We had Lauren Matthais from Hidden True Crime on our livestream. Lauren was in court today and discussed the victim impact statements and her thoughts on the Delphi case.

I would never presume to speak for Abby and Libby's families. I have never been in anywhere close to their shoes.

That being said. If I were, I would agree to a sentence of 30 years without parole as long he confessed.

Disclaimer: I have no idea if this would even be legal. This is only a thought experiment.

My rationale being that he was finally forced to own up to what he did, and in 30 years he'll be in his eighties and presumably not in the best of health when he's released. If he lasts that long.

And in the intervening years he would have to endure prison, which is most certainly not a pleasant place to be. Bad food, hot, cold, noisy, uncomfortable, dirty, stinky, with a constant threat of violence--especially given what he was convicted of.

I'd be okay with him having to endure years of that.

Its absolutely irrelevant and mute point now.

over 100 years is comfort to the families and the wider community that this monster will NEVER be released.

Like many, I am deeply disturbed at the way killers now have their own online fanbases - stoked by irresponsible content creators and even attorneys, and even the defendant's own team in some cases including this one.

I agree with Lauren and Trisha that Judge Gull's attempt to rein this in, whilst understandable, really did not work, except for perhaps the sequestration of the Jury. But that is not always practical. So what next? Surely it can't be the case that everyman line prosecutors continue to be accused of public corruption and smeared based on nothing? Not to mention victims?

I know some will disagree with my opinion, but please go and look at how these people have simply moved on to their next cases with the same tropes.

Hopefully B and R will be charged or sanctioned for their shenanigans.

I was told about 20 threads or so ago that the men that Baldwin & Rozzi named in their fictional franks doc cannot sue them..

However, I believe there could be a "work around" or " Loophole" which may allow them to sue the D team for "defamation of character" AND
Slander. I Hope they do that.

And I hope the families / Court/ Prosecutors -- one or all of them go after the D team for all the Unethical things they did, including leaking the crime photos.

I think we may see something after the new year.

One thing i continue to wonder about is whether the family have any comeback for the alleged intentional leak of the crime scene photos.

This would be on the basis that MW was acknowledged as a 'consultant' and was thus on the team, and thus the leak should be regarded as intentional by the defence via their agent.

As this would be a civil case, there is a different standard or proof.

I do not know if such a lawsuit is possible, or what the cause of action would be. Obviously you'd be taking a run at Baldwins' PI insurance on that basis that he allowed his 'consultant' access to critical materials without safeguards, and thus there was at least negligence on his part.

Yes, this is the REAL RA. A sick, cruel, angry, selfish little man who took the lives of Abby & Libby for his own sick fantasies. The "poor me, bible carrying good ole' boy Rick" (who continued to live his life open and freely after the murders) was just a facade for his Defense.

I am glad Judge Gull called him out on his eye rolling throughout the trial. He is a murdering child killer and a fake. He will leave prison in a pine box IMO and I can live with that just fine. He put Libby and Abby in the ground at the ages of 13 and 14.

Somene asked aobut the "other men" Nick says we have zero evidence that indicates anyone else was involved.

Someone asks about Anthony Shotz - Nick responds with he was convicted for crimes he committed.

UGGH one of those youtubers or podcasters must be present.

It was a Court TV reporter asking NM if all the other men who had interviewed had been cleared. NM refused to use those words & stated there wasn’t any evidence of anyone else’s involvement, as you stated.

This was later brought up on Vinnie Politan Investigates last night & used to fan the flames of the SODDI defense. BM showed up along with a PI named Ericka Morris & all they did was complain about lack of media access & try to further stoke the fire, linking Ferency’s murder to Odinism, letting the audience assume it was linked to Delphi. Of course, they left out all the bombshell "new evidence" they’d dug up. Just more of the same rhetoric. Politan wasn’t even convincing with his on air "shock" act. Court TV should be embarrassed pushing things like this - sour grapes & nothing more.

You can see Motta deciding to keep his mouth shut for once while EM just launches into wild conspiracies. When he chips in, he doesn't repeat those claims - he simply says the 3 cops had that theory.

I drove by Baldwin’s office Thursday afternoon. Once again, not enough middle fingers on my person. I’m considering getting a yard card for them, one made of images of the victim impact statements with portions aimed at them highlighted in red.

SIDE NOTE. What Kelsi German said about how scared she was someone was going to get her. Seems such a normal expected reaction to me.
An indirect connection to such extreme trauma it may as well have happened to you. Its just how it goes when you love someone.

And that is the very thing that brings guilty partys (usually parents...we know the cases I refer.) to our attention.
The LACK of ptsd.

It’s just unending with them - henpecking things with zero connection back to Delphi but the man was a DOC employee, therefore an Odinist & implying a hitman. She went onto say KF’s murderer has been convicted & that’s not true (incompetent). I doubt the claim of the Molotov cocktail going in his window was true as well. Most reports I’ve read said they were thrown at the building, not specifically in his office.

His whole segment was a joke. He started off blaming the state of social media & speculation, like he later fuels with those 2 clowns, being the fault of the court & LE for not being transparent with them & the public. It was just another tin foil session IMO. Not one mention of the evidence leak as an obvious reason.

MW was employed by Baldwin’s office but at the time he took pictures of the unsecured evidence, he was not an employee of ABs. He was supposedly allowed to roam free while the evidence was in another room, spread out on a table. No one saw him do anything & he was charged with misdemeanor conversion & given a diversion program sentence which he completed & charges were dropped.

The hometown newspaper here, where the leak occurred, covered every aspect of his hearings, also held here, UNTIL he was sentenced & charges dropped. Not one mention of his name after the deal was made. SCOIN found no proof to charge/discipline AR or AB, even though NM tried. Hence how they were reinstated as RAs team, basically.
