Abby & Libby - The Delphi Murders - Richard Allen Arrested - #202

Just was listening to The Murder Sheet and they described what they saw and heard regarding Libby's cellphone video.

The gist of what they say is the video begins with the girls' at the end of the bridge. You can see the bridge, gravel perhaps, grass. The phone goes up at some point and you can see Abby on the bridge. The phone goes back down and then it turns upside down. Then you see Bridge Guy. He is just a small part of the full image. They believe Libby makes a comment that the trail ends here. They hear the word "gun." Abby picks up the pace and runs to the end by Libby. They say Abby sounds frightened and says "freaking me out."

Bridge Guy says, "Guys... (There is a slight pause and they hear a metallic sound) .... Down the hill."
Abby says like, "Huh?"
They seem to start moving and then the video ends.

So, so sad. When I think of Betsy Blair driving off at that exact minute my heart breaks for the girls'. If only someone could have rescued them.
Terrifying for anyone to be in that position, and in particular, two teen girls out for a walk on a warm late winter day.

The bridge runs Northwest to Southeast. They were at the end of the bridge on the Southeast side of the bridge. They were forced down the hill, direction of travel from the bridge down that hill would be North Northeast or thereabouts, and then they would have been forced in a general Northerly direction, across Deer Creek, to where they were found.

Sharing this prior post of mine for those who may have missed it.

February 13, 2017

At 12:43 p.m. three teen girls and a little girl take a picture on the Monon High Bridge.

At 1:26 p.m. Those same girls take a picture on a bench after having walked the entirety of the approximately one mile trail. They then head westbound toward Freedom Bridge.

At 1:27 p.m. A car that resembles Richard Allen's 2016 Black Ford Focus is seen traveling westbound on CR 300 N. Heading in the direction of the former CPS building.

In his first statement, Richard Allen, says he parked at the old farm bureau building. He says he headed toward Freedom Bridge. He said he was on the trails that day from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

In the vicinity of the Freedom Bridge the three teen girls see a man. They describe him as "kind of creepy", "not very tall", had his hands in his pockets, wearing blue or black jeans and a blue or black jacket. He had gray hair maybe a little brown.
He matched the man in the still photo from LG's cellphone video.

Richard Allen said at the Freedom Bridge he saw three females. One was taller and had brown or black hair. He then says he walked to the High Bridge.

Just before 1:46 p.m.
Betsy Blair observed four girls (The three teen girls and the little girl) walking on the bridge over State Road 25 as she was driving underneath.

At 1:46 p.m.
Betsy Blair's car is seen traveling eastbound.
She parks her car across from the Mears farm and starts walking toward the High Bridge.

At 1:49 p.m. Kelsi drops Libby and Abby off across from the Mears' farm.

When Betsy Blair makes it to the High Bridge she
sees a man wearing blue jeans and a blue jeans jacket standing on platform One approximately 50 feet away. He matched the man from the still photo from Libby's cellphone video.

Richard Allen said in his 2022 statement that at the High Bridge he walked out onto platform One. He described himself as wearing blue jeans and a blue or black jacket.

Betsy turns around to finish her walk and halfway between the high bridge and the Mears' farm parking area she sees two girls who she believes to be Libby and Abby. They were headed to the High Bridge.

At 2:05 p.m.
Libby takes a picture of the bridge in between the second and third platforms.

At 2:07 p.m.
Libby gets on the third platform and turns around to take a picture of Abby walking across High Bridge.

Around 2:10 p.m.
A man on his way to Delphi on State Road 25 observes a purple PT cruiser or a small suv type vehicle parked on the South side of the old CPS building. It was backed in as though to conceal it's license plate.

At 2:13 p.m.
While at the end of the High Bridge or very close to it Libby, who is turned toward the beginning of the bridge, begins recording video of a man on her cell phone. The man is coming from the direction of the beginning of the bridge. He is between the fifth and six platforms at the end of the bridge walking behind Abby.

