I hope arguing this defense motion doesn't delay us too long from hearing about he bullet and most importantly to me, all those confessions. I am most curious to know exactly what RA said/and or wrote in those confessions.

And before anyone offers me a helpful reminder that RA confessed to killing people not dead, I do not consider those confessions of murder but expressions of guilt for what he has done to his friends and family by committing the murders.

Simply my own thoughts. Others are welcome to disagree and scroll right on past.

Ok- since he was at the end closest to his car, and he says he didn’t see the two girls- is there time enough for RA to leave the bridge, girls start to cross the bridge and then BG comes up behind them?

I’m not suggesting that’s what happened- I’m just trying to think through the timeline and logistics and if there’s a remote logical possibility of RA not being BG given what we know now as presented in court-

Just thinking out loud -it’s a very tight timeline
moo

This might help. Where it says Monon High Bridge Trail on this map is where the Freedom Bridge is. As you can see it is quite aways away from the Monon High Bridge.

I can’t wait for those confessions too….wonder how they will be presented.

JMO but I have always thought that his nonsensical confessions started after his real ones to his family, etc. and he started putting on the crazy act eating paper etc. to try to get out of it.

The theory would play perfect after what we have seen from the prosecution so far, 4 eyewitness accounts of people who were clear as day not describing Richard Allen.
JMO

But what do their descriptions matter when there is photographic evidence of a man that they all agree is the man they saw that day?

Defense will say, " Look at that confession. He didn't even say that one of the victims had been redressed with the others clothing! therefore RA is innocent!!!"

Sorry, I have a very poor opinion of the defense after what they did the first time they were representing him. I am biased against them I guess

Does anyone see the link for thread #201?? I'm trying to catch up and it seems to end at #200!
Several of us were discussing guns and got off topic on wild hogs. The segue contained a lot of incorrect information. The thread was deleted. Rightfully so.

Me too! But likely not for the same reason.

The first morning update is on WISHTV

The state’s first witness Wednesday morning was 35-year-old Sarah Carbaugh, a lifelong Delphi resident who lived near the trail. She told the jury she visited the trail every day with her dogs.

Exactly. In the episode of Murder sheet, they said the witnesses said something "look, I did my best to recall the man who passed me and I only saw him for a moment, so it is possible that mine/our description of the guy are off" but all of them said the guy they saw was without a doubt the man on the video (BG).

It’s nonsensical and defies logic.
They will lose the jury with this stuff.
Defense can’t seem to get out of their own way.

jmo
This jury is not being fooled. The questions they have asked show that much. Like yesterday one question the jury had for Betsy Blair.

Q: You said the man you saw had poofy hair, is it possible what you thought was his hair was some kind of a hat.

She said yes.

Wow, not sure what to make of this testimony.

She "saw a group of people at the Mears entrance, including a man covered in mud and blood and a girl wearing pink who appeared visibly stressed. She said she drove past the man, who did not acknowledge her, but says she later recognized him as “Bridge Guy.” She waited three weeks to report who she saw to police, saying she was afraid."

Who was the girl in pink?

She also says that "the Bridge Guy’s jacket was dark enough to where she wouldn’t have seen blood on it, and but his jeans were light enough to show the mud on them. The jury finished by asking how close she was to Bridge Guy when she saw him at the Mears entrance, to which she answered he was within three feet of the passenger side."

This is excellent and should be pinned. Very thorough and easy to track

It also shows just how eye witness testimony can also be unreliable. Look at all the different descriptions of the car. Because they saw it in a split second.

This timeline also seems to confirm there were no other males on the bridge/trail at that time? Other than Bridge Guy and Richard Allen confirmed he hadn't seen another male on the bridge?

Agree that this should be pinned -- esp as further trial testimony is likely to turn on one or another of these key timeline events.

Many thanks for the time taken to write up so clearly and repost, OP.

She sounds something between unresponsive and defensive. Not the best witness, from that report.

The Indystar update and wishtv update from this morning don’t appear that similar to me?? Gets so confusing. As always, wish we could hear it for ourselves!

To me she sounds concerned for her own safety and while willing to share the bit she has, wants nothing else to do with the case. Based on the way Wishtv wrote it up.

"Sarah Carbaugh testified that she decided to drive on County Road 300 North, by the Monon High Bridge trail entrance, on the afternoon of Feb. 13, 2017. It was a beautiful day and she was off work, she said, so she decided to scope out how many people were using the trail.

At around 4 p.m., Carbaugh said she saw a group of people at the train entrance looking stressed out."

If I am readind it right, I think the "group of people looking stressed out" are probably the families of the girls looking for them. Or no? I am confused.

If she’s been following the case closely, I would be too! JMHO
