It is a bit unusual, but then again, it’s a very high profile case. So not unexpected.

It’s a way to try and take some of the media heat off of her, and I think it would certainly
close with her requesting her family’s privacy.
I would like to think she would say she is sorry for not supporting his confessions and having heard all the evidence now accepts he is guilty. Then apologise profusely to the girls' families.

Whether it's hung/mistrial, guilty or not guilty--- it's a verdict, is my understanding. moo
No as it was addressed above- a verdict is guilty/not guilty

She is already planning the appeal in my mind

I was not a member of Websleuths when Abby and Libby went missing, but I was a frequent reader of the forums and I was here the day they went missing. And I've been here every day since, waiting to see the outcome. I remember finding out that they had a photo of the man on the bridge, and feeling so confident that they would surely be able to find him from that. Sadly, it was many years before an arrest and still there are many answers that we may never know.

Happy to be here for a verdict today.

Is RA there yet?

No, I think a hung jury is a non-verdict.
You are correct.

I asked google
No, a hung jury is not a verdict, but rather a situation where a jury is unable to reach a verdict:

Judge learns the verdict same time as everyone else right? Totally second guessing my knowledge of court proceedings after this case -

I started with the case just a handful of hours after the girls went missing. I volunteered for a missing kids group and started sending out missing posters (via email and fax). From thread 1 I've been here but I haven't said much because you've all been so right on the money with your thoughts, facts, dedication - you've all thrown yours hearts into this. Thank you!! No matter what, thank you!
Remember when we had to write to news stations just trying to get the case kept in the news? I think it was Dr Oz that first took it national, IIRC.

It hits me that Abby and Libby are gone.

I know they've been gone all this time, of course, but I feel like today really means they are gone. At odd moments over the years, I would have a nagging feeling about lingering crime-scene questions, "Well, let's just ask the girls what happened." I know that is ridiculous, but there was a feeling that they had information we needed to know for justice and we just needed to access it.

That part is done now.

Rest in peace, girls. You can go.

Thanks for all the DMs!!
I have heard 3:00pm, in the linked LIVE above, it said "Any Minute".....

Not yet per WTHR/13 reporting live from outside the Court.
Have they been bringing him in the front? Or could he have come in a side/back door?

;)My post corrected as noted:

Edited: jury cannot agree on a verdict. Therefore, jury is deadlocked and hung jury/mistrial is not a verdict.

WTHR reporters said on the live stream that he is always brought sort of through a side entrance. One of them walked up the street to make sure that he was not there yet. As of about 8 minutes ago.
