Yes they have @snarast, girl power activated. They each played an essential role in the arrest and conviction of him. (I don't even want to use his initials anymore).

The karma and irony of him being held at Westville right now is not lost on me.

JMO

We can add to the girlpower list with the teen girls on the trail, Betsy B, and Sarah C.
Just imagine how frightening it must have been to come forward with the information they had, knowing the killer was out there. As the years went by, hoping your name wouldn’t be found out. Some of the teens’ names did come out when they did interviews.
Their testimony was vital in constructing the timeline that kept RA glued to the Monon High Bridge. The defense was unable to make a dent in it and were never able to get RA off that bridge.

Now that the gag order is lifted, is there anything in particular you all would especially like to know?

For me, it's the keepsake box with the bullet that was confiscated during the search warrant. It was introduced at trial, but, I can't recall if they specifically stated that it was the same type of bullet found at the crime scene.

I want to know why it was so important. Or what law enforcement's theory of its importance. Was it a trophy?

Edit to clarify type of bullet, not same bullet.

things I hope to learn now that the gag order has been lifted:

I would like to see the video footage from the mono high bridge as it was presented to the jury.

I would like to see the video taped law enforcement interviews with the inmate.

I would like to hear from any jurors who wish to speak about their perspective and their deliberations, what was the convincer for them as a whole that the sizable amount of circumstantial evidence against the inmate was sufficient.

I would further like to know their opinions of the experts presented by both sides and why specifically they found some witnesses more credible than others.

I am curious if any explanation was ever found for the bullet in the keepsake box.

there are more but those are the top ones for me.

Hi Vman,

Regarding the bullets, they’d almost have to be 2 different rounds. The one at the CS was found & logged as evidence in 2017. The round found at the home was logged as evidence during the SW execution in 2022. However, if you’re meaning you don’t recall if it was the same brand, model & caliber, I do not specifically recall with certainty anything other than calibers matched. I do believe the brand was mentioned concerning the 2022 round & if my memory serves correctly it was a different brand but don’t take that as 100% confirmation. RA would have to speak to whether it was definitively a trophy or not & he’s not going to speak to anything other than his innocence until all appeal processes have been exhausted, unless he has a sudden change of heart.

My wishlist of questions answered - this considers RA having admitted guilt & speaking to events:
  • What other criminal activity RA committed that preceded the murders, if any (includes involvement in CSAM)
  • Anyone else involved at all to RAs knowledge, including only communication with girls
  • Detailed walkthrough of time at MHB from time girls passed him on bridge to time he arrived home (or confirmation of confession while at Westville)
  • Other than moving victims & attempts to hide them, what else was done at CS (no details on deaths just what he did to cover his involvement or confuse LE)
  • List of trophies/mementos, if any, kept & what happened to them if discarded prior to SW or where they reside if hidden
  • Why he went to LE in 2017 (truth, not our speculation)
  • Come clean about his phone from 2017 if he in fact lied
  • If no walkthrough, what route was taken from CS to car to home
  • When did RA first get worried he was a suspect; when did he have no doubt
  • Did you insert yourself into the development of funeral photos, if so why
  • Is KA aware of the truth & did she help him avoid scrutiny at any point (pipedream but it’s a wish)
  • Why avoid apologizing for so long, other than the obvious reason of self preservation
More questions may arise later.

I would like to know if RA has previously molested or assaulted anyone else. We may never know, as it may have happened, but went unreported, and someone may be afraid to come forward.

His daughter testified that he didn’t molest her. I hope for her sake that he did not, but I’m worried that he may have when she was too young to remember, or that she is in denial. Wouldn’t surprise me if she had been gaslit at some point by her mother.

Something like - ‘Mom, Dad has been touching me and it doesn’t feel right.’
KA: ‘No honey, he wouldn’t do that. You are imagining things. Stop saying that.’

ADMIN NOTE:

This post lands at random.

Discuss the case and not other members. AND, do not assign derogatory terms to those same members whose opinion are different than yours.

We haven't had time to go back and clean up/remove/edit out the various name calling and insults towards members who have a differing opinion regarding RA's guilt or sentencing.

You all know who you are.

If you can't post respectfully toward others and mind your manners at Websleuths, you'll need to go someplace where poor manners and insults are acceptable. Websleuths is not that place.

I want to know what happened the morning of the Feb 13th and what put RA on that bridge? Was it an argument with his family, a drunken freak out, did he know Abby and Libby might be there following them somehow on SM? Why???

Great question @Vaderman <I'm waiting on the NYE outfit lol>

I hope the jurors stay anonymous for their own safety and their families. There's too many crazies out there associated with this case, MO.

I'd liked to see the interviews with RA and the video taken at Cass County jail come out too.

All excellent questions. I also would like to know more about any previous crimes.

I want to know that, too.

I listened to the recent "Murder Sheet" episode and they brought up the video that the prosecution strongly wanted admitted and the defense strongly wanted blocked. They stated that the video showed RA snapping and behaving violently, making throat slitting motions, and then calmly settling down.

That makes me think the theory that someone on the trail made a comment to or about him that caused him to snap is realistic. He is a small, small man.

<Sadly, NYE is the one holiday I don't have Woodstock themed photos for>

When her head hits the pillow at night, she must know he’s guilty, right? With no distractions-just her and her conscience…I think so. IMO
Who knows what goes through anyone’s mind, particularly these folks, who are constantly around their chosen attorneys & their advocates like BM & EM. I’d like to hope she does but I believe she’s still in denial, especially with her new besties hanging around whispering things into her ear as they simultaneously reach into her pocketbook.

Yes, he is a small, small, evil man. Maybe we'll get the answers someday. I'm just glad he's gone. MOO

I don't know if you've had a chance to listen to TMS interviews with Holeman, but in Part 2 they asked him what that was about. Holeman said RA went from 0 to 100 screaming out during a break, banging his head, and making slicing motions to his throat. Then he calmed down fairly quickly.

Holeman also said he observed him writing sticky notes to his attorneys and then eating them. WTH? Does the little man have an appetite for pulp or what? Xylophagia is a condition involving the consumption of paper and a form of eating disorder known as pica.

She knows IMO, KA knows now and I think she has known at least since the first interview when he came onto LE's radar with Kathy Shanks, hero, finding his tip.

KA can't logically deny it any longer, there just isn't any way that I can see a woman who has been married to a man (child) all those years not realizing it after she heard the evidence in that initial interview and after sitting through the trial.

KA is denying all the facts (since many years, it seems), and he cared so very thoughtful of his wife and stressed, that she hadn't to do anything with it ..... I don't know, what to think of it exactly.
