I am so glad we got the opportunity to hear K"s impact statement. at the 7:34 mark when she mentioned the thousands of Websleuths out there pushing BG's image everywhere so that RA would be confronted with his own image everywhere he turned. Raised the hair on my arms, she articulated so well how invested we all in the true crime community worldwide were in finding some sort of justice for the girls and their loved ones. I am glad they knew how much we all cared.

Btw, is there a way to punish the defence for the leak? It sets a dangerous precedent. I would hope the family could be left out of that, though, you can hear the burdon that has been lifted, they need to focus on life.

Holeman talks about that video from Cass County jail that was not admitted for the jury to see. RA isn't a "fragile egg" in his opinion. That vedio shows it.

Love that photo @steeltowngirl OMgoodness, Libby would be 22, that is unreal. She'd probably be graduating from College in a field related to criminal justice like she was said to have been interested in. Her possibilities would have been endless, her future would have looked bright and wide open. So many years of wonderful living and memory making to do.

It is heartbreaking that Libby is not alive and celebrating her 22nd birthday with her family, Abby and all her friends. I can’t imagine how hard it must be for Libby and Abby’s loved ones every day and on birthdays, family events etc.

A big thank you to Kathy Shank for making the breakthrough in solving the case and for being selfless and donating the reward money so it can be used to honor the memory of Abby and Libby. Kathy is a saint who represents the very best of humanity and the convicted double murderer represents the worst. I wish everyone in the world was as kind and caring as Kathy Shank.

I am very glad to hear that the reward money was at least offered to Kathy Shank. So often it seems reward money ends up being a “well, actually…” bogged down with a million tiny disclaimers and loopholes that allow the person who deserves it to get cheated out of it and if there was ever a person who deserved the $ it is FOR SURE Kathy Shank.

That would be wonderful if it is used to further the development of Abby and Libby’s memorial field and potentially create a scholarship in their names. I hope given that that is Kathy’s wish it can be done!

Kathy Shank, retired CPS investigator, performed one more selfless act in the name of children by helping find the murderer of 2 innocent 14 year old girls. She further demonstrates her selflessness by refusing to accept the reward money, donating it instead. Her actions are a perfect example of what IN is all about, despite the insensitive & degenerate behavior demonstrated by members of the defense & their cronies.

Happy 22nd Libby. You & Abby got him - rest easy girls. You made so many proud of you both.

Yes, I agree completely. Both Abby & Libby were amazing with Libby recording the pervert and Abby hiding the phone. They were BFF's and so courageous until the very end.

I was gutted when I read Abby's mother saying the last words she'll ever hear spoken by Abby was from Libby's video saying to her "Don't leave me here" while she was still on the end of the bridge, and Libby didn't. Hearing the families being able to speak out finally really drives home that this was a case of the senseless, brutal murders of Abby & Libby, not about that cruel, evil, weak, and small little man.

—Libby, who shot the video despite her fear, and long enough to capture not only BG’s image, but also his voice.
—Abby, who despite the desperate situation she was in, managed to conceal Libby’s phone from RA.
—Kathy Shank, who not only found the misfiled interview, but realized it contained important information, and got it to investigators.
So, no doubt, these three deserve the award, and thanks to KS’s selflessness, it will serve them all and the community.
