Sounds like the defense's expert or JA are the ones that need something dumbed down for them. lol

It says something when a picture is the rebuttal for testimony from a computer cell phone expert.

It's interesting that the D managed to publicise everything else about the case but never included in any of its Franks and motion to dismiss epics the alleged RL confession ...

MS also confirmed in the latest episode that it was not raised at the 3 day hearing where they made some bare bones arguments about RL for SODDI.

Why did they sit on this?

Same reason they made a big deal about the hair in the hand - just dying to get headlines with alleged bombshells. That’s the only sense I can make of it because with these things coming from discovery, they had to have an idea the state knew of it already.

Time & again they’ve showed that public opinion means more to them than sound defense of their client.

They must know the alleged confession of RL is easily refuted, and saved it to use it by as basis for an appeal, as a evidence problem, without having to expose it to scrutiny.

Well as per their usual, they succeeded in getting the court of public opinion all fired up again about how poor RA is wrongly convicted and see now here is exhibit xyz that RL actually did it. Some fall for these things the defense puts out.

What photos were you looking at & what else did you swear to be the truth but wasn’t? Might want to make your list of qualifications a few pages longer in hopes they cover up your obvious "expert" oversights.

They speak highly of the appelate lawyers, describe the appeal process far less "sexy" than trials because it's all technical.

I do wonder what the appellate lawyers will make of Rozzi and Baldwin's botched Safekeeping hearing.

Let's consider a key dynamic on appeal. IMO so long as the confessions hold, you will struggle to get a new trial even if Judge Gull made other legal errors (e.g on 3rd party). The reason is because the jury heard all the evidence and found him guilty so an appeal court will be slow to disturb the juries findings about the confessions IMO.

The D case now seems to be that the confessions were unreliable, as they were caused by psychosis, which in turn was caused by the unfair prison conditions. There are a few avenues of attack here - but lets pick at one

It seems problematic that Baldwin & Rozzi

1. missed the opportunity to move for a safekeeping hearing for months - seemingly only acting when their client confessed
2. made submissions the judge found to be dishonest
3. failed to make any pleadings on psychosis with medical/expert basis so the Judge simply did not know this in '23
4. were held by the Judge to have been negligent in their representation
5. instead made submissions that the confessions were caused by odinist prison guards

Pre trial, Rozzi changed tack, opened up the medical evidence, but also seemed to rely on an uncomfortable argument that the confessions were coerced by agents of the state

So I am left wondering if one chance is to argue Baldwin & Rozzi botched the safekeeping. Personally i believe their representation was poor in this regard. Of course they had a weak hand thanks to their client confessing to all an sundry. But the appellate lawyers can point to on the record findings of dishonesty and negligence wrt the safekeeping hearing.

Yes, Rozzi and Baldwin can't stand that they came out looking as horrible, unprepared and unprofessional in the Court of Public Opinion. Sorry fellas, too late to salvage that joke of a terrible representation of your dearly beloved client.

Personally, it makes me happy to have it all come to light because of the extremely dirty tactics and misconduct they engaged in throughout the trial. RA needs to settle in, sit down, and be quiet...he's not going anywhere.

Would that be because of the gag order by Judge Gull after RA was arrested or are you speaking of prior to RA's arrest?

But there it is, in full support of the State's case. Wet, dirty, landed where it lay when Abby was murdered. The photos make real how especially false the Defense's claims were.

I’m late but have just seen the phone images. Megnut thanks for expressing this. Like many of us, I’ve been very “engaged” in this case from day one, and have read this thread almost every day since, hoping for justice to come.
That phone image has hit with the severity and unfairness of this crime like nothing else. That phone belonged to Libby, she took pics of her friends, made videos, chatted on social media, talked to her family using this phone. She likely picked out that purple case. And it lay under Abby as she and Libby died, from a most horrible and violent act. How the hell could someone do that to these innocent girls?

Yes the D went down the path blaming the prison conditions and the Odinist guards for Rick the fragile egg’s crazy behaviour and confessions. In doing so they knowingly led the public to believe RA was of sound mind prior to everyone under the sun plotting to drive him to psychosis.

Yet we learned little snippets during the trial that RA suffered from various mental ailments his entire life. But rather than the D using that information to support a jail transfer or even a thorough psychological review which may’ve in part rationalized his confessions, instead they chose to continue to sweep it under the rug.

That leads me to believe there must be something very incriminating in RAs mental health history, something so disgusting the D feel they needed to protect it from becoming public knowledge so RS wouldn’t lose the little support for his innocence that he has managed to retain.

In the beginning of the Murder Sheet episode interviewing Detective David Vido, they stated they recorded the interview in January before [maybe the State?] police stopped participating in interviews. This sounded like a recent development so I wondered what made them suddenly shut down interviews again.

MOO. There is no recovery from leaking the crime photos.
Anything less than begging forgiveness from the family shows the low level machinators they are.
So, MOO they meant to release the photos for a purpose: the exposure fits in their hairbrained "branches are runes" scheme to snare a juror who had some residual online tinfoil lurking in their mind.
