February 13, 2017

At 12:43 p.m. three teen girls and a little girl take a picture on the Monon High Bridge.

At 1:26 p.m. Those same girls take a picture on a bench after having walked the entirety of the approximately one mile trail. They then head westbound toward Freedom Bridge.

At 1:27 p.m. A car that resembles Richard Allen's 2016 Black Ford Focus is seen traveling westbound on CR 300 N. Heading in the direction of the former CPS building.

In his first statement, Richard Allen, says he parked at the old farm bureau building. He says he headed toward Freedom Bridge. He said he was on the trails that day from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

In the vicinity of the Freedom Bridge the three teen girls see a man. They describe him as "kind of creepy", "not very tall", had his hands in his pockets, wearing blue or black jeans and a blue or black jacket. He had gray hair maybe a little brown.
He matched the man in the still photo from LG's cellphone video.

Richard Allen said at the Freedom Bridge he saw three females. One was taller and had brown or black hair. He then says he walked to the High Bridge.

Just before 1:46 p.m.
Betsy Blair observed four girls (The three teen girls and the little girl) walking on the bridge over State Road 25 as she was driving underneath.

At 1:46 p.m.
Betsy Blair's car is seen traveling eastbound.
She parks her car across from the Mears farm and starts walking toward the High Bridge.

At 1:49 p.m. Kelsi drops Libby and Abby off across from the Mears' farm.

When Betsy Blair makes it to the High Bridge she
sees a man wearing blue jeans and a blue jeans jacket standing on platform One approximately 50 feet away. He matched the man from the still photo from Libby's cellphone video.

Richard Allen said in his 2022 statement that at the High Bridge he walked out onto platform One. He described himself as wearing blue jeans and a blue or black jacket.

Betsy turns around to finish her walk and halfway between the high bridge and the Mears' farm parking area she sees two girls who she believes to be Libby and Abby. They were headed to the High Bridge.

At 2:05 p.m.
Libby takes a picture of the bridge in between the second and third platforms.

At 2:07 p.m.
Libby gets on the third platform and turns around to take a picture of Abby walking across High Bridge.

Around 2:10 p.m.
A man on his way to Delphi on State Road 25 observes a purple PT cruiser or a small suv type vehicle parked on the South side of the old CPS building. It was backed in as though to conceal it's license plate.

At 2:13 p.m.
While at the end of the High Bridge or very close to it Libby, who is turned toward the beginning of the bridge, begins recording video of a man on her cell phone. The man is coming from the direction of the beginning of the bridge. He is between the fifth and six platforms at the end of the bridge walking behind Abby.

At 2:14 p.m.
Betsy Blair's car is seen leaving westbound from the trails. As she passes by the old CPS building she sees a car parked in an odd manner. It is in the same general spot and backed in like the man observed around 2:10 p.m.

Around 2:28 p.m.
A man sees a small dark colored car parked at the old CPS building. He describes it as possibly a smart car.

At 2:32 p.m.
Libby's phone ceases movement, according to the Apple Health Data on her cellphone.

At 3:57 p.m.
Sarah Carbaugh is driving eastbound down CR 300 N when she sees a man walking westbound away from the Monon High bridge. He matches the man in the still photo from LG's cellphone video. He appears muddy, bloody, and like he's been in a fight.

There were other individuals on the trails or CR 300 N from 2:30 p.m. to 4:11 p.m. and none of these people saw a man resembling Richard Allen on the trails.

Richard Allen said he saw three females whereas the three teens and a child saw a creepy man.

Is that sounding about right?

I feel seeing three females is not the same as seeing three females and a child.

Is there a possibility he saw three other females and the three teens and child saw someone else?

4 and 3 or 3 and 4 are not looking the same to me.

This is excellent and should be pinned. Very thorough and easy to track

It also shows just how eye witness testimony can also be unreliable. Look at all the different descriptions of the car. Because they saw it in a split second.

This timeline also seems to confirm there were no other males on the bridge/trail at that time? Other than Bridge Guy and Richard Allen confirmed he hadn't seen another male on the bridge?

Thank you. I don't know how to pin it but I think a poster posted it to another thread here.
.
Correct. In RA's PCA (where this information comes from) it states that the three teen girls' and little girl walked the entirety of the approximately one mile trail and saw no other males except the one on Freedom Bridge when they were leaving the trails.
Likewise, Betsy Blair she also stated she saw no other male besides the one standing on the first platform.
They both confirmed that the man they saw was "BG" captured on the still photo from Libby's cellphone video.

one big issue is we are all true crime nerds saturated in every pixel of bridge guy and steeped in Delphi lore.

The jurors (should) be fresh. They have none of our information, hang ups and biases.

I try to think and truly empathize what they must be thinking and feeling right now. Their perspective. So far, if I’m honest all I know is this tall bridge guy seems to have done it and there’s this short goofy guy over in the chair. Okay when do I get the big reveal of how he’s related? Is that him? I dunno.

