This is why it is bad to have to depend on individual reporters in this case.

—one reporter describes the branches on top of the girls as being placed as “vees” and shapes, hinting that there was a purpose to them
—others reporters just say that branches were placed on top of them. Nothing more.

That first reporter will stir up a lot cr#p with that statement on a subject that the Judge has already ruled irrelevant. He knows what he’s doing.
It already is.

I think Abby may have tried to escape. Damp clothes … did he catch her in the creek, knocking or dragging her back to the scene? Did she struggle resulting on blood on trees?

Just my random thoughts … moo
I think Abby was always used for corrosive control. He used her to control Libby. M00
I feel Abby was already dressed when they marched across the creek but Libby wasn't and she was carrying her clothes. It could be that she tripped and lost some clothing and a shoe or she may have done that on purpose. With Abby forced to put on Libby's clothes, it would make it very very difficult for Libby to ever get away with her clothes. I wonder if he's thought that she would be less likely to run from him if she had no clothes.
I think the clothes Abby was wearing was damp because she had already walked through the creek with her own clothes on and then was forced to put Abby's on on top of hers.

I think it was Libby who tried to run and Escape after Abby's was slit, but I think he chased her down and slid her throat.

The defense is having to beg the judge to allow them to present a witness who is able to refute the state’s theory.

They have the argument. But Gull gets to decide if it’s allowed to be presented.

I don’t understand how it’s considered a fair trial if the prosecution is allowed to present information that the defense is not allowed a chance to dispute.
I thought this had to do with the prosecution arguing that the defense expert wasn’t qualified to testify to what they’d testify to?

If so, that’s completely standard. What is unusual is all of this occurring so late in the proceedings.

I think like building a camp fire with large branches. Lying crisscross supports the branch on top of it.
I don’t buy into the ritual theory.
Moo..
Exactly this! When I build a fire, I criss-cross the sticks so they don’t roll off onto the ground. It’s just a way to support the next level of sticks.

That makes sense to me. It seems that Abby was killed with less violence, almost as if it was done more out of practicality. Libby apparently had more extensive wounds, and was found naked.

I’d expect the person with the more extensive injuries to have been killed last, as it would have required more time.

I'm not even seeing the photos and I'm viscerally ill.

How could someone do that to two little girls?

And then carry on, business as usual.

I'm sad for everyone. But him.

I feel the same way, and I’m sure all of us here do too. It is absolutely heartbreaking that Abbey and Liberty’s families, the jurors, prosecutors and the court staff have to witness these extremely distressing images of them being shown in court. It is inhumane the suffering the girl’s loved ones continue to go through. No family should ever have to see crime scene photos of their beloved child, grandchild murdered. I also feel very sorry for the members of the jury. It must take an emotional toll on them. They probably just want to go home and hug their own children/ grandchildren, but they can’t because they are sequestered. I realise how critically important and necessary it is for the women and men on the jury to see what the prosecutors believe the defendant has allegedly done to Abigail and Liberty.

Thank you so much to all of you for posting updates about what is happening in court. It is greatly appreciated.

Just thinking back to the defense’s opening, and the description of the crime scene today.

The defense attorney also suggested the girls may have gone up an access road, gotten into another vehicle and were killed elsewhere before being taken back to where their bodies were discovered near Deer Creek.

Blood on trees. Blood on and around their bodies. Ground “saturated with blood.”

Nope, he killed them right there.

I want the families to know that what he did to their daughters, what he did to their bodies, and that complete strangers are viewing especially LG's body nude, does not denigrate them. It denigrates RA, who I believe will be convicted of these crimes.

I just feel so bad for their families. Alleged murderer, but also a thief. Took their lives, stole their futures, robbed their families, and nowvthis: ripped privacy from all of them.

Want to articulate this a thousand times. They are sacred. What he did, profane. They remained untouched. The darkness, the depth, the depravity, it's all him.

He stole from every generation of their families...

And he sits there stone-faced.

Off with him.

My sympathy goes to the loved ones of Abby and Libby, two girls who should still be alive.

I've always respected your ideas. I can see no way this whole thing plays out according the the P's timeline theory. Can you make it work?

But also, logically, why would you take them elsewhere, kill them and then return them to an area swarmed with people looking for them? You'd 100% take them elsewhere to make the search last longer.

There's no doubt in my mind, based on that description, that the girls were killed there. I wonder what this does to the defence argument with the jury. How can anyone think they could have been killed elsewhere based on that scene.

Those poor poor girls.

Ha! yes. I've also made the same argument in regards to it being completely insane and difficult to remove them, kill them, and then return them to ground zero.

It fails the logical test. It fails the practicality test. It's unfeasible. And now it's refuted by science.
