Mullin said Allen told police he saw three girls on the bridge and was “looking at his stock ticker.” Allen then said one of the girls “appeared to be older” and that she was “babysitting.”

Mullin told the jury he showed Allen a photo of “Bridge Guy” and that Allen responded, “If the photo was taken with the girl’s camera, it couldn’t be him.”

The former police chief said Allen agreed to let him look at the phone, but then got angry and walked out of the interview. After that, Allen was taken back to his house.

Court took a lunch break at 12:06 p.m.

He didn't say, "No, that's not me." But he said, if the girls took that, it couldn't be me.

Big difference. One is emphatic and sure, the other places distance between himself and the fact.

Serious question re: the second location:

Has anyone EVER heard of a case where a victim was removed from a location to a totally different place, then returned to the original location, either already dead, or alive and then killed at the original spot?

I’ve been pondering this on and off for a while and I can’t think of a single one.

I can’t, but I’m sure it’s happened, just under very different circumstances.

The good thing is that we don’t even have to rely on behavioral stuff. The crime scene says that’s where they were killed, and the phone never moved from that spot.

Any theory that involves living girls being kidnapped and then returned alive, just to be murdered under the noses of a search team, is not a serious theory.

But he would not HAVE to produce it if he didn’t want to, is what I was asking- if he was on the bridge checked stocks and left at 2p for instance- I was curious as to at what point the defense would have to disclose that they had that information from the phone-

I don’t think that he does have a solid alibi or that the phone is sitting somewhere- I just didn’t know at what point evidence/information would have to be shared

I am not a lawyer, but I think he can’t be compelled to incriminate himself. It seems to follow that compulsory self-exoneration is also prohibited but that issue doesn’t come up as often.

RA apparently gave an account of his late morning/afternoon to investigators in the October 13th interview where he stated he "went to his mom’s house in Peru, returned to Delphi, and picked up a jacket, went to the trails around 12 p.m., and left at 1:30 p.m." This is from the WISH-TV coverage I linked upthread.

Yet again these are different times than what he told DD on February 18th.

Was it February 18 or 16? Because one report uptthread stated the report was dated February 16th.

A lot of people, nearly every day in these threads (you can go back and check) surmised that Richard Allen must of spoken to law enforcement before the photo was released because he wouldn’t have if he knew he was “captured on film”

Everyone is learning new info or confirming/dismissing speculations as evidence is released in court. Opinions and ideas might change yet again when/if we learn even more.

According to a post upthread, He had to talk to his wife and he told her he was there at the bridge that day.
She must have given her permission for him to talk to DD, IMO

Steve Mullin gave details on the first time RA was interviewed by LE after the tip was uncovered. When RA was first interviewed, he was Mirandized and let law enforcement look at his phone and gave his password. As time went on, Mullin said he became agitated and walked out. They gave him a ride back to his home, after which they acquired the search warrant and the search began. Mullin asked him why he called in the tip on that day (Feb 16th, 2017) and RA said "Because I talked to my wife and told her that's where I was." They asked him if the image could be him and he said 'If this image was taken with the girls' camera, there's no way it could be me."

Following this it’s be really interesting to know the date he purchased a new cellphone. His cellphone carrier should know from their records.

It’s one thing to discard an old one but IMO it ups the suspicion level if it is replaced just after one knows that cellphone might be of interest to LE.

This interview also mentions ‘agitation’ suggesting RA isn’t entirely as calm as a cucumber. JMO

Tried listening to AB a few days ago. She insinuated there was a pattern in the blood on one of the bodies. I struggle to listen for any length of time.

I’m not sure if that’s the recap I’ve been listening to, but if it is, she is explaining how the blood on Libby’s face is running “up” in a way that would characterize being moved or even at a place where face would be lower than neck. Makes sense if the blood truly is running up her face.
IMO I have found her to be interesting so far. I’ve only listened to the one from last night (almost 4 hrs long) and the one from Day 6 (only halfway so far…they are long and in depth!). I have found them a nice change from reading the short updates from the news channels.

According to this source, Allen self-reported on Feb. 16th but DD didn't talk to him until Feb. 18th. However, as we know, sometimes the reporting isn't good until court ends for the day and the reporters can correct any errors.

I went back to see when the photo was released and it was 2/15/2017 and in that release it was not stated that it was from the victims phone, it was said that they wanted to talk to this person because he might have seen something. I am unsure of exactly when we learned it was a photo from the victims phone, but he was not being reported as a POI when the photo was released and it was not stated that the photo was from a video on the victims phone.

On 2/16/2017 RA didn't know they had a video or his voice on that video.

On the threads, we discussed for a long time where this photo might have come from. Many thought it was a trail cam or similar.

I think however they phrased it, people believed that guy was the killer.

I remember believing it was from a game camera at the time. I think Allen saw the photo, and was trying to get ahead of it. It’s so maddening, because if this mistake wasn’t made, he’s probably arrested within days.

There would have certainly been much more evidence.

I waited to see what date because it never was revealed until today. He talked to Dulin on February 16th. The date the still photo of "Bridge Guy" was released the day before on the 15th.

I am wondering if that picture prompted him to let LE know he was on the bridge before they came looking for him.

My understanding is that Libby was recording him secretly by the movements of her phone from up and down and then upside down.

I went back to look at those early days and the photo was released saying this man was on the trail and not that he was a POI and it wasn't even mentioned that the girls reorded him or that this still photo was from a video from the victims phone.

I do recall us discussing if it was from a trail camera.. so many theories on where this photo came from early on. The police did not state it was from Libby's phone.

I think RA thought he would just to say he was there and it would take care of that photo they were sharing around and that would be it.

I'm curious what he thought once they disclosed that photo was from a video and then they said it included his voice.. then they released his voice.. ha

Dulin said he was tasked with assisting with and following up on leads. He told the jury he received a lead on Richard Allen and he contacted Allen by phone. Dulin told the jury that he requested to meet with Allen at his home, then police headquarters. Allen refused and requested that they met at a grocery store parking lot.

To correct you, Allen said he saw 3 females, not 4.

I don't need to be corrected but thanks. The PCA said four juvenile females were seen by BB passing overhead as she arrived to park. The PCA said they interviewed 3 females so at that time many people assumed the witness was wrong or making it up. Turns out she wasn't.

BB advised she saw four juvenile females walking on the bridge over Old State Road 25 as she was driving underneath on her way to park.
