About the confession about the van interrupting him - there’s a problem with the timeline; also for any given period of time the police could have likely found someone driving a van in the area. Was this van caught on camera? The guy didn’t say he saw RA or anyone kidnapping the girls, did he?
What is the problem with the timeline?

The specific road this white van was on drives under the MHB, only goes to the witness’s house, and passes right by the end of the bridge, where the girls would have been forced down the hill. This isn’t any white van in the area, it’s the only white van RA would have been able to see from their location down the hill.

I think it's just to compel him to take the stand when it's the defense's turn to present.

I think without a subpoena he wouldn't have to come back would he? I always thought if a witness was at risk for not showing up you issue a subpoena. I wouldn't imagine he'd want to testify for people that have tried to say he was involved.

IMO

I wondered that because it comes across like an a$$#&*% move to me.

(Because, if they wanted to further question him, couldn't they have done so already during cross?)
They gotta have time to go create another fictional scenario.. or to see if they can say it was Odinists first.. then they need to change their story so his van piece may not fit into their narrative, just depends on which made up story they want to go with.

IMO

So he's lying? At the behest of LE? There's no proof of that nor a problem in his timeline. RA was planning on raping the girls right at the DTH woods and was interrupted by a vehicle appriaching. RA said he was interrupted by a white van while he was there with the girls. BW drove a white van down his parent's driveway ti their house. Sounds pretty solid to me. BW left work at 2:02, made it to the driveway at 2:30. RA saw him, confirmed him being there and interrupting him with the girls. Spooked him enough to ordered them through the creek to ground zero. However, she can't make him speak all that? eta *truth*
As soon as the psychologist took a personal crime-junkie interest in the murders (visiting the crime scene, participating in online discussions), she was no longer impartial. It's possible, not certain, that she became a care provider with an agenda. In my opinion, that's a problem regarding the confessions that she elicited from the accused.

Not a chance that happens, IMO. She's not RA's svengali power behind the throne of confessions. He was confessing right off the get go and making incriminating statements before his arrest. Blaming her for his confessions with the details we've heard today is stretching it. IMO
Did Dr. Wala read RA's discovery? I don't think so. Did RA fill her in on all the details of his discovery so she could then influence him on what to say on tape? I don't think so. That sounds rather outlandish to me. Is everyone he met to blame for framing RA? I don't think so. AJMO
His first “confession” was after he had been in solitary for 4 months and his mental health had significantly declined.

Don’t get me wrong - it’s darn good evidence for the prosecution. just don’t think it’s a smoking gun or proof that he’s the killer. Because of all the circumstances and generally chaotic nature of his confessions - I don’t think they’re reliable. I do agree that the jury will have a hard time overcoming this.

Great question. Doesn't both pros and def have to disclose witness lists before trial? I know some witnesses could be added during... but I would assume there's a process (or motion) before the judge?? Would it have to do with the basis of questioning?? I mean, the attorney couldn't cross on an issue that hasn't been addressed in direct, right??

You could be right.

I think it's quite powerful evidence for the jury. I'm hearing tomorrow there will be more audio, a couple hours worth I think. I wish we were hearing all this first hand

It’s… peculiar. Shows defense was caught off-guard by BW’s answers.

JMO

IMO they know BW is telling the truth. They need him to be look like he isn't.

Defense riled him up on the stand, on purpose IMO, setting the stage for their dramatic subpoena table slap.

They might not even call him back to the stand. IMO that was all for effect.

If they do, it'll be in order to create fireworks.

The jury won't forget that RA is under the bridge.
