I'm thinking whoever received the photo saved it and why we have knowledge of it and can still view it today. Also, there's always been something lurking about the phone being given back to Libby's family and when LE retrieved it for a second extraction (perhaps looking for the snap chat photo of Abby), there was a photo of the funeral. Just more odd stuff to add to the pile of strange. MOO

But is there evidence that RA attended the girls' funerals?

DELPHI DAY 5 QUICK MORNING NOTES

Pathologist Roland Kohr currently on the stand

He did the autopsies and said both died from deep slash wounds across their throats

No evidence of sexual trauma to Abby (that question was not asked of Libby yet when we got our notes, but pathologist could not testify as to whether or not she was touched sexually

Before the pathologist, Sarah Carbaugh testified

She’s been the strongest witness of Bridge Guy so far

She says she saw BG down CR 300N by the cemetery at about 4pm in the afternoon as she was driving past
Says he was hunched over and plodding with hands in pocket and head down… there was no eye contact
Says BG was muddy and bloody on his clothes
Says blood was on lower legs, feet and ankles
Says rest of him was muddy as if he had fallen down a hill or in a muddy creek

At no point does she say or was she asked if Bridge Guy was Richard Allen in her opinion

She had more difficulty on cross, becoming combative with defense attorneys

Defense asked why she didn’t mention blood in her past statements to law enforcement. She said she did but they did not write it down

She also says it was in her videotaped testimony but that videotape was lost when the DVR was recorded over

Lost reports, DVR footage destroyed, incomplete notes. But yet the “Chain of Command” for the bullet was pristine! IMO

No witness has positively ID'd him thus far so I wouldn't hold my breath for an eyewitness account at the funerals.

#UPDATE: Updates from the afternoon of day 5 in the #Delphi double murder trial.

- The state called Christopher Cecil, commander of the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. He’s spearheaded two reports on the activity of Libby German’s cell phone.
- The phone was being used by both girls. We saw a breakdown of all the apps that not only had Libby’s logins, but Abby’s too.
- The phone was last unlocked around 2:07 p.m. and then the Bridge Guy video is taken at 2:13 p.m. At 2:14 p.m., someone tries to unlock the phone with their fingerprint but is unsuccessful.
- 2:32 p.m. is the last known movement of the phone.
- The phone stayed on and received messages late into the night, at least until about 10:30 p.m.
- Cecil says there’s no indication the phone was turned off but that it didn’t receive notifications again until 4:33 a.m. on Feb. 14. That’s when about 20 SMS messages came through.
- When asked why there’s a gap, Cecil said he didn’t know.

How deep are these wounds? Did we get specific measurements?

Did they hit bone?

I doubt it with Abby. Her wound was only an inch deep.

I think it's highly likely with Libby. Multiple deep incisions. Some overlapping the others.

I have to agree that it's not easy to dress a dead body, but I'm thinking it would be easier in this case, as Libby weighed twice as much as Abby, according to their Missing posters (100/200 lbs). JMO

Wow. Going further into notes on SC she was an even worse witness than I expected. Not just in her previous statements but her manner in the court. If I were state I wouldn’t have even put her on the stand. But they have to to try and put bg there at 4. What a mess.

The jury is going to remember how contradicting, off, combative and loud she was. I doubt they will find her a credible witness when it comes time to try and make it stick that somehow RA was still there at 4.

We will see I suppose.

I apologize in advance that this may sound crass to some, but my mind keeps going back to what appears to be Libby's legs spread in her final resting place. I only bring it up because I thought that if a body is drug, which she was (it looks like it might have been by just her left arm), that their legs would close from the motion of being drug. Does anyone know with certainty if they'd close, remain open if they started out that way, or open with the motion of being drug?

For instance... say her right arm was over her head and she was drug by her left arm, her right arm wouldn't remain up, it was move downward as she was drug simply from the motion. Hence me thinking her legs would have been closed.

Anyway, if that's the case, then Libby's positioning was likely staged after being drug, for whatever reason the murderer had.

My opinion is that even if they had gotten the 2017 phone he would have already swapped out/destroyed the SIM card from that phone and any incriminating evidence would have been gone.

I don’t think the SIM card stores photos or video or web browser history? If it was all on the SIM card, we may have had a lot more info from Lg’s phone despite the fact it was factory reset in the weeks just before her murder. I believe these are stored directly to the device which is why people buy devices with X amount of storage (eg: a 128g iPhone will store more than a 16g device). If this helps? Moo.

Thanks. So he didn't state how deep the cuts were to Libby, just Abby. Or specify at the time what type of knife he thinks was used.

He just thought to himself 7 years later it could be a boxcutter.

Do we even know if he was one of the searchers that night or the next morning? Not an opinion, a question.

I think it was stated that her wounds were 'near decapitation' at some point by someone, though, so to me, that suggests the cuts probably went very deep. Both of her carotid arteries and left jugular vein were severed. That isn't shallow by any measure.

Holy moly. SC stated an amber alert is what brought her in. Three days later.

There was no amber alert. Wonder if defense has caught this yet.
