We’re going to get some snow between this evening & tomorrow. Early winter yet. I’m 100 miles south & our ground has yet to freeze. January through February are usually the coldest months. Snow can come as late as end of March or early April but typically done by March.


They’ve been putting all their eggs into the appeal basket, I’m sure. Trial was surprisingly underwhelming as far as the defense was concerned - going to continue to hear the whining about the SODDI being suppressed, amongst other things, I’m sure. Get the binkies (pacifiers) ready.


And the times (both of them) he says he was at MHB the day of the murders & all that proof he was without a doubt using his cellphone to check his stocks that day! Don’t forget the BG starter kit too!

Of course, the smarter move would have simply been to not attempt to SA & then murder 2 young girls out of cowardice.

Appeal all about not being able to present a "it wasnt me defemnse" which means accusing specific people, Soddis, without evidence.

Hopefully accusing specific people
in court with no evidence isnt going to be a thing granted by the appelate court.

Also branches look like runes, it's not evidence.

I was more gobsmacked because I figured the weather would be bad. It’s fantastic the girls have such a faithful following that have been completely committed to keeping their memory alive.



Unfortunately, the negative sticks out a lot in this case because we have seen so much nasty stuff from the defence and their vocal supporters who have tried to make a mockery of justice.

It’s fantastic that justice has prevailed and after tomorrow there will be a deafening silence as he gets sentenced to life and the majority hitch their bandwagon to another lost cause.

The sentencing is tomorrow at 9:00 am Delphi time which is 6:00 here in CA which is earlier than I normally get up on a weekday.

I am anticipating the sense of justice I will feel when I wake up and learn what RA's sentence is. I'm hoping for the worst.

Kindly, it may not take until 5PM, as I posted.

The defense has an opportunity to present mitigating factors (lessen the sentence) & state has an opportunity to present aggravating factors (maximize the sentence) prior to the judge handing down the sentence. Plus there may be victim impact statements & opportunities for others to speak, such as the defendant which is doubtful since they’re acting huffy again & don’t want to "interact with state actors". Boo hoo - I guess that means he wants to interact with actors who pretend he’s innocent.

Friday, December 20th:
*Sentencing Hearing (@ 9am ET) – IN – Abigail Joyce Williams (13) & Liberty Rose Lynn German (14) (Missing Feb. 13, 2017, found killed Feb. 14, 2017, after walking on a local hiking trail & were discovered around noon about 50 feet from the north bank of Deer Creek which is about 0.5 miles from the Monon High Bridge Trail, Delphi) – *Richard “Ricky/Rick” Matthew Allen (44 @ time of crime/50/now 52) arrested & booked (10/26/22) into the Carroll County Jail & charged & arraigned (10/28/22) with 2 counts of murder while committing or attempting to commit kidnapping of both victims. Plead not guilty. Initial bond @ $20M on 10/27/22. On 2/16/23 held with no bond.
Amended charges (on 1/18/24/granted on 3/18/24): 2 counts of felony murder (knowingly & intentionally), 2 counts of murder (while committing or attempting to commit kidnapping of both victims). Plead not guilty. Carroll County
*Transferred to White County jail from Carroll County for security reasons. And was transferred (11/2/22) to IN. DOC at Westville Correctional Facility at a more secure facility. Was awaiting transfer to Westville Correctional Facility but Judge Gull denied move (6/15/23). She plans to take the arguments under advisement & will make a ruling on whether or not he will be moved out of Westville at a later date. Judge Gull denied move (7/5/23). On 12/6/23 Allen was transferred from Westville to Wabash Valley Correctional Facility (long term segregation). Allen was booked (5/6/24) into the Allen County Jail [for hearing on 5/7/24]. Allen back (5/7/24) to Wabash Valley Correctional Facility. Judge Gull granted transfer [8/1/24] of custody to the Carroll County Sheriff [instead of IDOC] but will be held in Cass County jail until trial is over. Trial began with jury selection on 10/14/24 & ended 10/15/24.
Trial began on 10/18/24 & ended with closing arguments on 11/7/24. Mondays thru Fridays from 9am to 6pm. Saturdays from 9am to noon. Prosecutors rested their case on 10/31/24. Defense began their case on 10/31/24 & rested on 11/7/24 [last witnesses on 11/6/24]. Closing arguments on 11/7/24. *Jury started deliberations on 11/7/24 & ended on 11/11/24 with a verdict.
*Total hours by day: 11/7/24 (Day 1): ~2pm to 4pm. [2 hours]. 11/8/24 (Day 2): 9am-4pm [~7 hours]. 11/9/24 (Day 3): 9am-2pm [~5 hours]. 11/11/24 (Day 4): 9a-1:30pm [~4 ½ hours]. Total deliberation hours: ~18 ½ hours
Verdict: Guilty on all charges.
*12 jurors (7 women & 5 men) & 4 alternates [3 women & 1 man]. 3 alternates (3 women) One alternate was dismissed for a family emergency on 10/25/24. Jury is sequestered. Will deliberate from 9am to 4pm daily.

11/11/24 Monday, Trial Day 21/Verdict Watch (Day 4): Jurors deliberated from 9am & ended about 1:30pm reaching a verdict. Total deliberations ~4 ½ hours.
Verdict: Guilty on all charges!

Sentencing hearing on 12/20/24 @ 9am. A gag order is in place until the sentencing, meaning Allen, lawyers, jurors, families & witnesses will not be allowed to speak on the verdict. The sentencing hearing will take several hours (or all day) as the State & Defense argue for a longer/lighter sentence & the judge hears victim impact statements from families. Each charge brings a maximum penalty of 45-65 years in prison.

12/4/24 Update: Judge Gull denied a media request to have a camera in the courtroom for the sentencing of Allen on Dec. 20. She did not offer any explanation as to why.
12/13/24 Docket updates: Pre-Sentence Investigation Report filed by Allen County Adult Probation Dept. Notice of Exclusion of Confidential Information filed by Allen County Adult Probation Dept. Order Issued. The Carroll Circuit Court, by Special Judge Frances Gull, having been advised copies of the Presentence Investigation, which was filed on 12/13/24, may have inadvertently been made accessible to Margaret Christensen, Jessica Laurin Meek, and/or Dan Byron, does hereby order said parties to delete and/or destroy all documents they may have received as part of the Presentence Investigation filing of 12/13/24. Pursuant to Administrative Rule 9(G) & Indiana Code 35-38-1-13, the Presentence Investigation is a confidential document & the above named individuals are not permitted parties, pursuant to said statute. 12/19/24 Update: Ahead of his sentencing tomorrow, Allen’s attorneys have said he should “not participate in providing information for the pre-sentence investigation (PSI) report to the Allen County probation department.” They feel there is “no value” in him talking to state actors, a new memo filed this morning says. The memorandum, states that Allen chose not to participate in the pre-sentence process. His team says they will not present evidence at tomorrow’s hearing outside of the memorandum & that they will not be participating much.

Today is the day...for sentencing!!!

So glad it's finally here, hopefully it will be ran with the utmost respect from everyone in the Courtroom. Strength to the families during what will be an emotional time, especially during impact statements. May they start 2025 with the ability to begin actually healing from their almost 8 years of literal hell on earth.

Abby and Libby you have not been, nor will ever be, forgotten by those of us everywhere who have cheered on Justice & Truth in this case over the years. I can't think of a more perfect Holiday gift.
