CourtTV is saying that reporters will not be notified if the jury has a question, lunch break, a note, deadlocked, etc. Now there will be a 2 hour delay when a verdict is reached to when the verdict will be read.

Wow, for a jury who asked so many good questions during the trial, I am actually shocked, and I don't say that lightly, they haven't had any questions, breaks, or notes today. Fingers crossed for a quick guilty verdict. Must be intense in that room right now. I am thankful for the "new" two-hour warning. Maybe I can get something done around here.

According to a post a couple of pages ago by @BUF from a report by CourtTV - there will be NO notifications if there are notes or questions from jurors or if the jury is deadlocked or if the jury goes to lunch. And there will be a 2-hour notice if a verdict is reached.

So, like much of this trial, the public is largely kept in the dark.

I bet the 2 hours is a safety thing. If a verdict comes in and everyone is 5 minutes away the court room will be rushed and I'm sure they want to make sure the families get in safely.

The jury might be taking their time to deliberate as they should, but I don't believe that they will ultimately buy that all of the detailed confessions that he gave were due to 'psychosis' each of those different times. moo Still hoping for a verdict today! I bet they'd like to go home for the weekend.

I wonder if that’s why the defense didn’t call witnesses to speak about his character. I expected we’d hear from at least someone saying that he was a fine upstanding family man, a caring community volunteer or a dedicated national guardsman or something.

It speaks volumes IMO that they couldn’t find ANYONE to get up on the stand and talk about how he could never have done this, he’s such a good guy etc. At best maybe a stray coworker here and there thought RA was an alright dude. At worst, well, one can imagine. By RA’s own admission even his “friends” were quick to believe he could have done it

Why would character witnesses be called in the defenses case? Those are usually called in a punishment phase in most trials I follow, I don’t find that odd at all that they didn’t.

I've read on here that the defense did not do that because it opened the door for the prosecution to cross examine. IMO they didn't want to take the chance that his skeletons in the closet might come rattling out.
He's a hated man by those who believe he is guilty. People always want the bad guy punished and RA doesn't present as a warm fuzzy guy.

I think the news was that reporters and the public will not be notified when they take breaks lunch or bathroom breaks or if they have questions or notes.

Not that none of those things have happened, just that we won't be informed about them was my understanding.

The topic came up concerning character witnesses & at least one, if not two, verified attorneys said that character witnesses are rare. From what I gathered, witness testimony is unreliable, as we’ve all seen in this trial with eyewitnesses so it’s usually a risky endeavor.

Nearly 8 hours is a long time if the jury had consensus early. I am beginning to worry there is at least one and possibly more holdouts for acquittal.

Although there were intelligent and diligent questions from "the jury" during the trial, that does NOT mean every member of the 12 processes what they've heard and seen the same way as whatever member(s) asked those questions. Some may be more susceptible to attempts to confuse by this DT. However, at worst, it seems apparent to me from the questions we saw that there is at least ONE juror who will not be swayed in that direction.

So, I predict "guilty" OR "hung." But not acquittal.
