I have a nuanced question and this is all pure speculation on my part:

Hypothetically, if there is an on-going investigation with many "tentacles" surrounding this case, would the state be "allowed' to try Richard Allen without mentioning possible other actors?

I guess my question is: is the fact that RA is currently on trial proof that the state believes he acted alone? Does it put to rest that other suspects are being investigated?
I don’t think they can prove he acted alone, and it appears they *can* try him despite them telling the public about tentacles, and about sketches being two different people etc… etc etc… because he were are and they’re doing exactly that. MOOOO.

Maybe he had to keep saying it over and over, hoping someone would actually listen to him and believe him.

jmo

Like the 20-25 times in his second interview/interrogation on October 26th, 2022?

Holeman lied to him and lied to his wife and ambushed him.

IMHO : He must have felt cornered and frustrated that no-one would listen to him.

I wonder why would anyone would confess 60+ times? Seems rather excessive to me. I’d think once would be all that’s necessary. There must be something seriously wrong with someone who would do that. IMO
You got that right !
60+ times= Because NOBODY would listen to him while he was trying to clear his conscience

Wifey hung up on him so he went to others to try to confess.

Who the Heck murders/slices the throats of 2 young innocent tweens ??

He felt guilty, found God, wants to confess.

Wants God's approval, wifey approval and mommy approval, will you still love me??? I did this, I murdered the 2 innocent girls.

60+ TIMES, hoping somebody would listen to him as he confessed to these brutal murders.

Kelsie, Kelsey or Kelsi.

Question: Did anyone check Kelsi's phone just to get the time she made that phone call to her boyfriend? Around the time the girls were dropped off.

Am sure that would have been done or am I wrong.

I didn’t hear anything to suggest that they checked her device or phone records at all now that you mention it actually. Surely they did though, right? To build the timeline to the best of their ability…. Mooo

It’s still evidence, but the jury would have to determine how much weight to give it. Richard Allen was also cleared …until he wasn’t.

Yes, Richard Allen was erroneously cleared due to an admitted administrative error. He was never 'followed up' or invesitgated like the now-cleared SODDIs were ... until he was.

That follow up and investigation of RA, absolutely maddeningly & frustatingly, took 5 long years. Why?

An adminstrative error simply explained by the tip narrative itself:

Follow up required = "Who are the three girls walking in the area of Freedom Bridge?"
Investigator - "Asked and Answered". By the 18th they already knew who the three girls were. Nothing else to follow up on this one. And .... wrongly marked cleared.

Needless, when RA was eventually followed up and investigated 5 years later than he should have been - he was not cleared, quite unlike the SODDIs, and so here we sit.

Can you provide a link? I recall testimony that his lights were on 24/7 and one witness said he might have had the ability to “dim” his lights, but not turn them off.

You are correct Gallipeau said RA could dim his lights. In the follow up, the State asked him if RA doesn't dim them they would stay on. He said that was correct.

Gallipeau basically described it as a flashlight.

So I stand corrected the word "off" wasn't used, but the word "dimmed" was.

However the point I was making to the other poster is that it is false to suggest the lights constantly on in his cell would have made him crazy when he had the option to dim them but chose not to.

Kelsi in 2019

“She went on to say the most hurtful rumors are related to accusations that her grandfather, her father or other family members may have been involved in the murders.”

"How do people have time for this stuff?" she said during the livestream. "Hopefully people understand that rumors suck and they hurt people."

An attorney upthread said that would have to have been done officially. He was in a cell. Someone would have had to take him seriously, then follow a process of some sort to get the confession on record and of course, then a plea. If they thought it was false, probably should have had him evaluated to be sure. Not sure who was responsible for that decision.
Yeah, that sure doesn’t make sense. Whoever “they” are, that took it upon themselves to decide if a jailed suspect wasn’t being serious about committing a crime, why would they do that? It makes no sense. IMO

Agree.

Richard Allen wasn’t really “cleared,” in the sense that a thorough investigation ruled him out the way it did KAK and others.

It’s really more that he was overlooked, fell through the cracks, his info was mislaid etc.

For five excruciating years.

Thankfully once the neglected tip was at last located, the pieces fell into place.

we will never know what he daud to his lawyers, and whst did they say back.
Okay, I’m confused. When you commit a crime and are arrested and you either hire a lawyer or a public defender is assigned to you, won’t the lawyer ask you if you committed the crime or not?

I’m looking to confirm that police checked KG’s device / records to help build their timeline and came across this article wherein BP said LE said they had DNA - here is the quote and link:

“Police have said there was DNA,” Patty told Ingle in their interview. “They have made the comment that there was DNA.” - https://fox59.com/indiana-news/poli...ew-sheds-further-light-on-the-delphi-murders/

But now at trial, we’re told they do not have DNA that points to RA or to anyone at all. This entire thing just is so awful for the families!! I hope that this trial gets them whatever conclusion they’re hoping for. Moo.

I thought he was diagnosed with some sort of mental illness earlier in his life. He suffered from alcoholism addiction too if I recall correctly.
During these 60+ confessions, was he being treated with psychiatric medications at the time?

Thank you. Setting RA’s case aside (due to the added complication of his mental health), it would seem there must be a process in place for when any detainee wants to confess. This can’t be the first time it’s happened, and there must be a case where a defendant’s mental health was not in question, and they asked to sign a confession.
@steeltowngirl, I'm not very familiar with this case and though am regularly reading some of the threads since trial commenced, am not following trial in media. So with a precursor that I definately could be wrong or misremembering, I recall reading about early testimony here re RA requesting a meeting with the Warden in order to confess. There may have been some sort of written notes tendered in trial, but someone familiar with reports could check that.
Moo.

I think my point is; if RA was seeking to meet with warden to confess, could this have been perceived by RA as first step in to pleading guilty? All I mean is that RA seeking out warden may have been cos he considered warden an authority figure, perhaps assuming that the matter would then be officially dealt with going forward. Strictly my Speculation here.

In terms of Protocol and process, could seeking a meeting with the warden actually be a recognised first step for someone in RA's position? Idk. Inal. All moo.

Most won't, because it's irrelevant.

What a defense attorney is there to do is to defend your rights.

IMO, "NO!"

@AugustWest --- I may be wrong here, but is that a question that you as a Defense Attorney would ever ask your client?