This is really anyone’s game so far. It is not anyone’s trial to lose. To think otherwise is to be clouding oneself with bias and saturation of information. Taking a vat of information and boiling it down into a piece of rock candy, a forum post, of what we see. It’s all nuanced and kinda foolish to make any claim either side has it easy.

the opposite of "guilty" in a court of law is NOT "innocent"!........the opposite of guilty is "not guilty"

the defence don't have to prove that RA is not bridge guy - it's for the prosecution to prove that he is.

the very fact that some are saying "there would need to be 2 guys up there at the same time" - shows that doubt must exist as to whether or not RA is the only possible offender

and in a court of law, this does not meet the burden of proof beyond a reasonable doubt

just my opinion and it's as worthless as all my others in reality :)

If there were three other teen girls' they never came forward. I guess possible but definitely not probable imo.

The little girl that was with the three teen girls' was a young child not even pre teen yet from what I can recall. Given her age, she probably was shorter, and could have been obscured by the older girls'.

Also, the man they seen had his head down and appeared to be walking with a purpose.

It is important to note that in his 2022 statement Richard Allen described one of the teen girls from this group accurately. Tall and with brown or black hair.

RA also said in that interview that he was wearing blue jeans and a blue or black jacket. The same attire that "BG" was wearing according to these particular witnesses.

No disrespect intended, just making a small point regarding distance….it’s further than you may believe regardless of what a 2 dimensional map, etc. may measure out. Pythagorean theorem, right triangles & all. The hypotenuse would be the actual distance & is always the longest leg of a right triangle so if you measure 20ft from a map or satellite image, it’s more than that. Impossible to tell unless one knows the point on the road below to which to measure. A guesstimate could be made if the height from bridge to road were known.

Hope that makes sense.

According to AB, @ 1:26:00 min on Day 7 coverage, Libby’s Find My IPhone was ON and SYNC’d with her iPad.

EDIT: to add the iPad was locked and they couldn’t get into the IPad.

BB saw *someone* standing on the platform. She did not identify that person to be RA. Even though the state could easily have asked her to do so.
How can she identify RA? She was 50 feet away and he had a face covering over his mouth and nose. She can identify bridge guy which she confirms is the man she saw. Which as far as we know can only logically be Richard Allen. Of course there may have been another man wearing a blue jacket and jeans at the bridge at that same exact time (what a coincidence!) and RA isn't bridge guy OR RA is bridge guy but bridge guy didn't kill them.

It’s certainly leaving little time for anything but what the P claims. Took me from 90 to 99% sure RA alone is guilty.

Thank you for making this so clear.

According to AB, @ 1:26:00 min on Day 7 coverage, Libby’s Find My IPhone was ON and SYNC’d with her iPad! I have no words. As soon as they went missing, her location could have been tracked. She could have been found before they were dead if they’d just tracked her location (which was already being shared). WOW.
Didn't someone say the iPad was locked? I'm sure I read they could see notifications pop up when people were messaging Libby's phone but could not get in to the iPad itself. I'll try to find that link.

I have one reference from Evidence from ‘Ground Zero’ upsetting for jurors, family - Carroll County Comet where it says sheriff's deputy Darren Giancola was the officer trying to access the iPad.

are you suggesting that we disregard RA admitting to being there in similar clothes via the that interview because it was “off the record”? i have no doubt that we’ll hear more about RA’s shifting alibi (because it did shift) in the days to come.

just my opinion here — this idea of taking RA’s dozens of confessions (mercy, forgiveness, all the themes of redemption) and minimizing them is exactly what the defense adopted as a strategy. the man confessed his guilt so many times in a case with ever-expanding circumstantial evidence.

just my opinions here. time will tell.
RA never told Dullin what he was wearing, the prosecution isn’t even stating this.

Maybe he was just focused on the three teen females and not the child?

Just was listening to The Murder Sheet and they described what they saw and heard regarding Libby's cellphone video.

The gist of what they say is the video begins with the girls' at the end of the bridge. You can see the bridge, gravel perhaps, grass. The phone goes up at some point and you can see Abby on the bridge. The phone goes back down and then it turns upside down. Then you see Bridge Guy. He is just a small part of the full image. They believe Libby makes a comment that the trail ends here. They hear the word "gun." Abby picks up the pace and runs to the end by Libby. They say Abby sounds frightened and says "freaking me out."

Bridge Guy says, "Guys... (There is a slight pause and they hear a metallic sound) .... Down the hill."
Abby says like, "Huh?"
They seem to start moving and then the video ends.

So, so sad. When I think of Betsy Blair driving off at that exact minute my heart breaks for the girls'. If only someone could have rescued them.

This is NO WAY indicates I would have done ANYTHING DIFFERENT to save those girls in this situation but I have had a couple of experiences riding my bike on a greenway to see a woman alone in a secluded section and then pass a suspicious man heading in the opposite direction directly towards her.

I've pedaled ahead a little further then doubled back just to make sure there is no unusual interaction when they passed each other. This is pure instinct and also from years of listening to my wife about how her radar goes up when she is alone outside anywhere. As a man, I rarely even think about the danger of being alone like that.

We actually had a cyclist who did exactly what I did and when he doubled back he saw a homeless person he had been watching with his pants down grabbing a woman on the greenway. She somehow pulled herself away from him and the cyclist jumped off his bike and was there to stop the attacker from following her further. The cyclist called the police and the perpetrator was eventually arrested.

You never know how many potential attacks are actually averted due to someone with their radar up intentionally lingering around to make sure the suspicious person knew someone else was close by watching.

Those poor girls had to be just totally confused and then terrified. My heart aches thinking about them and what they went thru.

May justice be served. That's all we have left of those precious lives.
