Even Kerri Rawson said she loved her dad BTK, knowing what he’d done. She was honest and genuine, despite hating what he had done.

<modsnip> What relevance does this have to a completely different family unit.

Families are complex. A lot of adult children don't speak to their parents for whatever reason, and likely don't love them. Doesn't mean the parent murdered anybody. IMO.

Judge. Oath. Bias?
Thank you for that helpful information. My “confidence” is waning.
W a quick search re IN-specific "oath of office" for judges, here is IN. statute:

ETA: I've deleted most of post. On further review, imo quote, and the statute cited, & the link do not apply. My apologies.

I find it curious that such a fragile man, having a history of psychotic episodes, being delusional, irrational, dependent, etc. remains incarcerated, is attending a trial for a couple weeks now, and we see no reports indicating any serious behavioral or mental health issues arising from the stressors I would imagine are fairly acute, said stressors resulting from a trial where one's freedom, and in a way, one's entire life, is on the line.

To me, it's quite astonishing, for RA to be capable of sitting through the testimony, day after day, and in particular, the graphic videos, of the murders, the murder scene, his behavior while incarcerated, I mean....is this man made of steel, or is he heavily sedated?

Would this not trigger some sort of reaction in a man so diagnosed? It's unbelievable to me how stable he suddenly appears to be, or at minimum, how there is such a lack of reporting that he's gone off the deep edge again as a result of all this....it's mindboggling.

My opinion.

That's true, but a lot of people aren't on the stand while their father is being accused of a double child murder.

Sure. families are complex. BZ chose today to state she doesn’t love her father. It’s relevant, or the attorney would not have asked.
For some reason she said she didn’t love her father, who is accused of murder. It’s notable IMO.

It wasn't quite in order though because of the bullet on the bridge part.

Wonder if they sent someone out to check beneath the bridge with a metal detector just to make sure.

JMO MOO JMT
Even if they had though - in 2022? No one could really say with certainty that a bullet there came from Feb 13/2017 could they? I mean how would they prove it?

Just wondering, why would the Defense risk their careers by lying to the court? They know he said things - they've heard the recordings that were available. If they asked RA and he said he said these things, they can't say he didn't say them - that would be lying to the court. I think they're doing the right thing by showing how the statements were were affected by his living conditions/treatment/medications/isolation etc... MOOO.
I don’t think I’ve suggested they would lie to the court. I was responding to a post implying Wala fabricated testimony to help the state’s case.

Baldwin handed him a transcript from an FBI interview Weber did in Feb. 2017. Weber tells the jury he went on a three-day trip to Arizona and got back the Sunday before the girls died.

Baldwin asks him about his ATM machine business. Weber says he makes money off them through surcharges, he doesn’t know how many he had in 2017. He says he had 30 at one point and has 15 now.

Weber tells the jury he attended to his ATM machines daily, says he checks how much money they have and gets money from the bank. He says he doesn’t know what bank he used in 2017, he thinks it was Regions Bank.

Weber says his ATMs are at gas stations, taverns, restaurants, etc. He said he used a black Subaru to drive to service his ATMs. He says he uses Regions Bank now, but not always the same branch. He says on the day of the murders he went straight home from his other job at the Subaru plant.

He says “only time I used my van was when I was pulling a trailer.”

I think when the prosecution called BW in their case in chief, BW said that he dropped off a trailer after work and before heading home. But he seems to contradict that here. Did anyone ask BW where he dropped off the trailer or how much time that added to his drive home?

I’d also like to hear from the FBI agent who interviewed him because the defense seems very confident that BE told the FBI he stopped to service ATMs before driving home.

Can someone verify this statement for me? I thought, during the trial, Richard Allen stated he THOUGHT he molested his sister and daughter. Did I dream this? or did he say this? Thanks to all!

I can't remember but found this - not sure if it is an approved source

"Miller testified how Allen said he molested his sister and may even touched his daughter."

He also said something about a Kevin and a Chris.

Does the defense realize how this looks?

Suddenly Wala's notes are accurately what RA said but the statements he made are flawed only because he was in a state of psychosis?

If Wala noted accurately what RA stated, then RA did state what he stated about seeing Weber's white van after kidnapping the girls', so now it's on the defense to PROVE how he knew this.

Me too as she didn’t choose this life and sounds like she got out as soon as she was able to.

IMO
Interesting to note that the incident where the police were called to the house was in 2015 and she testified she moved out in 2015. Not sure when on timing of these events, but one could definately lead to the other. He could have been spiraling and she was ready to get out of there or she was getting out of there and it caused him to spiral.

It is very difficult to grow up in a house with a parent like RA. Just based on what has came out in court, I can see a picture of the environment this was. An alcoholic that threatens to harm themselves is manipulative and addicts of any kind usually get good at getting what they want from those that love them the most. They take that love and use it to manipulate those that they are supposed to love the most. I grew up in an environment like this and I've been out for nearly 30 years and I still can be triggered by certain things. I feel for her and even when it's not intentional, a parent can seriously damage their children when they are addicts of any kind. It can take years and years to undo damage that is done and sometimes it can't be undone at all. :( when an addiction is basically self medicating for something else, it can get really bad. I don't know if this is exactly what was going on in that house, but I know addicts and it's never easy or pretty.

The more I think about it the more I do wonder if her moving out was a trigger. Not that I am suggesting it's her fault in any way, but for him this was something he no longer had control over and what did that do to him?

IMO

"Miller went on to say Allen said on April 9, 2023, at 6:56 a.m., " I only killed them to give my family more time to be free." Then at 7:58 a.m. Allen said, " I'm sorry I killed those kids... I may have touched my daughter, I can't remember."

Really great juror question at the end of this testimony

Baldwin asked if there were and Reddit sites or Instagram posts about a white van. Baldwin said Dr. Wala said she frequently checked online sites and there were dozens of sites that mention a white van.

Baldwin asked if Mullin knew what Wala said or told Allen about a van.

Mullin said no.

Prosecutor Nick McLeland started cross examination. McLeland asked Mullin if Allen's admission to Wala was the first time the state heard about a van.

Mullin said yes.

A juror asked why anyone would discuss the van prior to Allen's confession that a van scared him. Mullin said the confession was why the state looked into it.

Ok, I re-read what you wrote - initially I thought you were saying that the D had not said he did not make the statements. That is what I get for scanning too fast. Ty for clarifying.

This is SO important.

and to say it in court, on the record, with him staring at you. Yeah, I think that is a big deal. And yes, I can see how the defense might play it that way, she doesn't even love him so no reason to lie.

I don't think she was lying about molestation. But if she said she didn't love him, as a juror, that would stand out and make me question why that was her answer. Just because he didn't molest her doesn't mean she doesn't believe he is guilty of this crime, I might think. JMO
That’s why I don’t get the question about love. Why not just ask ‘would you lie for your father?’ What’s love got to do with it? She wouldn’t perjure herself, emotions aside.

Zapanta told the jury she moved out in 2015 for a job. In 2018, one year after the murders KA posted a photo of BZ to her Facebook page that featured BZ posed on the Monon High Bridge. When was the photo taken? I doubt in 2018 because by then BZ was already living on her own for approximately 3 years. I really want to know if that photo was taken by RA and WHEN.

The photo of Allen's daughter, 28-year-old Brittany, was posted to Facebook by his wife Kathy, 50, in 2018 - just over a year after the girls disappeared in February, 2017