At 2:14 p.m.
Betsy Blair's car is seen leaving westbound from the trails. As she passes by the old CPS building she sees a car parked in an odd manner. It is in the same general spot and backed in like the man observed around 2:10 p.m.

Around 2:28 p.m.
A man sees a small dark colored car parked at the old CPS building. He describes it as possibly a smart car.

At 2:32 p.m.
Libby's phone ceases movement, according to the Apple Health Data on her cellphone.

At 3:57 p.m.
Sarah Carbaugh is driving eastbound down CR 300 N when she sees a man walking westbound away from the Monon High bridge. He matches the man in the still photo from LG's cellphone video. He appears muddy, bloody, and like he's been in a fight.

There were other individuals on the trails or CR 300 N from 2:30 p.m. to 4:11 p.m. and none of these people saw a man resembling Richard Allen on the trails.
This has been so amazing. I made a copy for myself and new keep adding to it.

<modsnip - discuss the case, not other members>

So far I have not seen any evidence that proves or disproves it’s RA.

I really like the jury and the very good questions they are asking.
<modsnip - response to quoted post>
For me, the defense narratives keep crumbling as more and more information is revealed, <modsnip - discuss the case, not other members> The defense outright misled so many people in the Franks and elsewhere, yet excuses keep being made for them, even more fantastic tales keep getting constructed, and the shifting defense theory is not cause for concern by any. Asking a random investigator if he did a sexual assault kit on the girls and him saying no is a “gotcha!” moment even though it was just a different investigator that did it. Let’s not forget the yellow rope, time of death, the hair that doesn’t match RA, the bullet being found days later, little blood at the scene, clothing was dry - all things supporters latched onto because it destroys the state case, except none of it is true. But that’s just ignored and the next mistruth by the defense is eaten up as if they don’t have a pattern of outright deception.

All my opinion.

The yellow rope was interesting. In all the videos that came out, all we ever saw was the official crime scene tape. What was the reasoning for the rope and where did they place it?

I can't find anything about it with a Google search.

In reviewing reported testimony I found it interesting that a green headscarf was found at ground zero of the crime scene.
Any reports on who was wearing that?
Delphi murders: Contentious cross examination of investigator marks Day 4 of testimony
Also up thread someone mentioned BB was walking her dog when she came upon RA on the MHB.
Is there a source for that?

Also is there a source that reports her testimony specifically the timing of her her three “loops” on the trails?
IMO RA was the only man seen by her and the group of teen girls on the trails from about 12:30 on but looking for BB’s timeline on the trails. Which is on direct opposition to his new adjusted timeline.
Thank in advance.

i definitely have no preconceptions about guilt or otherwise here.

for what it's worth i've always believed that Libby was catfished up to the bridge that day and that Abby was collateral damage to the perpetrator........

from that i've always thought Keegan Kline to be very likely to have had at least some involvement in the whole thing.

All i want to see is something concrete to put RA at that crime scene - then i'd need to hear a decent alternative explanation from the defence to believe him not guilty BUT i just have not yet seen such concrete evidence - therefore i take the standpoint that as yet RA could not and should not be regarded as guilty

all subject to change as the trial progresses and all just my worthless opinion

Btw your “worthless opinion “ isn’t worthless. You have a right to your opinion just as anyone. I personally disagree and think RA is guilty. No doubt in my mind. Moo

<modsnip - quoted post was removed (talking about other members rather than the case>

By the questions this jury seems to have common sense and Occar's Razom instead of most of the social media commenters wih "oh the descriptions are different, so there are different people" despite all the witnesses describe the same guy on the video, the overdressed guy (whom we can see in the video that he isn't a young guy)..We will see their decision.

According to tMS, it was a rope that LE CSI's had used to cordon off only a single path for all LE to walk in and out of "ground zero", so they don't disturb any potential evidence in the area.

Can you point me to where RA places himself there at the time of the crime?

RA has stated he was gone by 2:15 officially.

Unofficially he told Dullin he was there between 1:30 and 3:30

The conversation with CO Dulin, the tip narrative, is official.

