This is of Indiana State Police Superintendent Doug Carter who took the stand today to talk about the FBI's role in the investigation. He kicked them off the investigation in August 2021.

Perhaps it involved the FBI’s ‘Joint Terrorism Task Force’ participation in the Rushville investigation into Odinism. Anything with the word terrorism makes for an ominous title, creating unnecessary fear amongst the general public. MOO

“Baldwin and Rozzi's memo named several law enforcement investigators, including officers with Indiana State Police and the FBI, who theorized of possible Odinistic involvement in the girls' deaths. The judge ruled that no physical evidence existed, and the theory would only serve to confuse jurors.

Disagree and have seen convictions overturned on appeal due to not enough evidence to convict so what did the jury convict on? Emotions!
For example...

I recall you have been to the trail a number of times so is it okay to ask you something.

Question: Do you know where the red bridge is or was and can you describe where the location is?

If you know of it, of course.

Was the entire video played for the jury? Was BG’s voice determined to be RA’s?
Yes, the entire video was eventually played. And some reporters in court said that BG's voice matched RA's voice in his audio confession. One of the witnesses testified they sounded exactly the same to them.

Ain't a person on planet earth that'll convince me this guy made confessions because he was crazy....no way, no how. This guy made confessions, and was crazy, because he killed two young ladies in a brutal, violent, up close and personal, slashing of their throats. The demons inside him ate away at his conscience to the point it near drove him mad.

I think the Prosecution did get a three run Homerun though, with the audio tapes of his confessions to his mother and his wife.

I believe the jurors heard him in his own words, in his own voice, under no duress, speaking to the 2 people he loves the most, and sincerely confessing his worst sins. He bared his soul to them.

I absolutely believe RA’s confessions are real.

I think the context is extremely important.

For one thing, if after reading the Bible and coming to believe in Jesus, he may have felt that while he thought he’d gotten away with it for those five years, he suddenly believed that of course God knew what he’d done.

So now he needed to cleanse his conscience in some way. God knew what he’d done, the Bible says to confess your sins, and he HAD to find out if KA and his mother would forgive him and love him if they knew who he really was.

He clearly loves his wife and mother and it’s urgent to him that he was granted absolution by them. He appeared very lucid in these conversations. He was as clear as could be and was trying to let them know the truth.

KA and his mother said they loved him but absolutely refused to hear that he was in fact guilty.

IMO, their resistance to letting him detail his confession caused him to shut that down, give up convincing them, and take the road they offered….stop confessing, don’t take a plea, and go to trial.

I’m sure he also loves his daughter but we’ve not heard from her at all. IMO that suggests she’d made up her mind about his guilt and therefore has not come to trial nor publicly defended him.

All JMO and speculation

I agree...there no physical evidence tying him to the crime scene, the gun evidence can be argued, the audio and video evidence is not conclusive, and the confessions are not full of any information that RA was not given in discovery...regardless of his mental state he was given the crime scene photos and details so he had the info of the killings...if he had confessed before he had the info I'd be more apt to believe the confessions...

IMO

Well said!

Waiting to see what else the Defense has planned for next week, however.

JMO MOO JMT

We don’t really know, do we?
I think we do know because of the video. No one else is on the video.

If there was someone else that was there and responsible for the crimes, why didn't the BG Guy call 911 and report the kidnapping?

And if there was someone else there that wanted to kidnap the girls, would they try that while BG was standing there too?

MOO No one is moving 200 lbs of dead weight that location.
At the three day hearings Cicero said his belief was that Libby was moved 7 to 8 feet from what he could decipher by the photographs. He did say there wasn't a scale there so he could only opine the distance.

Libby's left arm was in a stretched out position above her head. Someone could have dragged her a short distance using both of their hands to pull her left arm. Imo.

Also in the video of RA playing pool while his wife was recording in the months before the crime, he was physically fit and jumping all around.

Was a study done to determine the distance BG was from the girls when the video was taken? How long it takes for a person to walk the length of the bridge? A time stamp when the voice was recorded?
TIA

One of the members copied a timeline. I thought it was attached to page one on each thread but it’s not there. Anyone know? It was a handy reference.

This is a brief summary, BG obviously began to follow close behind Abby immediately after the snapchat photo. The voice was recorded @2:13pm.

I’m sorry to not be of more help. There’s a lot of information out there but in the format of text msgs, podcasts or youtube vid, all unsearchable by google.

I’d still draw the conclusion BG is guilty beyond any doubt, reasonable or even probable. BG/RA is not a child who got tricked or forced into kidnapping two teens to turn over to an anonymous person (AP) to slit their throats. Makes no sense, why would AP need BG to kidnap them, knowingly leaving BG as a witness when AP could’ve done it without leaving a witness.

I only might change my mind if RA testified and told what could be proven as the truth. It’s just that too many stories are being told on his behalf, far too many to be believable any more. JMO
I don’t think RA is going to take the stand - they didn’t even put him on the stand to verify that it was his voice in the audio part of the videos played for the jury today - so the audio could not be admitted as without his verification on the stand, it would otherwise apparently be heresay that it was his voice (if I understood that issue correctly, and I am not a lawyer, so if I am mistaken, pls let me know!). Moo.

Perhaps BG had help.

Did either side present a voice analysis expert to testify?
I think it was said that they need more than 3 words to use voice analysis.

This determination was just by people listening and thinking they sounded very much alike. If the jurors come to the same conclusion themselves, it could be bad for the D.

The jury listened for 2 hours to RA's voice. At the end, Mullins came up and replayed 'Guys, Down the Hill" for the jury to compare voices. Some of the reporters thought they sounded very similar. That might be just as persuasive as an expert in voice analysis, imo.
