Welcome back to the Delphi Murders discussion thread.

On the afternoon of Feb. 13th, 2017, best friends Abigail Williams and Liberty German were dropped off at a bridge in the town of Delphi. On Feb 14th their bodies were discovered around noon about 50 feet from the north bank of Deer Creek which is about 0.5 miles from the bridge.

Richard Allen has been arrested and charged with the murders of Abby and Libby

Liggett “well no, actually there’s other reasons, for instance he placed himself at the crime scene by seeing the three people, sighting, car…..and Liggett proceeded to lay out the entire case against RA. Because BR asked him to.

Ok, I had previously tweeted astonishment when Ligette purportedly only mentioned the witness sightings here. Clearly he offered up more.

Still not a fan of him though.

That I am aware the only reference to that up to now involved Mullin’s testimony reviewing an interview with RA & allegedly RA’s car passing by. Was heated because RA claimed he came in from the west side through town versus through the county roads from the east.

ETA nothing concerning pedestrians.

I just got to the part at 1:22:00 where TL also apparently testified that there is no evidence that shows RA was on his phone looking at stock tickers that day. Sounds like another theory is proving correct, that his phone doesn’t appear in any of the tower dumps, which would be next to impossible if he was actually looking at stock tickers on the trails.

And he fricken knows where that photo is from! And it does not matter who took it, it’s you or it isn’t.

This man wasn’t living under a rock. He worked a job that required him to interact with the public, and this case no doubt came up.

And there are apparently searches about this case on his devices. Hope to hear more about that.

This man wasn’t living under a rock. He worked a job that required him to interact with the public, and this case no doubt came up.

I wonder if he said "their phone" or "one of the girls phones". If he knew they shared a phone, that's telling.

One of the things that I have seen reported was his wife was at work, so expected home that day. So after doing all the things at the bridge to commit crimes which I still think would have taken longer than all the parameters of the time line he then has to go home and clean up. His jeans would have been wet through, his boots and socks also, so he had to either wash or throw them away. we don't know if the jacket was wet or dirty also.
I don't know what time she was expected home but it would have been only an hour or two post the murders. And IMO he appeared exactly the same as he usually did as I firmly believe that if RA is the murderer she knew nothing, him being able to appear as he usually was when he was a first time perpetrator IMO is extraordinary, then to go to work the next day and doing the photos for one of the victims families again showing no red flags.
Going to work everyday in that initial period after the murders when the whole town would have been talking about it and wondering who did it, to seeing posters of bridge guy everywhere, plus the sketches and he is able to outwardly be no different to all the people who knew him. To choose to reveal to LE he was on trails (LE would never have found him otherwise IMO).
One of the reasons I am not fully on the RA is the one is what has been revealed about his personality pre and post the murders, let's see what the state has up it's sleeve today to tip me off the fence.

Definitely confused over felony murder in IN.

The jury instructions (#1, #2) say that the defendant (RA) killed AW/LG while kidnapping must be proved.

This is different to saying AW/LG died during/due to a kidnapping by the defendant (RA).


So given the instructions, is it sufficient for the prosecution simply to prove RA kidnapped AW/LG or must it also prove RA murdered them?

Maybe there was a good previous discussion on this or articles someone can link to?

Yep. It's telling that he said it couldn't be him if the photo was from the victim's phone.

Imagine someone shows you a picture of yourself walking down the street. You might wonder where the photo came from, but you wouldn't say, "Well, if that's from a ring cam, it can't be me."

It's an absurd denial.

It only makes sense if he were distancing himself away from the victims. "Nope, not me, never saw them and they didn't see me."

He apparently had a drinking problem and, if so, the wife might be used to mood swings, changes in behavior, etc.

If anyone wants a brief glimpse inside the trial and to experience a little bit what the jury is seeing/hearing, I think here is really good opportunity with the final witness of yesterday, Dave Vido. He was called to describe the search of RA’s house and a lot of photos were shown to the jury. It appears knives and box cutters were everywhere, that would be creepy to me.

It also illustrates how quickly testimony is moving along for the jury, with the great volumes of information they must absorb that we hardly hear about, limited by tweets. JMO

If it is true his wife was at work, then that answers a major question I had in regards to how he was able to avoid his wife spotting him. Even if he had his jacket off, he probably didn't fully change before he arrived home.

I do expect to hear from witnesses in regards to post offense behavior. I'll be really disappointed if we don't, because there just has to be some changes.
