Just because the state says it was a sexually motivated, whether or not it took place, does not make it so. Can’t wait to see how they prove that. JMO
Honest question here-- if you don't think it was sexually motivated, what do you believe it was, that motivated BG to kill 2 innocent young teenagers ???

And to add to @Spartygirl ‘s excellent question, what other reason was there to leave Libby nude and to re-dress Abby?

Humiliation was already in place just by killing them and leaving them like trash in the forest.

Why strip the clothes? Why did he want to see them undressed?

Twitter thread from CourtTV Reporter Barbara McDonald...
I've included some of the tweets that stood out or are seemingly new information to me.
State named witnesses that weren't on previous lists: Becky Patty, Anna Williams, Derrick German, Nikkole Robertson, Brad Weber.
Nikkole Robertson was/is FBI, and she wrote the PC affidavit that said Ron Logan was the killer of the girls.
Defense also listed some new witness names: Doug Carter, Tony Kline, Mike Patty, Logan Holder, and Robert Ives (former CC prosecutor)

It was in the motion to exclude confessions.

Here is the article you can find the motion.

“They say Allen “… ‘confessed’ to ‘molesting (those) two young girls and shooting them in the back.’ On another occasion, (Allen) professed his sorrow for molesting Abby, Libby, and others which he specifically named … These facts are known to be falsities, none of which are supported by the autopsy findings by Dr. Roland Kohr as to the cause of death of the girls and unsupported by the absence of any evidence that either one of the girls were sexually assaulted near or before the time of their deaths.”

**Apologies - Graphic**

Not all sexual assault leaves traces that would be observable to a medical examiner. Sexual assault could be fondling/groping as well, and sexual assault of that kind isn't likely to leave evidence behind. The fact that the girl's were made to undress is unfortunately indicative that they suffered sexual assault before they were murdered. JMO.

Was Abby undressed? I understood she was dressed in her own clothes and some of Libby’s as well, right?
With regard to why someone would leave Libby naked, that would force me to go into areas that have been verboten for us to post about. I’ll leave it there. JMHO

This is wild to me - with as long as this case has been around and as much talk as there has been, it shouldn't go this fast. Can't wait to hear what people in the courtroom say - was the defense allowed to properly question the panel?

Super long day in court today - but 14 jurors were selected, 2 more are needed. There could be a childcare issue for one juror selected today. Attorneys to let judge know in AM what they want to "do about her".

Nick McLeland: “This case is about 3 things: BG (Bridge Guy), A bullet, and the brutal murder of two girls”

Prosecutor McLeland: “BG used the gun he had to force the girls down the hill, and killed Abby and Libby. His intent was to have his way with them but got interrupted,”

Only family I saw in attendance today was Diane and Eric Erskin, the grandparents of Abby Williams.

Per Court TV Affiliate WRTV: So far, 14 jurors have been seated with eight of them being women and six being menThe jurors have a variety of backgrounds including, a nurse, a counselor, a retired man, two with law enforcement families, and one who has been on three other juries.

@NewsyBarbara

UPDATE in the #Delphi trial.

- 14 jurors have been seated.
- 12 jurors and 2 alternates.
- 8 women, 6 men.

One juror will be discussed Tuesday, may be dismissed.
The final 2 alternates will be selected then when jury selection continues.

Am I missing something or are Libby’s grandparents witnesses for opposite sides of this trial?
I remember that for a very brief moment in time some years ago, online people were floating MP around as a possible suspect, which IMO was completely absurd and based on 0 facts whatsoever. I would think that is the only think all the Defence witnesses have in common, Tony Kline and co - there are all names that have been floated online as possible suspects.

Would be very happy to be proven wrong.

All MOO

EDIT: Edited to add that in my opinion, many of the names we saw in the recent DT witness filings will be hostile witnesses.

I was wondering, because I only followed the Rhoden Massacre a little, and I know how complicated the trials were: Did they have anywhere near 120 defence witnesses?
oh no not even close and then they put the defendant on the stand and he did horribly and made it so very easy for the jury. All they had to do was decide if they believed him and his story was not believable.

I don't think there is any chance that RA will take the stand in this case, but I wish he would.

The defense is calling Doug Carter as a witness? Any thoughts on that?!

jmo
Trying to catch the LE out on any inconsistencies throughout the various stages of the investigation throughout the years, would be my guess? I see that it's been reported that the DT claims that evidence went untested because of inside conflicts between different LE bodies; in which case, DC would be an interesting person to have on the stand.

Only one trial so far (two of the killers confessed as part of plea bargaining) but no, there weren't that many defense witnesses. They called an expert witness. They called some friends from their time in Alaska, including a pastor and his son whose churches they attended. I'll have to go back to check. George IV's defense team focused more on trying to keep a lot of evidence from being shown and discussed with the jury.

In a surprise move, George IV took the stand and testified in his own defense.

That's what I thought, thank you so much for confirming!

(I do wish that RA would take the stand. I know it is very unlikely, but one can dream...)
