Wonder if RA had a new phone at the time. Did LE start to quiz him about location previous phone and he walked out?
Moo

Ha, that’s a really great thought!

So he hoarded his phones 23 of them to count but the one at the time murders oddly he didn’t have. No doubt the jury will see that for exactly what it is.
I took that as I Pad's, computers, kindles, and phones.

agree - 23 devices total, some of which were phones (I misremember exactly how many but I think the search warrant return listed them all)

Sheriff Tony Liggett's testimony will be next.

Thanks it’s still highly suspicious he kept all those electronics and the one that he had when the murders happened he cant produce.

It stinks to high heaven that he is hiding something. Moo

The 1 tip out of 50,000 was the one he called in on himself.
Yep. Add that to video one of his victims took. Justice had the will to be done.

Guilty way out in front thankfully. I am becoming more confident he will be found guilty as the days tick by.
I have to admit - I am doing my best to reserve my “verdict” (just as the jurors hopefully) and wait until end of trial to decide. Not saying I’m doing well - but I am trying to listen to facts and not be predetermined in verdict.

The jury asked Mullin “Were you in an interview with Mr. Allen where he stated he didn’t remember which way he took to the trail?”

Mullin responded “yes.”
Interesting jury question!

My interpretation: if RA didn't remember which direction he took, then how can defense accuse Mullin of lying?

If RA said 'I went east', then Mullin would be lying. But since RA said he didn't know, then Mullin was piecing his movements together, using the words RA did state.

To me, that question is even smarter than whatever the Prosecution said in redirect.

At 2:08 p.m. the state called Carroll County Sheriff Tony Liggett to the stand. Liggett tells the jury he was a detective in Feb. 2017.

Liggett tells the jury that when the tip came in from Kathy Shank’s lead, he wasn’t aware anyone had seen the witnesses on the trail, and that he thought that person could be bridge guy.

Liggett tells the jury about the process of altering the video on Libby’s phone. Liggett says the bridge guy video was “altered to be upright all the time.”

The prosecution shows the video to the jury again. Liggett describes what he hears in the video in the following way:

Abby: “Is he right here? Don’t leave me up here.”

Libby: “This is the path, that be a gun, there’s no path here.”

Bridge Guy: “Guys”

Girls: “Hi”

Bridge Guy: “Down the hill.”

What will he most likely be testifying to? ( sorry, I am not familiar with all of the names!)

He was one of two Carroll County detectives in 2017 when the murders happened so he was instrumental in investigating the case. I just posted some of his testimony right above.

Grey Hughes actually did this before Richard Allen was a suspect. He figured a shorter man. I can't remember the exact height but around 5'6 or 5'7, I think.
And how tall were the girls again?

From Fox 59:

Liggett repeated the claims made by Mullin of speaking to Allen in October 2022 and of Allen changing his timeline to say he was on the trails from noon to 1:30 p.m. Liggett also stated that Allen was “wishy-washy” about where he parked.

When Liggett was asked about the search of Allen’s home, he described finding the Sig Sauer .40 caliber pistol in a nightstand. He said a .40 caliber round was also found in a “keepsake box” on the dresser.

Also found in Allen’s home was a blue Carhartt jacket.

When Liggett was asked why a note marked the original Richard Allen lead sheet as “cleared,” Liggett stated that “someone cleared it and it shouldn’t have been.”

Liggett also relented to the early parts of the investigation being “somewhat disorganized.”

The 1 tip out of 50,000 was the one he called in on himself.

This is new for me!

If the LE released images or photos to the public of BG on February the 15th, 2017, and Richard Allen called that tip line or whatever regarding himself on February the 16th, 2017, it means he didn't approach anyone before the release of those BG images which I'm sure has been brought up in various places under speculation.

To me, that doesn't spell out the actions of someone that is guilty or trying to incriminate themselves at all. Makes no sense!

Hasn't it been speculated that he approached someone to say he was on the bridge and trail not knowing there was a video recording and that that was released after he placed himself there.

Can someone please clarify this for me?

Have I got the dates wrong.

agreed, by October of 2022 when Mullins interviewed him there is no way he hadn't seen the image a thousand times.

Interesting to me his statement. Not - that isn't me. Just - if that is from one of the girls' phones there's no way it could be me. why all the extra unnecessary words?

Talking too much: Research from Harvard Business School found those who lie tend to say more words in an attempt to stretch the truth. This includes adding extra details to convince other people or themselves what they’re saying is true.

His reply that if the image was from the girls phone it isn't me seems strange to me. Why didn't he point out how the image is someone else and not him?

It's like he's saying the image is him as long as it was taken at a different time by someone else. JMO.

A couple of the jury questions have been like that!!! Such as the hat question to BB.

Juicy!

Court resumed at 1:38 p.m. with defense attorney Andrew Baldwin cross-examining former Delphi Police Chief Steve Mullin.

Baldwin said to Mullin, “You lied to this jury, before lunch you lied to this jury.”

I wish someone would report how the jury is reacting to this agressive behavior to witnesses from the defense

Yes, but he also interviewed RA in 2022, because he'd been promoted to Lead Investigator. When the 2017 notes were found in 2022, Secretary Kathy called him.

A few more snippets of Liggett's testimony:

Liggett tells the jury that he did research on Allen’s vehicles in 2022 and that he went to CVS and got photos of the car. Liggett says the car was “backed in” at the CVS and “backed in” at the CPS building.

Liggett tells the jury about finding Allen’s gun and ammunition and that he found another 40 caliber Winchester cartridge. Liggett said he also found more 40 caliber ammunition from a different brand.

Liggett tells the jury a blue Carhartt jacket was found.
