GUILTY Abby & Libby - The Delphi Murders - Richard Allen Arrested - #220

  • #1,161
KA interview is really something.

The first thing I found odd was when she initially denied talking to RA about being on the trails. It is very brief, but seems almost like a knee jerk reaction to cover up for him.

Q: "Okay, okay, did he ever talk to you about being out there that day?" KA: No. Q: The day the girls went missing. KA: No
Q: Never said a word about (inaudible). KA: Well, actually no, he said he went for a walk Q: Okay. KA: He did say he went for a walk out there. And that he ran into these three girls that were weird.

The next is the three girls being weird. RA already trying to discredit them as witnesses as he knows they saw him.

She says he told her he was there between 1:30 - 3:30. His original timeline.

The lawnmower and the phone OMG. Now we know what happened to the missing phone. Whether he actually staged an accident and ran over his phone is unknown, but now he has his reason for a new phone and not keeping the old one (which he always did.).

When asked if that was RA in the picture, she basically concluded BG is dressed like RA, is short like RA, and is fat like RA. She admits RA has walked the bridge before. In better shape or not, the height of the bridge with no guard rails would get to a lot of people!

No close friends. Temper and impulsive when drunk. Suicidal and worsening depression after the murders. 6 months in a mental institution. Drove the Ford Focus and parked in the CPS building.

I believe that by the time he was in Westville she knew he was likely the killer. Her demeanor completely changed from the stunned, scared, whimpering & crying wife in 2022 to just an angry woman who would probably say or do anything to support her "man". The clowns had their claws deep into her psyche & likely convinced her they would gain an acquittal.

I feel they are cut from pretty much the same cloth except that she wouldn’t stoop to the same depths her husband did. I do believe they are both very self centered, codependent, lying people & she’s afraid to live her life without him. She had every opportunity to at least question his story or even stand on her own & has failed to do so at each & every turn up to this point in time & AFAIK.

Never were there questions during their recorded phone calls that we heard. It was always someone else messing with him or his meds. Way, way too much sympathy for the devil.

JMO & doesn’t make me correct at all.
I'm with you.

When she heard that her husband was on the trails the day of the murders, she asked him to self-report. He was probably worried that someone saw him, and hoped he could downplay a report about him if he came forward. Did she go with him, or was he alone? Was the incorrect record of his name accidental, or intentional?

When she heard his voice and saw him on video, he would have told her that he self-reported, and they're not looking for him. Didn't they both report that his clothes that day are common, or was it only Richard?

After police shared evidence with her, and implored her to encourage her husband to be truthful, she is upset, but she doesn't ask him to be truthful. She asked him why his bullet was at the murders, why he didn't tell her that he was on the bridge. She appears to understand that he is guilty.

In August 2025, she appeared on camera declaring him innocent.

How does she explain the bullet, that he was on the bridge, that he looks and sounds like bridge-guy, that his car was at the scene during the murders, that he was seen by 5 witnesses?

AND by his own admission, combined with the other eye witnesses the juveniles, BB, SC, and Abby and Libby by video) who all reported seeing one and only one man at the MHB, he also saw no other men/man, further sealing his fate by noting BW arrival while he (Ricky) was still there. If there had been other men there, Ricky would have said so.

Bears repeating: it couldn't have been anyone else! Because Ricky would have encountered the other BG, and he did not.

He also didn't know that Libby filmed him, boxing him in.

His original time: 1:30 to 3:30.
Juveniles seeing him after 1:30 but before 2.
BB not seeing any BGs on her first loops, seeing one on her third loop very close to 2pm on the bridge no less, and just before encountering Abby and Libby as they moved toward the bridge.
Abby and Libby arriving after the juveniles left, while BB was in her third loop, heading toward the bridge, taking photos and a video that cinch the timeline from 2:07 (Snapchat photos) to 2:14 (video), phone movement ceasing at 2:32.

If KA wants to pretend Ricky is innocent (despite the evidence, despite his confessions), just what does she think killed them? Couldn't have been sweatered ninjas -- Ricky didn't see any. Another villain? Who? Special ops dude who dropped from the mothership, while dressed like Ricky....

Rickdiculous.

Rickdiculous.

Perfect word. Well played!

Again, people lead double lives and RA sure did that. His wife would never have imagined. I just don't think she could imagine him doing it is why she thinks he didn't do it.

Here are links to the documents just released to appeals attorneys and the state.
Volume 1 at page 154 starts KA’s interview with LE prior to RA’s arrest.

Thank you for these links!

I need to re-read the interview with KA. I'm curious how much she revealed that helped incriminate Richard Allen.

When Russell Williams, a Canadian serial killer, was arrested in his early 50s, one question that everyone asked was about his history. No one wakes up at the age of 50 and decides to murder women. Same question about Richard Allen. He was in his early 40s when he committed murder that captured headlines.

