no, I know that you do but my point is some laypersons, particularly victim family members, may not and because they are victims of the crime, judges IME tend to give them leeway in letting them direct their comments to the defendant.

Woohoo - It surely didn't take long. The max 130 years which is what I expected and hoped for. No family of RA was present.

The Judge gave RA a chance to speak after the impact statements and before sentencing which he declined. The D has already asked to appoint RA Public Defender(s) for his appeal.

Russell says many of the impact statements focused heavily on leaked crime scene photos that circulated the internet.

Libby German’s grandmother Becky Patty said these photos impacted them greatly. Patty said to the court, “What happens when Libby’s nieces and nephews, their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, want to learn about Libby and that’s what they were met with?”

Our @MaxLewisTV tells us 6 family members from Libby and Abby's families spoke during sentencing today. They talked about the lasting impact of the girl's murders. Each family member who spoke went after the defense team. One topic that came up was the carelessness of the crime scene pictures being released including the bodies of the girls.

Judge Fran Gull also went after Richard Allen saying, "You sit there and roll your eyes at me like you have done through this entire trial."

Richard Allen said he would like a public defender while he moves to the next phase when he appeals the decision.

In about 30 minutes state police, prosecutors and family will be speaking.

I am glad the friends and family got the opportunity to speak their minds and hearts. Richard Allen needed to hear what he did to them, what he stole, and they needed that chance to tell him.

They were upset about the release of crime scene photos that stemmed from an evidence leak in 2023. The photos forced them to relive their nightmare over and over, they told the court.

RA always a weak coward rightfully convicted of the murder of two innocent children. It's horrifying to think of Abby's and Libby's last moments with the evil monster, Richard "Ricky" Allen. I cant begin to fathom how Abby's and Libby's loved ones make it day by day. Their strength and courage is impressive and I admire each one of them.

Ricky will never win.
