Abby & Libby - The Delphi Murders - Richard Allen Arrested - #211

He said the prosecution needs to focus on the bullet evidence, and not get bogged down in all this confession stuff, as it's their best evidence.
That's what has worried me about the case. The confessions are damning...but they wouldn't have gotten the confessions if he wasn't in custody. The evidence that lead to his arrest needs to be convincing on it's own.

@LawyerLeeW

Richard Allen's attorney Brad Rozzi said he would like to ask Lt. Holeman: "If there were a big crime scene photo on Richard Allen's computer of human girls with sticks on them, would it be used as evidence against Richard Allen?" Two other suspects supposedly had Facebook posts like that. Neither was charged.#DelphiTrial #RichardAllen #JusticeForAbbyandLibby

Someone on here posted that Lawyer Lee was not into the odinism angle. I beg to differ.

Can somebody explain first parts of this statement to me?
Male DNA in a genital swab!!
Is she suggesting the girls may have had a penchant for sharing male underwear or that some males in their families wore theirs from time to time?
Quite astounding really. These girls were underage. There should have been no DNA anywhere near their genitalia.

Question: Be good to know if it was just Abby and her mother that lived together with nobody else.

But it kind of does seem peculiar.

I don't think it would pose a problem for me as a juror since it seems like an honest mistake.
Agreed. From my understanding, 3 teens with a 6 year old. The little one could easily get lost amongst 6 pairs of legs, particularly if the man was "walking with a purpose ". Eyewitness testimony is often hit & miss with certain details.

So, out of his confessions what is real and what isn't?!

To me, if he never messed with anyone (SA) - it could mean he didn't kill anyone either.

I don't feel these confessions hold weight on the details given, what the D's expert analysed and now witness testimony about SA never happening.

Forcing two innocent young girls to strip naked at the end of gun barrel is not SA????

Really???? jmo

Eh. An arrest only needs probable cause, which they had. Generally you want to have all of your ducks in a row before an arrest because the clock starts ticking on the right to a speedy trial, but ultimately probable cause is the threshold.

I’m not super concerned about confessions coming after arrest; that’s how it works a lot of the time.

Who is to say he wasn't already telling the truth in those initial 20-25 "I didn't do it!"admissions during those two interrogations, but especially October 26th, 2022.

He hadn't come to God yet and was in complete denial. Once arrested he soon realized the other shoe had dropped, he was caught and he wanted to make it right, to confess what he did and save his soul. He chose his family to confess to, his mom, his wife, over and over. When they stopped communicating with him, he turned to his doctor, who really seemed to care and want to help him. Sounds like logical thinking to me. AJMO

Was this the same man that stood in a press conference not too long after the murders that didn't connect BG as being Richard Allen, voice and all, even though that video was released by then.

JMO MOO JMT

The video wasn't released by then only a still photo of BG from Libby's video.

Btw, you can pause that video mulitple times and in each frame BG looks like a different man.

They had that in the Jon Benet case, IIRC, and it was said by Dr. Henry Lee to have most likely have been from a production worker in China DNA, where the underwear came from. If either of the girl's had on underwear right out of the package it could be something like that too. MO

Because he lied to them about what time he left, otherwise the group of girls would have seen Richard Allen at an earlier time and they did not.

For info, a study has been carried out on this subject and they really don't align with Bozinovski's claims!

Thank you for the elevation info. I have Fit on an Android and it counts steps but doesn't show them until I've walked for a minute.
Since a man's life is partly dependent upon Libby's app, I hope it was not inconsistent.

I have had every apple phone and they are not inconsistent. You walk and it tracks your steps as simple as that if it stopped tracking her it’s because she wasn’t moving. This is from my experience and never had any issues with it not counting steps. Moo

There was something about DNA smooshing about in the laundry, I think.

And didn't witness Murphy, whom I'm guessing was suppose to get put on the stand by the D for that, after being seen there earlier in the day, had already left anyway. Guess AB is just interested in getting it on the court record as many times as possible. MO

Edit, forgot link

Yes, for the record in case it got missed….

ONE MORE ATTEMPT AT ODINISM, THIRD PARTY THEORY: After the jury had left for the day, Baldwin made another run at an offer of proof to introduce evidence about a third-party theory that Abby and Libby were victims of a ritual killing done by people practicing Odinism/old Norse paganism. Judge Fran Gull has knocked down each of those attempts, ruling that the burden was on Allen’s attorneys “to show a nexus between Odinism, cult or ritualistic killing” or any of the names of the men attached to the third-party theory.

On Monday, Baldwin asked about a couple of possibilities. In one, he referenced testimony from a former ISP detective during a pretrial hearing, in which he said a suspect in the alleged Odinist plot had asked him after an interview in early 2018 whether, if traces of his spit were found on one of the girls but he could explain why, would he still be in trouble. Baldwin said he wanted to asked investigators whether that sort of spit evidence would have been used against Baldwin in trial. He asked the same about recreations of the crime scene posted on social media. Would that have been used against Allen at trial if found among his things?

“We’ve had this conversation a thousand times,” Gull told Baldwin. She said the defense needed to show a nexus between the crime and the Odinist plot.

“I believe there’s more than a nexus,” Baldwin said. He said he wasn’t sure what Gull’s definition of nexus was, though.

Either way, Baldwin said he wanted the question on the record “for the Court of Appeals.”

Perfectly logical. Dozens of conversations since when, spring/summer & you never once ask what the judge means when nexus is mentioned? That’s reaching pretty deep down into the realms of ridiculousness. Do these people even hear what they’re saying? Do they really think folks sitting in that courtroom are that ignorant? Pot calls kettle black for $1000, Ken.
