Abby & Libby - The Delphi Murders - Richard Allen Arrested - #201

Not intending to continue the bullet debate but posting this link which I found earlier for anyone who joined this case recently. RA denied knowing RL nor having been where the bullet was found.

‘According to the affidavit, Allen said he'd never been where the bullet was found, did not know the property owner, and "had no explanation as to why a round cycled through his firearm would be at that location."

How is this "plea" going to get him out of prison?? You don't make a statement like this and think you get to go home afterwards.

The other two BBM achieved what he may just have wanted, to be seen as sad and weak.
Definitely wasn’t saying it would get him out - I just wondered if in his mind it thought it would get him the interview and maybe a chance? I have no idea. It’s just strange to me.

This.

Something so horrible in the quickness of it, and the response from A.

Saddest thing I've read thus far in connection with this case. And that's a long list.
Seeing that she said “hi” like that broke my heart.
I’m their age (22 now, as they should be), and every time I think about this case and what the girls should be doing now I get teared up.
If RA is their guy, I hope justice is served.

Voorhies said she got to her friend's house at 2:20 p.m., five minutes after she saw the "bridge guy."

How could the person RV saw be bridge guy if she saw him at 2:15? According to Libby's video time stamp (2:13) he should of been down the hill by then. Am I missing something?
Also, RV's description of the man she saw does not match RA's appearance at all!
I was wondering the same things.

I don't dispute the wounds were caused by a sharp object or blade.

What I don't know, even though some are stating it is a fact, is if multiple blades were used. the state has never indicated that multiple blades were used. That appears to be a construct of the defense who stated that two blades were used in these murders during their opening statements.

I know that some put more stock in the words of the defense team than others. But until I hear that someone has said two blades were used under oath, I don't consider it a fact. JMO
I think the boxcutter came from RA's confessions and people ran with it. MOO

It looks like the document was edited 3 times. The first time, he wrote "I am ready to officially confess". The second edit is adding "for killing Abby and Libby". The third edit appears to be "I hope I get the opportunity to the families I'm sorry."

He was probably told that he had to specify what he wanted to confess to, and then was asked whether there was anything else he wanted to add.

Why do I think this? Because the word "for" is in the wrong place, and his signature blocks him from adding the girls names on the lined space. OMO

BAM!!!!!
I knew it I knew it!!!! I said that earlier!

1. Why is Abby listed first?
2. There was room before he put his name there for Libby to be listed.
3. It looks like Libby was added after he wrote his name.
4. Killing is capitalized.
5. Confess is capitalized.
6. The word "for" is out of place.
Weird...
Now I want to know why Abby is listed first and Libby is only an after thought added later.

Another member (sorry I forgot who it was) said he wrote Abby becaus she is the one he feels remorseful about. Libby was added under and later (moo) because he sees her like she is an appended thought.

So RA just confessed in writing then?

I get that nothing matters in this case - but by any standard, that alone seems a fairly massive problem for the defence
I have heard some things, but, frankly, it's been 7 years of non-stop speculation, I am more than ready to hear the full and complete facts, so am choosing not to share.

Sorry!

JMO

Why did the suspect drag Libby 7-8 feet across the crime scene when she was dying, bleeding out, nearly decapitated? Abby had her neck cut and she died on the spot, not so with Libby. Why was she dragged, bleeding on trees and leaves? What was the suspect thinking?
Will we ever know what he was thinking ?

I'll wait until we hear from the witnesses until I believe that is a fact nobody positively ID'd him. I can see that BG=RA=Killer.

I've studied that video at least 100 times and many pictures of RA pre murders and post arrest. It is the same body frame: longer torso, short legs, hands in pockets, baggy pants (light jeans on the video) that break and roll in the same spot no matter what pants RA is wearing be it jeans, sweats, or prison jumpsuit.

JMO
The 'break and roll' on the jeans is what did it for me. My husband is about the same stature as RA (height and weight) and the same thing happens with his jeans. Its tough for shorter men to get pants that fit properly in the leg, then tend to bunch up.

Isn't RA the only adult male we know of being at the trail that day? He knew he was wearing all his disguise so he wasn't worried about saying he was there. Nobody could ID him. He also gave the interview to DD before the video was publicized. So he didn't know the video existed when he did the interview with DD.

Witnesses saw an adult male. An adult male is captured on Libby's video. RA says he was at the trail at that time.

Eyewitness testimony and identification is notoriously unreliable.

Think about walking past a stranger on the sidewalk. Later you find out a murder happened and you realize maybe you saw the guy. Now try hard to describe that person. It would be difficult to recall an accurate description especially when you had no idea you should remember this specific person because they might commit a crime.

Same. It's all so awful but this hit me hard, too.

The last willful thing she did was say hi, try to be polite, extend a courtesy, a kindness.

And the last thing he did was murder her and her best friend. Brutally.

Makes it all the more evil to me.

JMO

I agree with your thoughts. I just thought maybe he was trying to cover/hide them, but got interrupted or something.

Another thought, a 14-15 foot tree limb would be too heavy for one guy to lift and move by himself, of course depending how thick the tree limb was.
BBM
This has crossed my mind too. He may well have covered them with more but heard someone calling out their names or heard something in the leaves and it worried him so he took off.

Oh, same, it’s heartbreaking.

Especially the “timidly.”

Just the notion that she apparently was nervous about his presence and tried to ward it off with a meek “hi.”

I need to have this vicious killer locked up forever. To me that’s RA.

It’s just strange to me.
JMO, but that is because the media person released one tiny bit of info he found from months ago. The prosecution haven't introduced the evidence of the confessions.

There will be a lot more information. Why sweat over trying to put together a jigsaw puzzle now, when we will soon have the whole picture from the lid of the box?

JMO

One of the most notable exhibits is a letter to Indiana Department of Correction Warden John Galipeau from Richard Allen, dated March 5, 2023, requesting an interview for the warden.

"I am ready to officially confess for killing Abby and Libby. I hope I get the opportunities to tell the families I'm sorry," according to a letter allegedly signed by Allen.
