I know my current phone does ask me if I want to enter low power mode. But I had an iPhone 6s and I do not recall if it did this. I also remember the battery on it was so bad I took it to Apple on Apple care to be replaced. It was still terrible even with a. Ew battery. Infact, there’s a class action over the battery issues of this (and other) Apple devices that you can learn more about here:

I JUST retired my iPhone6s and yes it did go into low power mode on its own. And it could limp itself along on 1% battery for what felt like hours. I still got the dang thing, I could do some experimenting with it.

This is different testimony than what I have read. Will wait until media pool notes to speak on this further.
Ok that makes more sense to me, 3 out of 3 sources I have seen do say the phone stopped connecting, not that it powered off.

Sorry, I spent the best 10 years of my life explaining to people why their phones and/or sites were breaking, I might be hyperfixated on the subject.

It is absolutely horrendous and very distressing to read the details of the injuries Abby and Liberty suffered. I knew the details of the crime scene and their severe injuries were going to be horrific and very hard to read, but it is still extremely shocking. I’m heartbroken for Abby and Libby’s loved ones and feel tremendous sympathy for them and for the jurors who also had to see the images of them deceased after being brutally murdered. No human being should have to see this. They are all in my thoughts and prayers and I hope they have the support they need.

Thank you to all of you for posting updates about what is happening when the court is in session each day. It really is very much appreciated. I’m grateful to be part of a group of great people who care so much that Abby and Liberty and their loved ones get justice.

Pt.2: We also learned they seized 23 devices from Richard Allen. They reviewed all of them & there was nothing on them that connected him to Abby, Libby, or their murders. However, the phone he had in 2017 was not part of those devices and they could not locate that phone.

Why does he have so many devices??

Asking people to believe the phone powered itself off at 10:30 pm and then powered itself back on at 4:30 am with no human interference is similar to asking people to toss logic out of the window and believe in a fairy tale.

MOO

I just read an article where the 10:32 pm power off of phone conclusion was "premature." They did so many dumps of Libby's phone things kept changing. Just like the murder weapon. sigh. JMO

Cecil stated he no longer believes the phone died at 10:32 p.m. and called his previous conclusion “premature.” Additional information led Cecil to believe the phone stayed on until 4:34 a.m. when it received the numerous text messages.

I’d be more upset over this missing device if the state could show his Pc / a tablet could tie him to the kids / the crime but so far, we don’t have this. We don’t even have his dna on the kids / at the scene….
Mmoo

Criminals are DNA savvy, and were in 2017.
They were using drop boxes, burners, and shaving thenselves before assaults.

I think it’s obvious that law enforcement didn’t release that cell phone since they were doing tests on it in October of 2017 and later, so the next 2 obvious questions is 1) who took that photograph. 2) what devices were also connected to Libby’s iCloud?

JMO
Q: if the device was connected to the cloud that took a photo of the funeral (or anything after the kids were murdered and the police had found the phone) - how would it get from the cloud onto the device found under the body of AW?

I understand that I can save things on my cell and they’ll appear in the cloud. Would they also magically appear on my cell phone if I had taken a photo with my iPad?

Anyone happen to know?

<modsnip: Quoted post was removed>

I had an iPhone 6s and aside a super lousy battery it never once went dead and then powered back on hours later without me pressing a button (and attaching it to a charger). I’ve never had any device do this.
I’ve been with iPhone since iPhone 3 all the way up to now. Never had any do this. Mooo.

I assume they wanted a photo from the phone FOR the funeral service, like for framed pictures or posters or service flyers, not that they took the phone TO the funeral.

I thought it was with this story from August 2017 that I read yesterday but I'll keep looking. Here, MSM reports more was recorded and shared with the family by LE than what we learned released in the 43 second video/audio:

DELPHI, Ind. (WTHR) - State police say more audio from Libby German's cell phone was played for the victims' families, including a mention of a man they noticed behind them.
Police say the girls mostly talk about "stuff girls talk about" in the recording, but they also mention the man. The only audio that has been released to the public from the phone is that of a man's voice ordering German and her friend, Abby Williams, "down the hill."

That’s interesting, I forgot about the girl talk. It was the 43 second video that was played for the jury.

However nothing was mentioned about the possibility Libby and Abby recorded some audio on Voice Memos, a pre installed app on iphones. Maybe…

MOO but I think the 43 seconds is all that was recorded, police used the phrase "stuff girls talk about" to be intentionally vague about the full contents of the video

I have no idea what you mean.
I’m afraid I don’t know how to simply this any further except to say: the doc provided up thread has inmate numbers listed. Those numbers identify which inmates are being requested for transport by the D. I’m sorry I can’t make this any more clear. Someone else may be better able to simply this.

Why does he have so many devices??

If he is anything like my husband he likes to save them all. He complains if I want to wipe and sell his old device. I hate clutter! JMO

I have no idea how long it should take to dump a phone etc but I would wonder about dna and chain of custody etc. I’m really curious about if the police did release it to the fam and then have to get it back for more tests or what? Still not quite opinion so much as actual question.
I meant that anything on the phone, the camera roll etc, could be given to the family in DIGITAL form by whoever extracted the phone.

I can understand why they'd want her photos, she was an amateur photographer of some skill.
