They wanted to be legal rock stars and now they're just the lawyers who can't spell, keep evidence safe and confidential and have bouts of anger and insult jurors. Yep and there's more but I'm feeling happy and thrilled right now and they're a buzzkill subject

Don’t want to even think about it. He disgusts me as a man & human being. Every single thing he did was purposeful. He wasn’t there just to appease his twisted deviant sexual perversions. He went there to hunt down at least one of those girls, have his way & fully intended to silence them forever. The van just delayed & relocated it all. Libby, somehow by the grace of God, put the first nail in his coffin. Ricky better strap that bible over his rear end - that’s about all the good it’s going to do him now.

Being a dad of two grown boys, I cannot fathom what the men in the immediate families are feeling, finally knowing the killer of their baby girls is convicted. The face behind it all. It would take all of my power, self control & restraint to not put hands on that….thing.

I hope the entirety of both families are finally able to find some sense of relief & peace & move forward, if possible, starting today. Should they choose to forgive, that’s completely up to them as they’ve more than earned that choice. Should they not, well, so be it - they’ve earned that as well.
He won't make it long if he is in the general public. Child killers

If I was her I'd keep my head down for a while.
Gushing over his defense team and rolling her eyes whenever the prosecution said anything.
And to top it off, protesting over the treatment of poor little Richard Allen who just 'loved his family' and also happened to be a double child murderer.

Woman made my teeth itch!

They're probably all talking about the inevitable appeal, putting their hopes on winning then. Good luck. Its not going to happen, JMO

Guilty Guilty guilty GUILTYYYYY!!! I have never been so sure of something while being so confused at the logic spinning in any case i have ever followed. And that's a lot of cases! I am relieved today that the jury got it right. I am relieved no one can say "he's innocent until proven guilty". I am relieved this chapter is done. I am heartbroken that these 2 girls will forever be 13/14. I am devastated for the fear and pain they experienced at the hands of this monster. May he never see the light of day again!!! Soon he will be wishing for that solo cell with a TV and a tablet that everyone called "barbaric". I have a feeling those sweet convicts he will be living with soon will be scarier than a room with a TV.

It took less than 2 minutes for the verdict to play out for all four counts to be read out as guilty.

The judge asked the defense team if they wanted to poll the jurors and they did so each juror said that was their verdict.

Richard Allen sat emotionless during the verdict as it was read. The defense counsel had their arm around him (Baldwin).

The families of Abby and Libby were overcome with emotion. BP was clutching MP's arm when the verdict came in. Doug Carter put his head down into his hands and began to cry.

The judge thanked attorneys on both sides.

RA was led away in handcuffs. Once he was out of the room, then reporters really saw emotion. Doug Carter reached back and held onto BP's hand. Even reporters were emotional at this point.

During the sentencing portion of the verdict, RA turned around and looked at KA and said "Are you okay?" KA was crying, RA's mother was crying.

As the courtroom cleared out, Jerry Holeman hugged the prosecution team and kissed NMc.
Doug Carter was in the court room when verdict was read ??

He said he would see this to the end.

Such a bittersweet day. I came here my first time for this case as the girls went missing. It's unbelievable how much time has passed and yet stood still through the investigation. To all the family and friends I wish you all the best life has to offer. May your healing begin.

@davebangert

From inside the courtroom, Richard Allen had little visible reaction to the verdict.

Families of Abby and Libby hugged and all thumbs up as they left the courthouse.

Allen’s family, defense team left without comment as they made their way across Washington Street.

although... WTHR reported:

@WTHRcom

Kathy Allen, Richard Allen's wife, said, "this isn't over at all" as she walked out of the Carroll County Courthouse following the jury's guilty verdict in the Delphi murders trial.

I still have some trouble with this verdict, but I admit I’m probably biased towards my own perception. I can see how the jury came to a guilty verdict, but I wonder if it might come out differently if the defense had been allowed evidence of third party suspects.

I still do not feel convinced that he is guilty or that he is innocent.

While MOO I wavered back and forth over the last two years, I never became fully convinced of RA’s guilt - however I respect the process that found him Guilty. I assume that process will continue through another stage. The jurors had quite a challenge and based on what we heard, did an admirable job IMO.

I’m not particularly fond of the celebratory theme of some of the posts I’ve read here in the last 90 minutes. To me it’s kind of a sad day all around since closure seems elusive. Am not at all sure the evidence was slam-dunk convincing enough that the German/Williams families will experience true healing, but perhaps they will - I hope so. It’s easy to get sidetracked into the personalities of the other players, be it LE, the Judge, attorneys, etc…I understand some here IMO wanted foremost for BR/AB to lose which by some measurements they did, but I personally don’t see that cause for happiness..

Again the overriding theme should IMO be that this chapter of the process is complete, the results are accepted, and all should be commended for performing their roles hopefully to the best they could.

I understand what you are saying. I don’t want to speak on behalf of how other members here are feeling, but I’m not celebrating because I know this guilty verdict won’t bring Abby and Liberty back to their loved ones. What has happened to them is an unbearable tragedy that no family should ever have to face. I’m acutely aware that their families and friends are going to be heartbroken and devastated by what happened to them, and they will miss them every day for the rest of their lives.

Many of us feared the case was cold, and an arrest would not be made like the murders of Elizabeth Collins and Lyric Cook in 2012. We were also concerned about the trial ending up being a mistrial, a hung jury or him being found not guilty. I think a lot of us are just very relieved, after nearly eight years have gone by that the double convicted murderer of Abby and Libby has been arrested, now he has been found guilty on all four counts by a jury and, hopefully, he will never be free to kill again. I do think he is very dangerous, and he is capable of killing again if he was free, and he had the opportunity.
