the trails on February 13, 2017. He said he went onto the Monon High Bridge to watch the fish.

then the Affidavit including witness statement included in this article

""She advised she walked to the Monon High Bridge and observed a‘male matching the one from Victim 2'svideo. She described the male she saw as a white male, wearing blue jeans and a blue jacket. She advised he was standing on the first platform of the Monon High Bridge, approximately 50 feet from her. She advised she turned around at the bridge and continued her walk. She advised approximately halfway between the bridge and the parking area across from Mears farm, she passed two girls walking toward Monon High Bridge. She advised she believed the girls were Victim 1and Victim2. Video from the Hoosier Harvestore show at 1:49p.m. away from the entrance acrossfrom the Mears frm. advised she finished her walk and saw no other adults other than the male on the bridge. Authorities Believe Unspent Bullet Found Near Delphi Murder Victims Came from Richard Allen's Gun, Unsealed Affidavit Reveals

I still struggle to understand the no water rule. Sounds worse than prison.

D's again on a bridge to nowhere with their "hair," jmo. Based on statements in MSM, there was testing on the hair, the D is just not satisfied there was "enough" testing on the hair. This is hardly surprising that they'd be shocked and aghast, again MOO. Does this hair track back to an actual potential murderer? I believe that's a no, and this is no smoking gun, jmo. They might be able to get some traction from the fact that LE didn't do "enough" testing, but that's not going to be enough for the D, MOO.

I'm seeing NMcL noted RA's confessions include details only the killer could know, and this is in MSM. THAT is the smoking gun, imo, not the mystery hair, which it turns out is of an insufficiently "mysterious" nature to have much impact on anything. Maybe the D will shock me and it will turn out to have some substance, but based on what I'm seeing, it doesn't.

Someone said in a prior post they'd seen there was a distinctive blade in use in these murders. Among the knives seized from RA's home was a katana sword, which leaves distinctive cut marks that they could probably see on tool mark analysis. (No, I'm not saying he used this, but I do find it of interest in that the prior poster noted the distinctive blade).

Will all of the Saturday sessions be so short?

And why would they ask a deputy that and why would he answer? (Or was he on the stand?)

‘Typical days for jurors will begin in the courtroom at 9 a.m. and work through to noonish with a morning break. Gull said she typically gives 90 minutes for lunch ― sometimes longer, sometimes shorter. The afternoon sessions will have a break and usually end by 6 p.m., but sometimes longer, Gull said.

They will work Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.’

The court sessions on a Saturday are expected to be from 9am to noon for the duration of the trial. I think it is good the sessions on a Saturday are shorter because Abby and Liberty’s loved ones, the jurors, prosecutors, the judge and all the court staff who are in court each day need some downtime at the weekend. It would be an even greater strain on them to have full days in court six days a week.

Thank you! I think I had read that before, but forgot. I appreciate the refresher. And i agree. Saturday afternoon naps for the jurors :). Or maybe their hotel has a pool and hot tub!

As always, JMO.

28 minutes in and I am shocked.
Defense had Bob Motta sitting at the defense table at today’s trial.
He was not in line or given a press pass. He was a guest of defense.
They also allege he shared a hotel room in Fort Wayne with another podcaster that had been seen approaching individuals outside the courtroom during jury selection and asking them if they were potential jurors and photographing car license plate of potential jurors.
How is this ok?

My bad! Shows how unfamiliar the terms are for me! Of course I meant tool marks.

Very damning for RA.

It really isn't.

People are going to go to jail if they keep this nonsense up.

Oh, it's not my area of expertise, either, just watched a lot of CSI and it stuck. :D

Also, for future reference,..
there is a media thread for Libby and Abby's case linked on the first page of every thread and I will link it here for you also.

It has all the media and info regarding the MURDERS OF LIBBY & ABBY

From the article you linked:

“He was on the Freedom Bridge, he said he saw three females but didn't remember what they looked like or speak with them. The document said he walked from the Freedom Bridge to the High Bridge while on his phone.

Police interviewed three juveniles who said they were on the trail on February 13, 2017.
They were walking on the trail toward Freedom Bridge to go home when the document said they encountered a man who they described as "kind of creepy." He was wearing blue jeans and a light blue jacket.”

Where does it say that any witnesses picked Allen out as the person they saw?? BB described someone in a tan jacket that was younger with curly hair. I apologize I am trying to separate documented eyewitness statements (like saying “RA is the guy we saw”) vs ambiguous/possibly conflated statements. The article doesn’t say the same 3 juveniles saw RA. RA could have seen 3 different people. The creepy man could have been a different man. JMO.

One quote from the article, not new, but just a reminder of how brave Libby had to have been and the presence of mind she had to do this:

-————————-—

“After the girls crossed the bridge, they saw a man behind them, so Libby started a recording on her phone at 2:13 p.m. on Feb. 13, 2017, he said.”

——-——————

I’m still amazed that she did this. Those 40+ terrifying seconds that she captured will hopefully be the key to justice for her and Abby.

I feel that both girls have been crying out somewhere for this justice to come, and for their families to attempt some healing.

Seven years waiting for this day.

"According to McLeland, Allen confessed to details only the killer would know."

But were these in the form of actual confessions, like what we'd traditionally think of as confessions (like the phone calls to family)? Or were these slips he made during in interrogation/interviews (Dulin, Holeman) where he unwittingly gave information only the killer would know? Or is it a combination of both? If it includes "slips," this is to me even more compelling for the P.

Or did he reel off 10 things and most were incorrect with a few being correct.

A false confession...

Me either! Does the judge have water? The attorneys? The JURORS? (I hope!)

No water or food and as for bathroom breaks not easy either when the court is in session.

Another difficulty is keeping one's place with those 20 something seats available to civilians after returning from lunch.

A false confession...
More than likely several confessions that match what is known about the crime (to include the one made on the phone with KA), and then changing versions with additional false details thrown in after KA got the lawyers involved. I suspect there will be a clear line as to when the faulty information starts to be included in the confessions.