The narrative was given freely at RA’s request to a sworn member of LE working the crime who then as is his LE duty turned it over to the command.

It is incorrect and deceptive to state that the tip narrative from RA who initiated the contact to LE of his own free will in order to provide information with the intention of making an official record was not official.

Richard Allen’s tip narrative to Dulin, the CO, is an official record of his voluntarily instigated and freely offered narrative.

all imo

We got to see the full “Down the Hill” video and some curious choices by the State that could prove to be tactical blunders. Lots to cover from Day 4 of testimony in the #Delphi murders trial. Here we go…

13 Things To Know From The Delphi Murders Trial Today - Oct 22

1. The now-famous “Down the Hill” video from Libby’s cell phone is 43 seconds long, Jurors got to see & hear it all today. ISP released a photo of “Bridge Guy” & his voice saying “down the hill” in 2017…
1729687316987.png

2. It shows Libby’s phone mostly pointing downward toward the deck of the Monon High Bridge, but at one point we can see Abby & hear Libby saying “There’s no path.” What we cannot really see or hear is Bridge Guy. An ISP audio/video specialist testified how he changed that.

3. Jeremy Chapman told jurors he was able to freeze a frame of video with Bridge Guy behind Abby & enhance it by cropping, resizing & adjusting the light, color, contrast etc to get a sharper image of the man. He removed background noise so we could hear “down the hill.”

4. To be honest, I wasn’t clear what we had just watched was the “Down the Hill” video until the ISP forensic experts explained what they had done frame-by-frame. To me, Bridge Guy & his audio were nearly undetectable without the enhancements. Amazing Libby captured the video.

5. After jurors saw & heard the Bridge Guy video, the state called 3 women to testify about him. All 3 recognized the Bridge Guy photo distributed by ISP in 2017 & insist they saw Bridge Guy on the Monon High Bridge or nearby trails on the afternoon of the murders.

6. Good for the State: they were very convincing in their recollection of seeing Bridge Guy. Not good for the State: during cross exam, the Defense reminded all 3 witnesses how they described Bridge Guy to investigators back in 2017. What they described was… interesting.

7. These are the words/phrases the witnesses used:

Tall
Early 20s/30s
Bigger build
Dirty blonde curly hair
Muscular
Brown eyes
Boyish looking
Youthful in appearance
Didn’t seem short
Brown poofy hair

In other words, they described Bridge Guy as everything Richard Allen is NOT.

8. So to recap, you have ISP investigators about to testify Allen IS Bridge Guy; witnesses insisting they saw BG who’s tall, muscular & young; and jurors staring at a defendant who doesn’t match that description (nor did he in 2017). For the State, that could be a problem.

9. In another State setback, one of their Bridge Guy eyewitness mentioned her 2017 description of BG was to a police sketch artist … for a sketch of BG that the state successfully convinced the judge to suppress from the jury. Now that it’s been mentioned, that could change.

10. The defense had its own challenging moments today. Atty Brad Rozzi did not seem to score points with the jury during his argumentative cross exam of an ISP crime scene investigator & Andrew Baldwin was scolded for referring to a bullet casing as the state’s “magic bullet.”

11. Of note, through 4 days of testimony, the jury has not heard 1 word or mention of Richard Allen since opening statements. Understandable since the state is still laying the foundation of its case. But still a long way to go to establish “guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.”

13. I shared a bunch of additional details from today’s testimony in tonight’s 13News #Delphi Debrief. Here’s the link if you’d like to watch. Back inside the courtroom tomorrow with @EmilyWTHR to bring you Day 5 of the trial.
Good night.

good morning fellow sleuthers

I think there’s one thing we can all agree on:

If Richard Allen is innocent we want a lot guilty verdict

If Richard Allen is guilty we want a guilty verdict.

How about it?

Ive not had a chance to listen yet. Also, wasn't clear on what's been reported by msm.

Are you able to clarify if LG says "trail ends here" to AW or to BG, or is saying it to both AW and BG?

Thank you in advance.

It appears LG stated it to AW only, but wanted clarification, if anyone knows.
