Important parts/opinions on that Wish article.

Mullin brings up February 2017. Allen says he was at his mom’s in Peru while his wife was working and left there at 11:15 a.m. He said he went home and got a jacket, even though it was warm out.

Allen said he walked down to the high bridge, went out a little bit on a platform and watched the fish. Allen says then he left. He says he parked either on the bridge side or near a smaller bridge. Liggett shows him a map of the area, Mullin explains where things are on the map.

-Allen says he didn’t go out “all that often,” but that it varied and that he had “gone out a time or two” in the winter months. Familiarity with area.

-Allen says he told Dulin he saw three girls, he thought one was babysitting two of the girls and he thought they all looked alike. Biggest witness sighting in my mind as both parties corroborate it (minus 1 girl in Allen's account).

News 8’s Kyla Russell reports at this point in the courtroom, Richard Allen is shaking his head.

Liggett asked how and where he walked to get on the bridge. Allen doesn’t give a clear answer. Allen explains he had a red ford car before he got the “black car.” Vague. Extraneous.

Mullin again asks about him seeing three girls, Allen says he did not see anyone else while on the trails and he was walking towards the girls. “I don’t really remember seeing anyone that day. If I did, they didn’t stand out to me.”
From that link:

“News 8’s Kyla Russel says at this point in the courtroom [RA in the video gets up and leaves the interview], there is laughter.”

Makes me hope the D’s flailing isn’t working with a lot of people.

Any info yet on whether or not anyone who’s in the courtroom and heard any portion of the interview of RA have noted any similarities between his voice and the supposed voice of BG on the girls’ cell phone video?

Now that we know about Richard Allen coming close to shooting himself I believe the bullet in the keepsake box can be explained.

Many times when people come close to committing suicide they will think of that bullet as what shapes the trajectory of their life, that could have been what ended it, but it wasn’t! Having that bullet in a keepsake box with a letter from his mom could have been his way of reminding himself daily that life is worth living and a way to work through his depression.

For anyone that wants to read the facts of the timeline for the girls walking and why it's proven the exact times they were in certain places.

She was there with her friend Breann Wilber who happened to take photos that day. She has a photo time stamped 1:26 of them sitting on a bench along the trail. This was taken just before they ran into the man they saw on the trail. She also was friends with Libby on Snapchat. Libby saw the picture she posted of the MHB and messaged her to ask if they were still there and she said they left 10 minutes prior to that message. So despite one of the girls not knowing the exact time she passed by this man, someone in her group has digital evidence to show what time it would have been.

What part of the defense do you believe is flailing if you don’t mind me asking?

No additional context matters, is what I’ve been hearing. He said a thing. That thing must stand regardless of additional facts…

Right?

That’s the opposite of what I am saying.

For this to be proof of what time they passed by the man you would have to know the speed at which they were traveling at. JMO

And what caused him to mention that he was planning to shoot himself? What question triggered that response?
Because IMO it has worked many times before to shift attention/distract away from his misdeeds.

RA has to prove it was not him on the bridge at the time that is consistent with all the witness statements and a video that is also consistent with his admitted outfit and his appearance. He can do this by either showing he was definitely elsewhere, or there at a time that excludes him as the murderer.

What do the cellphone pings say?

All of it. For me, it’s all straw-grasping, arm waving, obfuscating, distracting, lawyerly BS. Nothing rings true for me. Nothing.

They told him they talked to his wife and daughter and learned about his mental health struggles, that’s when he says that.

This is incorrect, the defendant doesn’t have to prove anything. The burden of proof of guilt lies squarely on the prosecution.

Interesting thought. while I don't think this conclusively explains the bullet in the box, I am willing to consider that as a possible reason.

If the defense sits back and says nothing, RA is in for a bad time.

If RA is going to be judged as guilty regardless of the decision of the jury I really struggle as to what the point of the trial is at all for some.

IMO——

We are irrelevant. We are just people discussing what we believe about RA’s guilt or innocence. On a discussion site created for this purpose.

The trial is for the state, not us.

Personally I’m prepared to accept the jury’s verdict, whatever it may be. I believe RA is guilty but my opinion is for here, as I am not privy to the evidence which the jury members are receiving in person.

Just my thoughts.

I wonder why the laughter?
I suspect it is simply that hearing a man curse at LE while in a courtroom setting which is very formal and everyone on their best behavior (no cursing - gasp) was startling and offered a bit of levity and a moment to relax and feel less "starched" to the onlookers.

WISH TV is reporting that at the end of the interrogation video:

Allen says “arrest me or take me home, I’m done, you’re not going to find anything that connects me to the murders. you’ve lost my trust, now you’ve pissed me off, you’re an (expletive).

In the video, Allen gets up and leaves. News 8’s Kyla Russel says at this point in the courtroom, there is laughter.

My thought...Interesting reaction in the courtroom.

I thought was really weird

I want to watch these interrogation videos so bad.

In my opinion the way richard Allen cones across is not that of a guilty man, but it is hard to tell without seeing body language.

You usually don’t have suspects cursing out cops for implicating them in homicides if they are guilty.

He doesn't have to prove anything. That onus is on the state.

Another report from this morning…

Mullin then asked to see Allen’s phone. He asked how long they would need it and said they used Ting for cellphone service. He didn’t think he still had his phone from 2017 and said he believed his wife recycled it.
…..

Allen was then asked if he is “Bridge Guy.”

“I’ve never met them [the girls],” Allen said.

He then revealed that he was “going to shoot” himself that night.

“It’s not like I killed two girls and now I’ve got psychological problems,” he said.