What was Richard Allen doing before that? Russell Williams was breaking into home and stealing underwear. He had a history in his 20s of getting a kick out of scaring women.

What do we know about his history, and what do we know about his early steps, before boldly committing a double murder on a sunny afternoon? What did he get away with that made him confident enough to do this?

If I may tweak this, I don't think it was a matter so much that she did or didn't think he could have done it, but that she just couldn't get her head around anyone she knew being able to do such a thing. Slight distinction but a distinction nonetheless.

No one would want to believe someone they thought they knew could do something like this.

The facts, however, were staring her in the face.

It turns out that tame CVS guy wasn't so milquetoast after all.

Spotty work history, lotta jobs. Seems he had issues with people...

He had years to clean up his internet history too, mow it down, like his cellphone.

KA said they had a trusting marriage iirc, she didn't need to see what he was doing on his phone. That they both just did their own thing (on their phones). He didn't do social media so..... what was he doing on his phone? She said he checked his stocks, mainly on his computer iirc.

I think Ricky had a robust presence on adult sites, much of it longsince lost. His limited Google searches give an indication of his interior fantasy life. His email address -- yikes.

Up until that day, I don't think he had the rage to carry out what he did, and in retrospect, probably shocked his own self that he had done it.

He didn't deviate that day however. He was already a deviant. He just took it next level, and IMO it was a direct response to feeling neglected by his emotional support wife when her focus shifted understandably and rightfully to her mother, after the loss of her brother.

I happen to think Ricky thought he'd lost (her) and had nothing else to lose...

Probably figured he'd take his own life.... maybe even contemplated it but as we've seen, he's not suicidal as much as he's learned to use the threat of suicide to gage whether he's loved -- he gets an emotional rise every time.

It disgusts me every time I think of it. He forced Abby and Libby into his sick fantasy, low self esteem, codependent drama and took their lives to satisfy his. Revolting.

I know the subject matter isn’t humorous at all but sometimes your choice of words or scathing phrases makes me actually chuckle…."mow it down". Such perfection.

How dare anyone’s attention stray too far from the short, fat, nobody with a thing for feet & young girls.

Too bad Bigfoot didn’t show up that day - he might have left DNA everywhere.

If the creek had been frozen, IMO LE would have recovered DNA. MOO.

If his wife did not suspect that he was involved, why did she initially state that he never talked to her about being on the trail that day?

Then she adds that he went for a walk, but three girls (one older, looking after two younger) frightened him. She hasn't yet placed him on the trail.

Then she heard that the girls were missing, wanted to help search, and thought his response about being blamed was not believable. She thought they were lost, he thought he would be blamed. Next she states that it wasn't reasonable for a lot of people to search for the girls.

Finally, she is clear and factual. He did talk to her about being on the trail the day the girls were murdered. She wanted to search for the girls and he said no. He saw three girls and no one else. She told him to self-report, so he met a conservation officer at a grocery store parking lot to report that he was at the park from 1:30-3:30. That was before Libby's video was released, pinpointing the kidnapping shortly after 2:00.

Why does she initially deny that they discussed what he did that day?

Officer Vido is the one that told KA that Allen said he was there between 1:30 -3:30. To which KA replied, "Okay."

It is interesting that RA didn't tell Liggett and Mullin on October 13, 2022 about one of his phones being destroyed by a lawn mower when they were asking about his phone. After all, he talked on and on about prior cars he had when they asked him what he drove that day.

An Orion report dated February 16, 2017 states that a "Rick Allen Whiteman" reported via contact method "email" that he was on the trails Monday between 1 and 3 maybe and he saw three females.

The contact method is listed as email. That leads me to believe that RA emailed in his tip. RA told Mullin and Liggett (10/26/22) that he went down to the station and talked with someone and they came out and took his information down.

In the Evansdale murders, FBI put together a list of changes that the murders make afterwards. One is changing appearance, such as cutting hair.

Has anyone found a photo of Richard Allen in the week prior to the murders?

In late November 2016 RA's hair was really short. He had like a buzz cut on the sides of his head and about half an inch to an inch of hair on the very top of his head.

RA also had a well trimmed "circle beard" in late November 2016.

In my opinion, you’d have to be mad to think KA didn’t know that that was RA when “down the hill” was shown on the news daily for 5 years. She isn’t fooling me with this nonsense.

Personally, I think it's wishful thinking and denial on KA's part. Especially with the DTH part. He did NOT disguise his voice when he said that to the girls, thinking "I'd better disguise my voice in the event I'm being recorded so no one will recognize it". The fact Libby DID record him, and the fact he didn't take her phone and get rid of it, are heroic and mindboggling.
