One question I have is why the witness that the D wanted to present on video simply come after the election is over? He could come later this week if his testimony is important. Is that a possibility? MOO

Perhaps it is possible the counting of all ballots in some states could take more than a few days...

I do not know if this will happen...

But I have heard this is a possibility...

All... JMO...

Question…
I know several videos were shown to the jury. I was under the impression that these were the camcorder videos taken outside of his cell when being transported. I am completely naive and ignorant about prisons (thank God), but I’m wondering why those videos would garner such strong reactions as I was thinking there would be some sort of protocol or order when transferring him somewhere. Can someone enlighten me?

I think LE could have gotten a detailed confession out of RA if they had used a woman LE to conduct the interviews.
Probably what they wanted by sending Wala in. Moo. I still cannot believe they had this person as their staff psychologist. I wonder how many other cases she may have called into question now with her unethical behavior? I hope the other inmates who had to deal with her have all contacted their lawyers!!

100 percent agree. Great minds think alike because I was just thinking that. It worked on Chris Watts. As @MassGuy said, anything would have been better than screaming at him, especially because his reactions to women - Wala, his mom, his wife - demonstrated a deep need for their approval and that a sympathetic approach would go a long way with him.

Too bad they didn’t have any FBI profilers around to advise. Oh wait. Sigh.

I think it a crime of opportunity.

Passed them, realized how isolated they would be and took the opportunity to initate a rape which went sideways and ended in a double murder.
I would bet he’d fantasized about an attack many times. Planned it in his mind, rehearsed it. For whatever reason, maybe beer muscles, he chose that day to enact his plan on (seemingly) random victims. A planned attack on a random day, random targets.

Wonder if he’d passed other girls in the past, and resisted his urge.
On Feb 13, 2017, he couldn’t, or wouldn’t, stop himself.

Yep---apparently he confessed too many times to too many people.

We can't believe the inmates because they are convicts. We can't believe the guards because they work for the state.
We can't believe his therapist because she peeked into another convict's file and she posted on social media about the case.
We can't believe our own ears when he confessed to his wife and mother because he is psychotic---even though he was speaking calmly and coherently.

So 60 plus confessions can all be explained away because reasons.... :rolleyes:
I wonder why would anyone would confess 60+ times? Seems rather excessive to me. I’d think once would be all that’s necessary. There must be something seriously wrong with someone who would do that. IMO

I want to know how Allen knows the girls were abducted at the south end of the bridge, and how he knows they moved across the creek.

"He saw a van and got scared, then telling the girls to cross the creek."
Delphi Murders trial: Day 11 live blog

Searchers were looking north and south of the bridge when they were missing, and their bodies were found north of the creek.

I don't suppose he had access to the investigators' working theories. What about the crime scene in the discovery indicates they had moved from south to north through the creek, and had not always been north of it? How did he know which direction 'bridge guy' was moving in? Clothing can be tossed in the creek. I think that is something only the killer would have known, and law enforcement.

JMO
Quite likely because it happened in 2017 and he wasn’t arrested til 2022 - It had been alllll over the news within a short period of time, but he wasn’t picked up until 2022. I’m just saying that isn’t something only LE would have known. The whole town knew that imo.

EDITED by me - it sounded a bit rude on re-read and it was not meant to be at all! Sorry.

Maybe he had to keep saying it over and over, hoping someone would actually listen to him and believe him.

I don't know why I keep coming back to this thought, as to why Abby was redressed and Libby was left nude. But (JMO) its almost like the perp was trying to provide some sort of dignity to Abby but not to Libby. Was Libby his intended victim in the first place. Maybe I follow to many true crime shows.
Good question - interestingly, no insight about this from RA in those “confessions”. You’d think he’d want to explain why he did that. Seems he hasn’t offered that insight to the crime. Or any other really imo.

His were actually dimmable according to the testimony of the Warden during the 3 day hearings. IMO
Makes me wonder if they provided melatonin as a sleep aid to him or not then - the production of melatonin by the body is assisted by darkness: Exposure to Room Light before Bedtime Suppresses Melatonin Onset and Shortens Melatonin Duration in Humans - PMC

And if not, why not? If they did, I wonder if it perhaps made things worse by causing nightmares which is a side effected noted by some people who take synthetic melatonin: Can Melatonin Cause Nightmares? | Sleep Foundation

If no one is listening, telling you to alk to your lawyer, that you did not do it etc. till self interest caught up and you realized they basicsally didn't care if you did do it.

Libby & Abby
Scared to death, facing the monster that was about to slice their throats and take away their lives.

RA admitting he was there, dressed in clothing described by witnesses and CAPTURED ON VIDEO by our hero LIBBY.

RA who declined lunch with Mommy to go grab some beer and go to the trails/bridge, saw the girls and followed them.

Abby---
One of the most notable moments of his testimony, according to News 8’s Kyla Russell, was when he played the 43-second “Bridge Guy” video and shared what was said:

Abby: “Is he right here? Don’t leave me up here.”

Libby: “This is the path…that be a gun…there’s no path here.”

Bridge Guy: “Guys.”

One of the girls: “Hi.”

Bridge Guy: “Down the hill.”

Actually yeah - if they were not dropped off yet, what makes the 1:31pm time marker important enough to note here? I’m confused as to why the witness did this??

Kelsie, Kelsey or Kelsi.

Question: Did anyone check Kelsi's phone just to get the time she made that phone call to her boyfriend? Around the time the girls were dropped off.

Am sure that would have been done or am I wrong.

RA admits that his motive was sexual assault but that he was interrupted.

IMO, he had them down the hill and still on the south side of the creek;
He had them undress under threat of a gun;
The girls are terrified and begin to strip down under his command, their clothes being discarded into a pile;
RA determines that Abby is not 'his type' thus he orders her to redress;
Abby begins redressing her terrified self, grabbing the jeans that come up first (maybe she is searching for her own clothes and he tells her to just hurry up and 'get on with it');
RA is then interrupted in his plans for SA of Libby by a white van travelling up the private drive which he confesses he sees;
RA orders the girls across the creek and they grab at whatever clothing is left in the pile to take with them because they had zero idea that their deaths would be the actual outcome of RA's sick adventure that day;
These terrified girls scramble across the creek under threat of gun by a monster that has already ordered them to strip and drop articles of clothing as they scramble ... was he telling them to "hurry up!!";
They head up the embankment on the north side of the creek and RA immediately kills Abby, probably from behind, as she is not 'his goal';
Abby falls where he kills her, the phone and Libby's shoe underneath her - never to have movement again;
Libby scrambles away from them - he no longer has control of her as she realizes is it life or death at stake - flight or freeze;
RA chases her down and repeatedly slashes at her throat as she is trying to get away;
Libby dies and RA drags her lifeless body back over to where Abby is, back to that large deadfall tree that will block their bodies from being seen from across the creek;
RA takes some time to witness his work, to toss some branches on them to hide them a little better, to perhaps look for the round he dropped;
RA leaves;
It is over.

Occam says: A kidnapping and sexual assault with an admitted purpose of r*pe, the goal of which was interrupted by a white van, and ended in their deaths.

Exactly as RA confessed to.

IMO.

Then why not just plead guilty?
An attorney upthread said that would have to have been done officially. He was in a cell. Someone would have had to take him seriously, then follow a process of some sort to get the confession on record and of course, then a plea. If they thought it was false, probably should have had him evaluated to be sure. Not sure who was responsible for that decision.
